I was going to post this comment a few months ago when this thread first started, and decided not to then, but here is my experience. I purchased a Made-in-China 2017 Radar Senate Lithium in early summer and there are a few very small raised rough spots (feels a little like sandpaper) on the bottom (water side) of the ski around the mid-front boot area. I personally feel this should have been labeled as a factory blemish ski. I called Radar and the guy I spoke with did not seem concerned and said there is a one year warranty if defects develop. The reputable ski shop from where I bought it said (through e-mail) to keep a watch on the spots. I explained that I would not have purchased this ski off the shelf if I had the opportunity to inspect it in the shop before buying. Since then, in the back of my mind I have been wondering if a Made-in-China ski might have less quality control; not sure and hope not. While I am not 100% happy with this Senate, I was not unhappy enough to go through the hassle of boxing it up and paying to ship it back. I am not a great skier and so the blemish will not affect my skiing, but when you pay $900 to $1,000 (or more) for a new ski, you would expect no blemishes at all. This is my fourth Radar ski, and all of the previous ones have been blemish free. Not sure if this experience will affect my next purchase to consider manufacturing location, but it might.
By the way, I have been to China around 25 or 30 times and have visited many factories there. I know that you must keep constant vigilance to maintain good quality control.
