  1. Thanks, I could easily see the benefit of yaw after CL, but was missing benefits before CL. Tuning and setup then to maximize acceleration of ski? Increase of Ski path angle is simply a result of efficiency. As a mere mortal skier all these years I think I’ve been “ Lookin for love in all the wrong places”. I admire what you guys are doing
  2. Do you find the same benefits from yaw at longer line lengths (>28 off)
  3. I know of no other sport in which Elite athletes are more gracious and accessible than Waterskiing. I am a Wally skier but a super interested enthusiast. The Ballofspray portal is a gift for all of us and thanks to everyone who contributes! P.S. until someone mentioned it I never though twice about audio
  4. Fins, ventrals, wings, boots, ski designs, ropes, Z off settings, fin blocks, asymmetries, textures, steps, etc. on and on. We’re all looking for a better ride and spent a bunch of money on them, but really which of these have stood the test of time.
  5. Love the idea of guest hosts. Ever consider having Lucky Lowe?
  6. Are yaw and smear the same thing?
  7. Well I guess that would cover the range of possible adjustments. Lol!
  8. With and without video would be awesome
  9. Get skier up on two skis drop one. Once skier proficient slowly slow boat down, then back to speed. Next repeat but slow to slower speed, back to speed. Repeat, repeat etc. skier will be able to learn the strong position needed during transition
  10. I have always suggested to parents and players that unless they were willing to make a public declaration, that if they were in officials exact position, and they would have made a contrary call, they shouldn’t make a declaration that an officials call was in error. If time has come in our sport for systematic video review then let it be. Slow motion, freeze frame etc. changes everything (Football, baseball, basketball). Until then the best we can do is pick judges wisely and trust that they will make calls on what they see. I have to wonder if Nate didn’t question whether he made that ball and threw runoff with Thomas by falling at one ball ?
  11. Easy to forget that tv production is based on company’s perception of their viewing market. Wow how it’s changed over the years! I have still some vhs recordings Iof tournaments I made back then.
  12. For the guys that have actually used the fin. When referring to change in drag/work, are we talking about 2%, 5%, 20% or what? What speed and line length? Any video yet? Thanks!
  13. A very nice job by commentators! JT was really great. I’d enjoy listening to that crew anytime
  14. ESPN tonight. Ax throwing, now that actually looks fun
  15. Considering the absence of any information available on this allegation I question the value of this thread. Over 8000 views and I’m sure almost that many impressions of meaning. Not fair for any parties involved Reporting facts when established will actually be news.

    Path Deviation

Several years ago I was at California pro Am and listening to chatter about Driver-Boat A vs B. Then again last summer I followed the Spain Tournament controversy. Got me thinking that some of this could be avoided if a real time metric for boat path was available. Seems that technology is getting close. Drivers may struggle to make the mark
  17. I have a GT -40 and also best friend who is marine mechanic. My suggestion is to have someone come to the lake and see first-hand what’s going on. If you buy unneccesary parts you could be chasing your tail all season. We read some posts on Planet Nautique about problem I was having. His opinion was that most were written by well meaning folk that knew about as much as I did. If problem is past the obvious get professional help. Plus they have the tools

    Path Deviation

Yea wondered about accuracy. Would be cool if it could give immediate feedback to driver in real time or end of pass.
  19. It was a time when we all had dreams of buying a new ski boat and being part if the sport. Boat companies wanted all of us. With the cost of new boats I quit dreaming years ago. Like Horton said, a different time.
  20. Wondering why .005 variation in thickness makes performance difference for a fin that seems rather immune to fin adjustments in other directions?
  21. What speed control is used at Moomba? Hey here's an idea-- use a floating course that can be set free and allowed to float with the river during the pass. Maybe an underwater midline cable used to keep midline centered. 2mph river flows about 3fps.
