  1. Its odd that Horton has not tested the Mapple 6.0 or 6.1.
  2. ShaneH, That's good stuff. Could you elaborate a bit concerning the core and the handel moving out? Johnny
  3. Thanks for the information, now hummm to change or not to change.
  4. How important do you think having hands in the right position is? LFF left hand down, right up , RFF left hand up, right down. I am backwards, thinking about changing. I am LFF, can run 35 and a few at 38.
  5. 2007 Mailbu, with new ECM. ZO R version.
  6. asst judge , senior driver. I need to upgrade to reg judge.
  7. I had a hard time skiing on this ski the first few sets, the ski is a 66.75". Could not turn my offside. Andy moved my bindings to 29.75 and I was able to ski ok on it . Over a few weeks I got better on it and changed the fin #'s from the freer optional #'s to standard #'s----Better. I have now moved the bindings back to 29.5 and the back binding back accordingly. Wow the ski came alive, tracks out , comes under the line ,and gos. I could barely run my opening pass on this setup a few weeks ago now , its awesome.
  8. Wasted 2 years on the 1 handed gate. When I got it right it was great but I was very inconsistent . I went back to a two handed gate.
  9. 2 times a year, The State and the Regionals.
  10. Low this morning 24 F , high in thw 48 f. The water is in the high 40's. I have not skied, this time last year I had skied several times. I hope this weekend---- high mid 60's.
  11. Have you seen the new Reflex Flow13? Its a wild looking ski, looks like totally outside the box design concepts.
  12. Keep it coming. These are the two skis I am interested in. I want to change skis this year but I want to get it right. Skis are too expensive to purchase, then determine that it won't work well for you after skiing on it for several months. I did that with the Elite- I was looking for a ski that required a little less pressure in the pull. The Elite was that ski , I however could not stay balanced over the middle of it. I had some great sets on it but never any consistency.
  13. Its unique, just the thing to help fix the Baller winter blues.
  14. Oops, I did forget Mikes 196--I must be getting old. I had that Maha poster, totally cool.
  15. Grimditch-180, then Mondor-187 , then Thurlow- 202, I think? Grimditch also won the worlds best athlete soon after he retired from skiing. He ran an amazing 800 meter in that progression of events.
  16. I was a life long RTPer. I changed several years ago and started having some rear hip pain. What do you guys think, related or not?
  17. Tell -tell -tell! I am overly curious.

    Revision R.

So far I don"t like it. It feels like it gasses in a quick pulse.
  19. I think if you keep your elbows pinned to your vest and your handle low you will automatically counter. It is a by product of proper technique. Read Handle control article.
  20. I feel a little different about this. I interpret speed to be the load I feel during the time I am going from buoy to buoy. One could measure load with a load cell over the time it takes to get from a starting rope angle to a finishing rope angle. (buoy /buoy). When I try a new ski my definition of fast is low load; more load equal slower speed. This feeling may not actually match the skis measured speed.
  21. I will miss Dana. He was an awesome driver and teacher. He came to one of our record tournaments 2 days early and taught me how to set the boats up for maximum slalom performance. He them spent the next day helping our drivers learn to drive a good path and give the skier a great pull. He was a great person and will be missed. Johnny Seiler
  22. What Gloersen said! I find that if I don't stay connected on the turn in at the Gates I get back footed and cannot stay connected into and out of #1. I feel like the back foot position keeps you from bringing the trailing hip foward as you cross the wake. The result of this is that you get no separation or outbound direction, no counter, and no connection out of the buoy . What you do get is downcourse speed and more backfooted. Johnny !
  23. Does anyone ski on a Reflex Hybrid ( Mid)? Tell us what you think.
  24. Miss that" Great American " slalom ski. I skied on one for several years. I believe Lucky Skied on one for a while. Maybe late 70's.
