  1. I wrote on this early about myself having hip replace in may of 2015, and after reading your posts I'm thinking what the hell are you thinking? You have had major surgery, this isn't just about skiing again this about walking when you are older. You need to look after yourself and not screw this up. if you EVER want to ski again take the time and let your body heal, don't do something stupid. My Physio told me about a patient that she had who surfed, and he went out after 4 weeks after hip replacement, dislocated it really bad and never surfed again and can hardly walk. Don't be an idiot use your head.
  2. I agree with @Razorskier1 and A_B use your meds keep the pain in check it will help you heal. But watch out for the constipation mine was more pain than my hip. The first 2 weeks are not fun but after that it feels better and better every day. Hang in there it will be well worth it
  3. Hey Eric, I'm 54 had a full hip replacement on my right hip on May 18, 2015, riding my bike an hour a day 6 weeks after (no hills) was back to work as a firefighter mid September and was back waterskiing on Oct 14. This season I am back to where I was before surgery (mid 38 off) with no problems. It's the best thing I ever did, should have done it a year earlier, take it easy the first 3 months. Good luck you will be better than ever. This a picture of my first set with my new hip
  4. We use tires to separate our site from a cable park and they work pretty good. Cost is low, tires are free, but takes a lot of labor to put them together and some maintenance.
  5. I have torn both of mine skiing, you will be back in 6 months, hang in there.
  6. I've been using mine for about 4 years and no rust at all, they still look like new
  7. I buy SS nuts and washers and have them wielded together, they work great
  8. Tore my tricep 13 weeks ago, had surgery to reattach it 11 weeks ago and skied on Friday with power vest, it felt great, I have used the vest in the past getting over injuries, it is a great tool to use to keep on the water as you heal up. I don't use the clincher type gloves, had some normal gloves made up to work with the power vest.
  9. Would LOVE to ski on the river on Kauai, got married on Tunnels beach 5 years ago, drove past the river everyday and wanted to ski it, next time I go will bring my ski for sure
  10. We tried using the polyfoam boat guides (air filled) last year on our river course, as we had some issues with our aluminum booms being to heavy and had some a-hole shooting them with a gun. Have used the foam spongex on our course on our lake course for years and they work great
  11. Anyone know what is going on with ski-it-again? It says it is shut down
  12. Hey @sailworks I would like to see the modifications that you have done to your powervest. Also you you done any triceps surgery's? I had mine repaired a week and a half ago, any info would be great. I have a powervest that I have also modified and have used it when recovering from injuries, I think it is great for getting you back on the water a little sooner, thanks.
  13. Hey @horton how is the power vest working? Also how does the repaired bicep tendon feel?
  14. I was boggie boarding in Maui and got slammed into the sand, tore one of the 3 muscles, I still had all the range of motion but not a lot of strength, how did you tear yours? My surgeon told me 3 months before I could ski
  15. @skiinxs how long were you off the water with your torn triceps? I just had surgery on mine 2 days ago. Thanks
  16. I have a Barefoot INT suit in great shape, size large if you are interested
