  1. There used to be an on the fly adjustable wing back in the day
  2. @johncox probably did. Did you ski on the team? Who did you hang out with?
  3. @cu_ski you guys did a great job. Congratulations.
  4. Missed my practice pb by one buoy. Skied one tournament on a broken ski and have spent the rest of the year trying to come to terms with a new ski. Happy to not be hurt this year.
  5. @mattp yes back in 87. Had a great time the short time I was there.
  6. Just watched it. Brought back great memories.
  7. Chris Rossi has a good one on youtube
  8. I only turn and burn if I'm pissed off. I ski tentative in tournaments sometimes and little anger helps.
  9. @KcSwerver I've skied with my bindings at 30 and the ski actually feels great, but when I had the bindings that far forward I couldn't get any width on the boat. Skied really good at 28 and 32, but was a problem at 35 and 38. Moved the binder back, and now 35 is pretty easy. I would show your dad the HO website with the stock settings, and show him that your are at stock settings for that ski.
  10. 80 miles one way with the boat. Two trailer flats last year. Of course, my trailer didn't come with a spare. Got one now. I try to bum rides whenever possible. Have a lake 15 minutes from my house, but you have to be invited to ski. So, I don't get out there very often. Public course about 25 minutes, but it is almost always rough. Skied last week, on a weekday around 6:30 pm, in the rain, and still had a guy out there pulling an inner tube.
  11. I say screw the kids. If they wanted to practice a sport, they should have picked skiing, or a winter sport. I was skiing before they were born. They knew the deal.

    Jump Tips

You are not actually going to get the handle all the way over to your left knee. You are trying to get your shoulders, knees, hips, and skis all pointing in the same direction. The top left corner of the ramp. The tendency is for your shoulders to open to the boat, like in slalom. You want to resist that, and people will say get your handle to your left knee, they really mean keep the handle down and in, and don't open your shoulders to the boat. A sling will actually help that. I would also work on getting your skis together and get up on the balls of your feet. Both starting in your turn for the ramp.

+1 on kindly. It looks like you are sitting back on your skis, even pulling out on your counter. Also looks like you are starting with your skis wide and turning with your left ski. It looks like you're keeping a lot of weight on your left foot. Like kindly said get your handle to your left knee. Skis will slip out if you are not balanced over them. if your skis are apart they will slip. You are cutting hard enough to warrant a sling.
  14. @eleeski very cool. I would have liked to have seen that. I think the trick is to wait later.
  15. @Horton that's got to be M4. mine is 10/68.
  16. I'm an old fart now. Going to ski my first M4 tournament in a couple of weeks.
  17. @eleeski did you actually jump in the Powervest? My friends keep laughing at me, because I said I might give it a try. Seems like it would work well for the pull into the jump.
  18. I'm a little bigger at 6'-4" 210 and ski on a 67. Often thought I should be on a 68. Maybe we should switch skis. Try .83 if you don't like it you can always go back.
  19. That is too cool that they get to ski at the masters.
  20. I've have the same issue getting this ski set up. I had the fin all over the place and basically made the ski unskiable. Moved the binder to 30" and the ski turned fantastic, but I couldn't even get out to one ball at 35. I was at the point where I was either going to move up to a 68 or switch to another ski. Went back to stock fin and binder settings and made a few small fin adjustments and I love the ski again. Haven't missed a 35 since. I haven't run a 38 yet, but that is because I'm butchering my gates. 29.5 6.845 2.505 .760 7
  21. @jimbrake thanks for the info. My brain is a little canted then, or would that be twisted? I rotated my rear binder last night, and my knee felt fine after skiing. @chris_logan, thanks for the advice.
  22. @chris_logan yes I'm on an A3 with my same old Wiley's. That is a good point, I'm going to try and cant the rear first before I move my bindings around. Thanks
  23. @mwetskier, thanks I will try that. I'm not sure if it is the Patella, it seems to be more around the top of my knee cap. But that certainly couldn't hurt.
  24. 1@39 at the beginning of summer then blew up my ski. Only ran 2 32's after that. Stuck at 2@38 on new ski, but it's starting to come around. Just happy to be skiing. Good skiing @skoot1123. I do the same thing. Every time I think I have a pass run, 5 ball shows me I don't.
