  1. @BoneHead welcome back. Stick with it. Be great seeing you at some events and maybe sharing a cocktail (or 4).
  2. It’s just weird that this only occurs in some of the boats. I had no issues with my 17 or 18 and drive the boat all day long in extreme temperatures in Louisiana. Have not experienced any loss in power. My boat runs all day at several tournaments in the south. I don’t know what has changed, Maybe word got out that Malibu was going to start building their own engines
  3. I know Jason Staub Malibu Promo guy from Kansas was having these issues and installed another fan in the engine compartment and seemed to keep his air intake temp in check. If I’m not mistaken it was a very inexpensive solution. I’m going to ask him to chime in on here
  4. The XTR was the nano one shape with a different rocker profile. The revolution is the shape of the Rev 6. Without cuts. The rev 6 was the sixth version of this shape which was never released. And all of the previous testing was the shape without the flex tail. The revolution shape is a great ski which offers a ton of stability. The ski turns and generates mega cross course direction while allowing you to slow the ski down to initiate the turn
  5. Closer to the revolution shape. I’d say the ski is faster side to side than the rev 6. The biggest improvement is stability and the way the ski feels. It turns effortlessly. In fact I have heard a few say it turns too good. I am running the same fin numbers that I rode on the rev 6 and the nano one. So I’d say it’s an easy transition from either ski
  6. The ski is designed off of the Rev 6 shape. With all new construction and core
  7. These are text I received from a 32 mph women’s skier who got on the ski right after the regionals. Two sets on the ski before nationals and these are the text she sent me We are seeing these comments from everyone that rides it. This ski has been in the works for 2 years and is not a ski that Dave rushed to get out. I have been on the ski for two years and really think we have it dialed in for all ages The comments have been the same across the board. Set 1......This ski....unbelievable...I love it, right out of the box. I’ve only had time to ride it once, but ran pass after pass, never in the water!!!! Very easy to ride. -22, -28, easy...will try -32 next set....Chad, thank you so very much!!!! Omg! Decided to take another set with ski/ binders as is: 2 passes -22, 2 passes -28, got great starts at -32...haven’t been there yet this year. Never fell in the water....ever! Very forgiving. Can you please keep this ski a secret?!!
  8. @Bruce_Butterfield men’s 3 and 4 used to be prestigious events. At least when I was coming up. My first 2 years getting beat by chuck and mike Morgan. I wish I would have had the opportunity to get rid of them. Oh or just keep skiing and try to get better. And I’m out. But do I have to go to regionals to ski against 4 guys. That I see most weekends
  9. @lpskier and @JeffSurdej I hear the argument that the exemption was due to the pro tour. Which hasn’t existed in the past 20 years. So we have maintained it based on the pro tour that doesn’t exist. As for doing away with the exemption, I don’t see that as good either. Most of the open skiers get no real benefits from supporting nationals anyway. It’s 165 for one round no money America’s cup is a great idea this year. But why force open skiers to go spend another 130$ plus travel for one round with no benefit at a regionals I’d say without a cash tournament you would lose many open skiers at the nationals if they were forced to do both. Having the likes of Nate Smith, Freddy Krueger is a good thing for our nationals and the kids attending nationals So doing away with the exemption all together I don’t think is good for attendance either With all that said. You can’t force people into this elite status and then have the same people who voted the level 10 mandate vote to say that 1/2 of the level 10 do not receive the same exemption. Your elite but not really. We just don’t want you in our age divisions at regional and nationals because we can’t beat you. The exemption is in place for level 10 or elite skiers from the open division. If it’s not across the board then it should be done away with. No pro tour, or give it to anyone in an elite division. But the crybabies that don’t want to compete with better skiers their same age also don’t want the better skiers to have the option to skip regionals because they can’t. Don’t see how it can be both ways. Your in an elite division and you get the perks.
  10. Correction mandatory attendance at regionals to attend nationals.
  11. And on the same opinion. @JeffSurdej As we discussed the “organization” forced many of us into level 10. I still don’t understand why we don’t share the same benefits of the level 10 Open. So are we not all the same. Only one portion of level 10 is slated for mandatory attendance at nationals. Also why are there class C scores utilized for the MM level 10. There is no class C scores for the open divisions of level 10. Are we level 10 (but not really) as I said to you in person. Don’t see how it can be different. Level 10 is level 10
  12. @tru-jack We have a block of rooms at the Hampton and embassy suites. www.malibuopenfestival.com
  13. @gjohnson ship it to a friends cover with decals. Camouflage new purchases
  14. I didn’t take it as demeaning. Just saying that pushing limits and trying new ideas shapes and layups is good for us. Who doesn’t like new skis. It would suck to go to nationals and have nothing new to look ar
  15. I think all of the companies push the limits with layup/cores/bevels and rockers to increase performance. The same ski shape with different cores and different layups always ski different. Sometimes better sometimes not. It’s called having a choice. To spend or not to spend. I’m glad all of the companies keep pushing to make a better ski.
  16. @LeonL Would you rather ski companies stop working to make a better ski? I think all of these companies work to push the limits and we get the benefit of their efforts. Nationals is the best time and place to get new product out their.
  17. Hey guys, the Malibu Open is just around the corner at Trophy Lakes. As you know it is hard to keep sponsors. Last year you guys rocked on buying the event T-Shirts. Please take a look at the link for shirts and hats. Any and all support is very much appreciated. https://www.sayiwont.com/his/malibu-open-18-tee-htr https://www.sayiwont.com/malibu-open-18-heather-snap-hgw The shirts and hats are very comfortable and high quality.
  18. @chris55 Probably has to do with the number of men’s entries versus number of women
