  1. Can't remember from where the info came (Probably BOS) but, it was reported that someone accused Poland of being too cocky and he said "That's okay cause I make up for it with my good looks" No idea if he actually said this but, I hope he did. That's funny. Dude has style, humor and mad skills. He's only 22 so we'll see how he pans out over time.
  2. TWBC Wow! The whole tourn Wow! The men's prelim runoff Wow! Mechler Wow! Whitney Wow! Joel Poland Wow!!! Jamie Bull Wow! Poland Overall 11,620 2@41 228ft
  3. I am a tweener on many skis. 67/68. I like having more ski in front of me and appreciate the stability. However, the bigger ski is usually also stiffer relative to my weight so that not only am I trying to turn a bigger ski but not getting any help from the ski flex. D3 is really smart to offer two flex patterns of the same ski. I can't remember for sure the difference in the D3 flex numbers for same ski shape/size but it was around 4-5 pounds in the tip. I was surprised that so little made such as difference in the feel of the ski.
  4. I have driven and skied 2014 to 2021. 2014 was slow if on a short site. 2015 got an updated transmission that solved that. The 2021 is the best ski boat that I've ever been in. We ski on a short lake. The 21 locks in almost a full boat length sooner which helps quite a bit with our short setup. The 21 has more grip and feel when driving it. The others tracked fine but did not provide as much feedback to the driver. They are all fantastic. With the price of the used boats being so high right now, getting a new one might be a better value if your intention is to keep it a long time.
  5. I've been a customer of MSN for years. Always good service, good prices and free shipping.
  6. Like new as I missed all of this season rehabbing an injury. https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=60886
  7. I used to prosecute child abuse and child molestation cases. The notion that making skiers watch some one hour video is going to have any meaningful positive impact is ridiculous. Now, on the other hand, education and training for children to understand what is and isn't appropriate and to know that they have many around who will support any report they make does help greatly. Most every school system in this country once had such programs. Well, until recently...now we have transvestite reading hour, the distribution of condoms to fifth graders and the general sexualization of children in school. Another thing that it helpful to children is to have parents who watch them like hawks and who, by their actions, let all know that should harm come to their child, all hell will break loose. That is not to say that those children are 100% safe from such conduct, but it sure betters the odds.
  8. Turning a wake board boat into something useful...I like it.
  9. @S1Pitts There seems to be mounting evidence that being physically uncomfortable is good for us. Challenge the body or it turns to mush... Intermittent fasting, cold, HIIT and skiing. I have not but will try the breathing exercises. I might be too soft to go for the ice baths...
  10. @Rednucleus Sorry for the delay. After posting this, the thread disappeared. Just now noticed that the replies showed up as notifications when I logged in. I have not done it yet. Read a book about it and have it cued up in youtube. Will try it soon and report back.
  11. Is the rocker the same as 2020? Thanks
  12. Wiley rear? You can do a lot to customize fit. Thick overlays. Thin overlays. Loose or tight overlays. No overlays. Can cut it down some if you like. Move heel piece forward/aft on the plate.
  13. Anybody follow this? What'd you think? Been reading about it, watched Joe Rogan's cast about it.
  14. Stop chasing rabbits and quit trying to ski like somebody else. Going to do my one handed gate no matter what I'm told. Less thinking; more feel. Not going to change skis unless mine breaks in half.
  15. @BraceMaker So true, I want one of each...
  16. To have the buying power of a dollar from 1913 takes 26 dollars in today's money. They can keep printing it but they can't make it have value. Bitcoin isn't mid 50s for no reason. Cash is trash. Price of everything is going up fast and faster.
  17. Club promo boat sold early this year so we skied last month of season behind a PP boat with the latest software update. No Z box. I was surprised at how good it was. Different from ZO for sure but totally acceptable. Boat had mechanical throttle, TBI, and was down 90hp to the promo. I was expecting it to suck. It didn't.

    2006 Prostar 197

My 60lb daughter and her similarly sized friends had no problem with the wakes of the 197. Great all around boat.
  19. I tried a number of different skis this year. Radar Vapor was friendliest of all. Had three setups: the 2 on their website and one from Rini. All three skied well and I ran same score on all three. Also tried a different shaped fin and skied well too. Seems to ski reasonably well no matter what. If you are new to measuring fins, it is as simple as falling out of a tree. The length and depth are easy. The distance from tail is a mere approximation. Set the fin "stock" and move the dft to suit.
  20. I can't say that crunches are bad. Just be mindful that they can shorten RA. Despite the "6 pack" look of it, that is one muscle group. Planks and other stabilizing exercises are better. There are even body builders who do not do any crunches. One exercise that proved very helpful was walking with a 50lb weight in one hand hanging free by your side. Go till you are certain that you cannot hold that weight another second and then go some more. Switch hands and start again. Great for grip, lateral stabilization, traps, elongating those muscles that take the load from the boat. Of course, this assumes that your back healed enough to do this without pain.
  21. I've posted the below several times. Might be something you already know but, I didn't until I had to learn to heal my back. I had a herniation at L5 S1 and healed it without surgery. Walk ... a lot and every day. Sounds too simple but walking is great for our backs. When I started, my left leg would drag behind slightly when walking. It got better every mile and every day and every week. Mile one I would hobble along...by mile three I was noticeably better. Inactivity is the worst possible thing to do. Train your core to be the strongest link. You do not want your arms and upper body to be stronger than your core. Work on thoracic spine and hip mobility through the winter. * Crunches shorten the rectus abdominus. * The lumbar spine has only 3 degrees max rotation per segment while the thoracic spine has up to 7 degrees rotation per segment. * Shoulders that round forward or have some C shape to them, greatly limit thoracic rotation. The shortening of rectus abdominus can lead to the C shaped shoulders to some extent. When RA shortens, it flattens the lordotic curve in the low back which greatly weakens it as so much strength derives from the structure of the curve. If the shoulders are rounded and greatly limiting thoracic rotation, then the rotational limits are exceeded in the low back. The low back is now flatter, weaker and subjected to rotational forces that exceed natural limits. If we add to this a lack of hip mobility and short hamstrings the low back is doomed. The rotation is to be derived from the hips and thoracic spine not lumbar. The lumbar spine needs to be trained for stability not movement. Planks, side planks, walking while carrying one kettlebell overhead etc. can provide superior core training.
  22. @slalom frog There is much misinformation about BHR. Most surgeons do not do it and do not know how to to do it. After researching it, I decided it was the superior option for me. I sought out Dr. Thomas Gross in Columbia SC. Wow what a positive experience. His site explains the procedure very well. http://www.grossortho.com/about-us/thomas-gross
  23. Tom, I had BHR on Oct 7, 2019 by Dr. Thomas Gross in Columbia SC. Started skiing some in May this year. I now have zero limitations and often forget that I had the hip done. Dr. Gross' website is really informative; might want to check it out. I took opiate pain meds for one day to cover the ride home. Thereafter, only Tylenol. Pain was tolerable. The worst part of the whole thing was after surgery when the nurse said that if I didn't pee in the next 20 minutes, I was getting a catheter. I stayed in the bathroom 21 minutes trying my best to squeeze out a drop. I even prayed...to no avail. Fortunately, I was still high on the pre surgical cocktail. @liquid d had his hip done and won Nationals following year. He was kind enough to discuss it with me and his positive vibe really helped me embrace moving ahead with it.
