  1. Follow up to @UWSkier ... Mike King moved to Utah.
  2. @UWSkier is right. Neosho is what you want. It really is an old mill pond so there's LOTS of sediment. Besides for a couple of jet skiers and one other boat there was nothing on the pond the last time I was there 6-7 years ago so you'll have the place to yourselves most days. Surprisingly good launch for a mill pond right at the park on the south side w/ a good dock. Don't wander anywhere outside the course. It's very shallow in a number of spots. Last I heard an old MC promo guy (Chad?) lived on the pond and took over the course. I'm assuming he's still out there. The course has been in a few different places over the years and running in a couple of different directions. Get great water regardless of how it's set up. Launch is where the arrow points to in this picture.
  3. I had a '12 and a '16. As mentioned above go for a '15 - '16. Throttle and engine placement alone make it a no brainer
  4. I had a chance to order one from the first batch and passed. No reviews and it still seems priced far too high. I'm assuming the typical buyer has a few people chipping in to buy one. If they bring the price down to $1k I'd be a buyer. Until then....
  5. I pulled mine off. It's not any louder. Not sure why it's needed.
  6. Do a 50/50 mix of Lysol Blue Gel toilet bowl cleaner and hydrogen peroxide. Put it in a spray bottle, spray it on, let it sit for a few seconds, wipe it off, then use soap & water. Cheap, simple, magical.
  7. Depends on what people mean by "set up". I've had Malibus that have pulled pro events that were "set up" by Dennis Kelly and the feel from the driver seat was sooo much better than similar boats that weren't set up. There is no doubt in my mind that doing things like adjusting a rudder tab, shaving it, etc... can make a big difference. What I'm hearing above is that the boat needed to be set up to even be skiable. THAT obviously shouldn't be needed. In the meantime I'll just stay fat and happy with my 200. For literally the first time in my life I see no reason whatsoever to move to a new boat from any of the big three.
  8. I've had an '04 RLXi, '12 TXi and '16 TXi. I skied a '07 RLXi and didn't like it a bit so skipped over that generation. The '04 RLXi was one of my favorite all around boats. It skied well, you could barefoot it with a boom without too much chine spray and was a blast to drive. Some people didn't like the ergonomics of the driver seat so make you drive it first. If you're going to ski it at all DON'T put the barefoot plate on it. It destroys the slalom wake. There's a couple of reasons I'd go with a newer one, though: 1. If you need to do double duty as a family boat the newer RLXi or RTXi will probably be better. If you try to put anyone up in the bow of an older RLXi you have to *really* pay attention or you'll bury the nose. 2. If you want a ZO boat. Hope that helps. Mike
  9. Timing with the old printed tape is classic as well.
  10. Gate in jump/trick mode when I pull people. The extra mph helps, but the footer I pull likes the curl and table more that way as well.
  11. In our group we have a couple of women that ski at that speed and have (or have had) the following boats: '01 Bubble Butt '04 196 '12 and '14 200 '14 ProStar '12 and '16 RTXi It's not even close. Bubble Butt. After that they don't have any consistent preference. We also have one kid that skis 22-off @ 24.9. Some days she prefers her dad's ProStar... some my 200. When she was younger and skied ~20mph she preferred my old RTXi to her dad's ProStar.
  12. The one on Nag is (I believe) a sinkable course. It's on the far north end in the crap. I don't ski on that lake, but from time-to-time the person that maintains that skis with us on our lake.
  13. Just looking to get on the water for a set? Or instead looking for an actual course? @UWSkier is right that there are lakes everywhere, including right at Lauderdale Lakes. Both Stillwaters and Lyn Louise are private so wouldn't bother with either of those. There is a public site up on Neosho Pond (someone can correct me if it's no longer there). It's an old mill pond so tons of sediment and very shallow, but you'd have it to yourself. I haven't put in there in 5-6 years.
  14. I just dropped my new-to-me 6L WITHOUT cats into the water for the first time last week and was surprised at how much pull it had out of the hole. Prior to this boat I've had two RTXIs w/ 6Ls with cats yet my 200 seems noticeably quicker. I'm wondering if there's any real difference between a 200 with (vs. without) cats. Never driven one with cats before. Only a 5.7.
  15. This just sucks at so many levels. I take a lot of pride in whatever my current boat is and baby the hell out of it. I also couldn't lie to save my life. So when I'm selling a boat I'm overly conservative in how I describe it and point out everything that someone may miss so they aren't disappointed in something down the line right down to the smallest scratches or vinyl imperfections. Sadly there are dishonest people out there that pride in taking advantage of others.
  16. Confused. You stated "I went to test drive the boat and everything checked out fine." Then less than a week later it won't even start and it's ingested water. Don't understand how both of those could be accurate. Are you thinking that something happened between when you test drove it and when you received it?
  17. This might help. http://www.whitestonelakes.com/documents/Section%205%20-%20Presentations%20and%20Miscellaneous/5.01%202016%20Electrical%20Presentation%20-%20Dusty%20Abel.pdf
  18. Yeah. I'm going to pull the connector off the back of the head unit tonight and check it out. Hoping it's obvious which leads are 12v and ground.
  19. Interesting. So you think there may be a connection. Literally everything else in the boat is ok, but stranger things have happened. Too damn hard to even get to the connector for the blower until I can get that plate loosened up that it's on. Once I do that I plan on throwing a multi-meter on the connector and going from there. New to me boat so not sure how long it's been out
  20. Hoping I don't need to dump $600 on a new head unit. 2012 SN 200 w/ Linc 2.0 Here's what I'm seeing: Hit start to power on dash. Head unit lights up, Linc boots up. After about 10 seconds the head unit goes black. I can turn ZO on/off, change modes, pull type, etc... via Linc. I can't change the set speed via Linc. Any ideas?
  21. Looks to me like the blower is sitting vertical w/ it inset into a plate. That plate has at least one screw into the hull. I unscrewed it, but the plate is still in there pretty good. My guess is that the plate is glued down to the hull and that I could take a putty knife to pry it up and get to the blower. Hoping someone can either confirm that or provide the right option if I'm wrong. Attached is a picture of what I'm seeing when reaching into the area with my cell phone. The left side of the picture is the fuel tank. To the right of the blower in the picture is the transom. The bottom plate with a single screw, which I removed, is at the very bottom of the picture.
