  1. I went with RFF because that's what my wally-skier uncles told me to do. Didn't question it because they could put up big spray!
  2. I have a similar situation, subs are about 4' deep. Using surgical tubing now, would bungee work better? Hard to adjust with the tubing, is the biggest issue, but it holds up well.
  3. Did that to both eyes on a reflex pre release at the wakes. No fun, took almost a month for the eyes to look normal again.
  4. Finally warming up here in MT, but our lake is about 3 weeks from being skiable due to low water. Frustrating to say the least. Of course the last few days have been warm and no wind, I'm sure that will change when the lake is full...
  5. @skinut - I'm in Bozeman. Moved here about a year and a half ago. @sunvalleylaw - Currently our season starts in mid-June... Not good. We lost our ski club 2 years ago and are skiing at a new site. The owner doesn't fill the lake until June for some reason. Great site and only 20 minutes from town. Typically weather would allow us to start in April, ice came off this year in mid-March.
  6. 70F here yesterday and woke up to 2" of snow today. Spring in MT sucks.
  7. That's awesome! I've been in the boat when he's run 41' off. It was on older SN with PP, but still cool as hell.
  8. Did the same thing, ended up in the emergency room. Hit so hard it blew out my contacts and busted a bunch of vessels and tore the surface of my eyes. When the boat came back to pick me up the crew said "your eyes are bleeding!" Not something you ever want to hear. That was the last time I was on hardshells. Somehow I was lucky enough not to hurt anything else.
  9. @LeonL I have had my assistant judge rating, then I had kids that I've had at all tournaments for the past couple years. Usually by myself, so I don't get a chance to judge to maintain the rating. Since I don't work a couple tournaments I forget how to count to six?? everyone's situation is different, that's the reason I haven't been able to maintain my rating, you can call it an excuse doesn't matter to me. Keep justifying the rules and regulations in place, it's obviously working so well...
  10. The whole requirements for hosting class C tournaments needs reworking. There's no reason why a class C tournament can't be run with driver, and boat judge. No need for 3 judges per round. Chief judge, driver and scorer, really? Everyone's busy, how many have the time to go through all the steps to bexome a "chief"? 95% of tournament skiers can easily handle the duties. You'll see more tournaments and probably more members.
  11. So, what's the issue? Does it matter if AWSA loses these seats? How does affect us? Maybe this is a good thing to force some changes.
  12. Have a Mapple T2. Would love to try the Radar.
  13. I'd trust the guy that puts his name on his company.
  14. T-shirt from my first tournament had this on the back "Hips forward, knees bent, shoulders back, Enter Course!"
  15. @Bracemaker it does have a throttle cable hooked up to the ECM driven throttle body. I have checked and the cable moves it all the way to full throttle.
  16. @skier2788 we're at the same elevation, and that's the prop we got. Top speed is right around 41 mph, it's really just the hole shot that needs improving. With driver and passenger it takes a while to get to 36, right before the 55's and that's with a long set-up. Weird that the conversion would cut the power, I'll talk to Tim about it. @AggieSkier thanks, I'll check the hose in the FCC
  17. New spark arrestor with the ZO conversion. I only test drove the boat when I bought it, didn't ski or pull anyone skiing, so didn't notice any power issue. Then did the ZO over the winter, so don't know if it has anything to do with it. I'll change out the distributor cap and rotor
  18. I have a 2004 SN 196 with the 330 Excal that I purchased last winter that is low on power. Hole shot and top end isn't what it should be. Full throttle to pull up a skier and still doesn't feel strong. Full throttle is about 4700 rpm. It's not the prop, as I ordered a new one earlier this summer spec'd out for my altitude. I did add ZO conversion, but don't know if that could affect anything. Any ideas? Boat has 600 hrs, have replaced the FCC filter and spark plugs. Thanks,
  19. Had our second child Wednesday so I'm done for the year. Most of the year has been a let down anyway, both ski partners out most of the season due to injuries. Looking forward to 2017!
  20. I used to live in Houston and skied at lakes of Cypress regularly. Awesome lakes, by far my favorite site in the Houston area. It's been ten years so not sure about the guys skiing there now, but I'm sure it's a great group. Someone else will have to chime in about schools as I didn't have kids at the time.
  21. I feel your pain. Haven't skied in 2 weeks due to vacation, now I'm back and my ski partners are out of town until next week.
  22. Wow, I skied in similar conditions last week. Had to slow the boat to 32mph just to run my opener...
  23. @skinut I'm in Bozeman. Not going to make it to Pork n Buoys, have a family reunion. I'll probably be in the Pocatello area next week for a day, let me know if you want to meet up to ski.
  24. @Kelvin - That's the one I ordered. Jim (or Tim) at ACME was great to work with
