  1. I forgot, both released at first impact. Tsixam
  2. I have the lower laces as tight as I can get them and the upper as loose as I can. (there should be more elasticity in the cords) I can easily get out on the dock. Still I sprained (I thought) my front ankle in a yard sale going to 2 ball at 38 off. I turned 1-ball way to hard, tried to hold on and got to the edge change in pretty decent form. But the line tension pulled me over the edge/tip of the ski and I buried the tip at the second wake. The foot still hurts and is swollen so I had it x-rayed 3 month after it happened. A piece of bone is loose and is floating around and I probably need surgery. I believe it had been worse in any other system ( I believe Strada is among the safest) and waterskiing at high speeds is dangerous. Some systems might be safer than others but accidents will happen in any system. I have been lucky this is the first real accident in about 15 years. Tsixam
  3. This has been very successful for my biceps and elbow problems. The procedure hurts as h@£l when you hit the right spot, but after five sets the problem was gone. http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/10/08/us-shockwave-therapy-idUSTRE6973Z220101008 or http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22433113 Tsixam
  4. I think that the Razor sits a bit deeper in the water and you have to work a little bit harder which gives more rope tension and a sensation of speed. The Mapple sits a bit higher. You don´t have to work as hard but still arrive wide and early and it doesn´t feel like it´s fast even if it takes you a cross faster. Tsixam
  5. @gregy I just washed the ski, put on my Radars and checked that the setting was close to factory. First 28 off was a disaster. I was all over the ski. The next 5 passes was much better. The Mapple is faster cross course than the Razor. It feels like it creates more angle all the way into the wakes. It was easy to get and stay wide. The turns are not as radical as the Razors. This is good since I have a tendency to over turn 1 & 3. Since I am used to a 68 the 66.75 looked short under me but it didn´t feel short. I am at 180lbs. Tsixam
  6. 6,0 66.75 in the mail! Tsixam
  7. Both (P)PB (practise personal best) and ©PB (competition personal best) counts but in a slightly different way. When I ski at my home lake I know that the boat path maybe was not perfect, the slalom course maybe not to RC specifications but we ski, have fun and try to match our PPBs. A beginner who sets a new PPB by running the whole slalom course for the first time is absolutely worth cheering as well as someone who runs 35 off for the first time. And we compete against each other with a handicap system and we brag about our achievements and I am surely proud of my PPB. It counts! But not in a competition. In a competition, depending of class there are several judges, end course video, gate cameras and the course is measured. If you really want to compete against others, feel the pressure, have a proof of your ability, get into the ranking lists and maybe stand on the podium, competition is the way to go. The only thing that bothers me is that my PPB is way better than my CPB. Tsixam
  8. Lower back has been a problem for years. But since I started to do crossfit regularly last year the back problem is totally gone! Other injuries are sprained ankles, sore elbows, some cuts and a ruined knee (jumping). Tsixam
  9. You have almost convinced me to retire my Razor and drop 1600 for a new ski...:-) Tsixam
  10. From time to time we have the same problem. If we give it full throttle it starts after a few seconds. Tsixam
  11. 25 min when I drive alone, nearly 35 with wife and family in the car.:-)
  12. Its hard to comment without a video. My best tip would be, make sure you keep both hands on the handle longer. At least until you get out to the bouy line or until you can feel the boat is taking it away from you. Tsixam.
  13. I had that problem on 2000SN, GT-40. Long story short, we finally found a small hole in a hose. It was pumping air instead of water. I have also made the mistake to put the pump in the wrong way…pumping water out instead.. Tsixam
  14. I buried the tip at second wake between 1 ball and 2 ball @ 38 a month ago. It was an extreme quick sort of twisting OTF. My double Strada released as they should at first impact but still I sprained my front ankle badly. The foot is still swollen and is hurting. I started to ski with the foot taped up with duct tape last week and it is skiable. (it is not broken if you can fix it with duct tape or super glue) Both booths released as they should and I believe it had been worse in any other system. I tighten the bottom laces as hard as I can and the top laces snug but not tight. I can get out with out loosen them. The bottom line is: Waterskiing at high speed is risky and accidents will happen in any system. Tsixam
  15. Now when the water has warmed up my Razor has started to hunt badly at the glide. I could adjust my settings (short line factory #) to prevent this. The problem is that I like the settings I am using now and I really don’t want to change. Any suggestion what to do that would help the glide and change the rest of the performance as little as possible? Tsixam
  16. So far the stainless inserts on the Razor are firmly in place. Tsixam
  17. Its not only US..we usually start 3 - 4 weeks earlier than we did this spring. Still cold 10/10 C. Im going to Italy next week to waterski hopefully it will be a lot warmer. Tsixam
  18. @Than_Bogan when you know you are going to clear 2 ball find 3-ball and keep your eyes on it untill you know you are going to make it. Tsixam
  19. I also have a tendency to drop my head, especially on my onside. What I try to do that is a big help is: when I approach the ball and know Im going to make it, I lift my vision and spot the next ball which is in front of tha boat. It is almost impossible to drop the head when looking at the next ball. It will feel awkward in the beginning but you will get used to it after some sets. Holding on with two hands longer might also be a big help if you think that you are falling in too much. Tsixam
  20. @ral He decided that he was done, no more juice left for a serious attempt. Tsixam By the way it was at 34. If it had been in a competition he would have given it a try.
  21. @ral try the Finnish facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/waterskifinland. Tsixam
