  1. Are you running double boots or open tow on the mid? I just watched my ski bud almost run 39 on a 9900, both rounds, ran 3 nice 38's, then jump on a mid and struggled to run 38. He has tried numerous other times as well. the ski is extremely fast, but the big killer for him was his onside turn. The ski would come around and then turn striaght and go down course, at any setting. He ran his 35's okay, but we surmize it is due to his open toe binding in back. He can't drive the tail and hold the ski on edge like the dbl boot guys. He says it is probably the fastest ski he has ever been on. I thought he looked very fast behind the boat making up time for so so turns at 35 off. We could be all wet, but just our thoughts on it.  AB
  2. My guess is the length would be in the 6.870 range tips or 6.740 jaws.
  3. oops, sorry John, was in wrong section when I added.
  4. Used sparingly over the last month. Plastic protector still on top. $795 or trade? amjbishop at yahoo dot com
  5. I think a lot of the "pro" settings are too deep and short for the average skier. I include myself in that definition. I also consider myself a Tweaker (but not nearly as addicted as my friends think).
  6. Is the bottom black? I think I have a can of black that Goode uses and can get the name for you.
  7. looks like shallow freeboard and flat bottom. sort of like a Supra.
  8. Agree, that is one we always have them do. Next is the 2-hand drill, keeping a tight line through the wakes on edge to teach them not to be afraid of the wake. Don't start real wide, they will have a tendancy to go to fast early, ski flat, then bounce over the wake. The idea is to be smooth and get the ski on edge at a slower speed so it cuts through the wake. We have them run the mini course (accufloat mid-arm buoys) and then try to get outsdie of the turn buoys on one side and the mini course on the other. Sort of like a game, so it is interesting.
  9. We may have disagreements on ZO, but at least we share a common interest in throwing some water! This is what hooked me on skiing many years ago.
  10. My daughter took this shot from the dock. I always thought it was kind of cool with the droplets hitting the water and all. Just thought I would share. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs083.snc1/5021_1109682793679_1575129759_30255684_3870477_n.jpg
  11. Interestingly, when using my iPhone the link opens up a Lady GaGa video.
  12. We added the Accufloat pre gate sections back when pre gates came out. It easily hooked onto our Accufloat course. We use an anchor at one end and then we used screw in anchors with eyes at the other and route the cable to shore off to one side, using a screw in anchor a few feet off shore going up to a trailer winch mounted on a metal pole that is cemented in the ground.  As water drops, we just go over and give it a few cranks. Has worked well for almost 30 years.
  13.  I am not sure if Ted gets more ribbing for winning or going down early, like he did in the Nationals. I guess that's what friends are for!
  14. Great shooting! Any other video on Ted McColley? He is one of my skiing partners.
  15. We used Cutrine granuals, it does come in liquid though, but that just seemed like pissing in the ocean though to me. CS is cheaper, but also has warning labels about swimming after application, so we went with Cutrene.  We recharge our lake early with dye and that is the medicine. If you wait until June or July, it is too late. Our water is pretty blue, most folks ask where the palm trees are when they ski there the first time. We add acid blue #9 dye and Acid yellow #23 aka Tartrazine . They work on different ends of the ultraviolet spectrum for blocking sun. Use 10:1 blue to yellow ratio. We also added about 50 Amurs over the years, maybe 10 died off intially, so about 40 left. Some are getting pretty big, over 2 feet long. Lake is 18 feet deep, about 2000 feet long, and average about 400feet wide, narrow at one end and over 700' at the other. Butler chemical carries the dyes in powder form. I think for a lake our size, we used 25kg of blue and 5 kg of yellow for the intial charge. Each year we add about half of that early in the season. Inital cost is somewhere around $800 if I remember. Where rubber gloves and long sleeve shirts, the powder gets all over your if not careful. The best is to mix it with water on a calm day in a controlled environment.  http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs100.snc3/16731_331234525537_672250537_9511863_4971625_n.jpg
  16. What is the name of the algae? Our algae was filamentous moss algae. Grows on the bottom and releases brown smelly gradu that floats to the surface.
  17. We spent quite a lot of money on CS / Cutrene etc and then fixed the problem by dyeing the water. No sun no algae.
  18. Actually, I liked the blue Goode fin in the Senate C the best. I also tried the slotfin. To me, that is a skinny guy fin, or at least guys that ski efficiently, which I don't resemble in the slightest.  What did they do to the 2011 Senate C? I am still looking for that magic bullet for my svelte 250lbs.
  19. I liked the 69" Senate C up to 35 off. Didn't turn and hookup at 35 off like my Goode, but I had been on a Goode since they came out. I was 235 to 240 when I skied it. Ran 32's all day at 34 mph. Probably should have kept it.
  20. What are top speed rpm's with the other props? You can overload the engine if you can't at least get into the bottom end of the rpm specs on top end.
  21. Well if ZO mows 'em down early, that can save gas at a tournament. JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Couldn't resist tying a few threads together. .... I still have a sense humor about it.
  22. How is your gas consumption in the 200? We were talking about the new boats and a senior driver was saying that he heard they are seeing about a 30% increase in fuel consumption. That would seem to make sense based on the higher rpm's.
