  1. Ski path works great where there is no cell service. Been working with them and Jerry. System works well utilizing radio signal from base station to the boat. Shoot me an email and I can get you some info. Cscott1968@hotmail.com
  2. In that case you can just purchase the rover if you have access to the base station. Base station Jerry used is like 12 miles from his lake. Pretty cool. I guess the only drawback is that you don’t have any access if it goes down for some reason
  3. Actually @Horton the sure path will work with any RTK base station. Jerry has used one miles from his house. I believe scoke has found one near okeeheelee that will work for them
  4. @Laz. It is coming to tournaments. There is a current proposal to make mandatory for a Class R event. Either way it is coming. It will not mess drivers up. Will only help drivers to improve. It is a great tool if you are serious about being a good driver. Instant feedback and tons to study and learn from after the event I don’t want to drive practice or ski without it. It answers lots of questions pretty quickly. There are current rule change proposals and yes it will immediately call for a re ride is some instances. I thing Ski Path and Sure Path are awesome. Actually fun to drive with
  5. @buechsr I don't have the answers you are looking for however I can tell you that we are lucky the big 3 still have promo programs of any sort and should do the best to make it worth it to guys who still want to be involved with a new promo every year. Looking for more from the manufactures is not going to happen and @horton knows that. That is the reason for this thread. The bottom line for the three event boat customers like yourself, we all believe wholesale is retail. In my 20 yrs plus experience with promo's customers want the best price possible and the least amount of hours. I bet there are not many customers on this site that have are want to pay retail prices for their ski boat versus the wakeboard/wakesurf industry customers who want every option on the boat and more. It takes as much time to make the ski boat as it does to make a wakeboard/wakesurf boat that will bring in over twice as the amount of money for the ski boats. I can only speak to what I know about Malibu, but if I wanted to order a new TXI it would take till march to get it. They are sitting on over 2000 confirmed orders today and I can assure you these aren't ski boats. With that said, it is unrealistic to look for manufacturers to get too excited about investing or throwing more money into the promo programs.
  6. The three event world is not fueling the sales for the big 3. The boat manufacturer is already selling the boat at a discounted price to the promo boat owners. These companies are making money on 150k plus wakesurf and wakeboard boats. The organization needs to come up with a way to support the promo boat owners and make guys want to stay involved so that we continue to have boats available. I think the LOC helping the promo boat owners is a good thing. I have been very fortunate because most of the places I have taken my boat to waive the entry often cover your hotel room or provide a place to stay. Those little things help and I was happy to take my boat to the places that took care of me as a promo boat owner.
  7. In the rules related to sure path and ski path. There will be an offset tolerance as well to eliminate what you are describing
  8. @klindy my point exactly. The definitions are sometimes difficult to actually define with regards to pattern driving. It is the reason I am a big proponent of the gps tracking system and hopefully the powers that be can decide on a clearer definition of the rules as to what is acceptable versus what many have defined as too subjective today I believe the tracking systems will put an end to drivers taking a risk and flirting with the tolerances. The system doesn’t lie and takes the subjectivity out of the equation for the decision makers. Until then .......
  9. The tolerance is for the protection of the driver and not to be utilized to enhance the skiers performance. Honestly as the gps boat tracking devices become mandatory, the pattern driving will take care of itself. Outside 49 cm cumulative the pass will be considered bad and out of tolerance. I think all driving is pattern some good pattern driving and lots of bad pattern driving. It’s more about being in the right place at the right time to not hinder the skiers performance or path they are trying to take.
  10. @lpskier You are right about that get in the boat and get one of the boat tracking devices because they sure do not lie, they will let you know how you are doing pretty quickly
  11. @"Keith Menard" wow what did I say that changed your mind?
  12. @AdamCord my pet peeve as well I watch too many end course videos of drivers not ready at the pregates and they end up getting straight and finding center while the skier is in the glide. Result- kills the skiers glide and width. This also tends to cause too much movement with the boat between the entrance gates and one ball which can result in a negative swing with the skier I find myself actually slightly left as I approach the pregates and driving to the center as you are pulling out providing a post to move out against Once you reach the top of the pull out I have drive to the center and can just sit quietly as the skier picks the spot to turn in and approach one ball.
  13. @scoke you should have included shipping in the bet. I’d start making room in my refrigerator
  14. The plot was mid 170s without skis on
  15. @Laz The sure path data and numbers are sent to the judges tower so you wont have to call them in I think there is a good possibility that this could do away with the need for end course but I am not part of the TC committee so I have no real insight
  16. I would say that pattern driving is purposely manipulating the boat to the maximum deviation at each buoy. Plus 20cm plus 20cm and we have all seen videos of this. If you drive in the plus and stay within the cumulative of 49cm, which basically only allows you approximately 8cm or about 3 inches per buoy, I don’t believe there will ever be an issue or someone describing that as pattern driving. My .02 cent
  17. I second that. Come out support the event support the athletes and enjoy the show
