  1. Agree with @Jmoski that the Camaro material is fragile. Bought Camaro shorts this past summer and after 6 or 7 uses, they started tearing. Contacted them and they would not repair or replace. I will probably purchase a Stokes product for any future needs; I have my eye on the 3/4 but they don't have my size right now.
  2. And I agree with @CBR51 and @"bf`". I also have the blue and green ones.
  3. Yes, thanks. I have two of the recalled units at home and I need to check the two at the lake.
  4. Just curious. Could someone measure and tell me the width of a 66" c-65 under the furthest forward set of inserts? [under the front foot.] Thanks!
  5. Nice selection of other shirt designs as well. I ordered one yesterday.
  6. @swc5150 I am surprised you were not contacted by the government investigating the large cash deposits. Those will attract attention via your bank reporting them, even for deposits under $10,000.
  7. @Horton - No, not directly under an insert.
  8. @Jmoski - I agree with you that it's probably more than just a blemish. But being a small area, and me not being a top-notch skier, I did not demand an exchange when I contacted them. After hearing so much about customer service related to the ski manufacturer and the shop, I thought they would offer a replacement and was disappointed when they did not. Lesson learned, and will consider more buying options next time. I do tend to forget about the rough spots until sometimes when I grab the ski; the spots are mid-ski where you usually grip it getting it in and out of the boat. So that is my experience with a China-made ski; many other buyers do not have any issues at all. Not a political or social-economic philosophy, just a quality control concern based on the ski I was sent.
  9. Summer is still hanging on in Kentucky.
  10. Hopefully the Canadian dealership did actually have inventory insurance so that the net loss is only the deductible.
  11. I was going to post this comment a few months ago when this thread first started, and decided not to then, but here is my experience. I purchased a Made-in-China 2017 Radar Senate Lithium in early summer and there are a few very small raised rough spots (feels a little like sandpaper) on the bottom (water side) of the ski around the mid-front boot area. I personally feel this should have been labeled as a factory blemish ski. I called Radar and the guy I spoke with did not seem concerned and said there is a one year warranty if defects develop. The reputable ski shop from where I bought it said (through e-mail) to keep a watch on the spots. I explained that I would not have purchased this ski off the shelf if I had the opportunity to inspect it in the shop before buying. Since then, in the back of my mind I have been wondering if a Made-in-China ski might have less quality control; not sure and hope not. While I am not 100% happy with this Senate, I was not unhappy enough to go through the hassle of boxing it up and paying to ship it back. I am not a great skier and so the blemish will not affect my skiing, but when you pay $900 to $1,000 (or more) for a new ski, you would expect no blemishes at all. This is my fourth Radar ski, and all of the previous ones have been blemish free. Not sure if this experience will affect my next purchase to consider manufacturing location, but it might. By the way, I have been to China around 25 or 30 times and have visited many factories there. I know that you must keep constant vigilance to maintain good quality control.
  12. @oldjeep I agree; at around $70K, an adjustable rudder tab seems very reasonable. But these newer ProStars sure do have me dreaming of giving up my nice 1998 SNOB for one. If I was a little bit of a better skier, I probably would have already made the switch.
  13. Great job! It sure is nice to see young kids loving water skiing. I know you are proud of him.
  14. Lots of great ideas. Thanks everyone.
  15. The trailer spent its first 17 years garaged, so that's why I am concerned about taking good care of it sitting outside now. OK, I will do what I can for it.
  16. I installed a boat lift on my dock two years ago and the 1998 Ram-Lin trailer has been sitting outdoors, unused since. I put the tires/wheels in the basement to prevent rot, and the trailer is up on blocks. I know it will start rusting at some point (probably has already started) but I really don't want to take up half of the garage for just the trailer. What do some of you do to care for an unused trailer stored outdoors? It looks so sad with the tall grass growing up through it.
  17. Around 7 years ago, I tore a leg muscle when I did not come out of my RS-1's. Ever since then I have been running my Radar boots with slightly snug/loose top laces. Currently on Vapors. Seem to usually release fine, but from time-to-time I will still end up with one foot in and one foot out.
