  1. @Jaypro Sorry to hear about your injuries. Be careful out there!
  2. @dwfrech nice handle guard setup. I am getting some good ideas in this post on enhancing my In-Tow handle guard.
  3. @Horton My lips are sealed.....but this will cost you. Hush money to be determined later...
  4. I too have always seen the "brunette carrying her trick ski."
  5. I use 40w Valvoline VR1 Racing oil in my 1998 GT-40. It contains a high zinc level. Even though Valvoline's headquarters are located here in Lexington, that particular oil is difficult to find on shelves around here. So I buy it online, usually through Amazon.
  6. @waterskigirl Good to know; thanks.
  7. Wish that was a medium; I would take it. I cannot find any in stock now.
  8. I have never used a drone, but yes, you sure did get close to ditching it. Just curious; why can we see the blades in the upper left corner at the 36, 43, and 1:22 marks but not in most other parts of the video? It seems the blades appear when you make a (quick?) right turn. Or are you panning or zooming at those times? Drones are sure allowing for great video views.
  9. @MNshortliner Oh yes, we tried calling her phone with mine, but hers could not pick up a signal; weak signal anyway on the lake, plus 6 feet underwater.
  10. Weekend before last, a friend was starting to help me take the cover off my boat which was on the lift. Her Samsung S7 cell phone fell out of her pocket into the lake in about 6 to 7 feet of water, and after around 20 to 30 minutes of diving and searching, I found it. The water is fairly clean but is not that clear that far down, and the silt would kick up every time I dove down to look, with a scuba mask on. Even though it is advertised as waterproof, I thought for certain that it would not work (or work well) with such a long dip in the lake. After retrieving it, the phone actually worked with just a little bit of speaker distortion which soon cleared up after it completely dried. Still works fine. I was lucky to find it just before a wakeboard boat went past my dock which would probably have caused the phone to shift elsewhere. Moral of the story: Don’t take your phone near the dock. Since we all ignore that, then buy a waterproof phone and don’t give up looking for it on the bottom of the lake. I keep thinking I am going to drop my old non-waterproof Galaxy S III in the lake sooner or later, and then it will be toast.
  11. Which fuel filter did you replace; the high pressure or low pressure?
  12. I agree with both @Chef23 and @Roger. If you have not changed the FCC filter in the past year, try it, and changing spark plugs may help. The FCC filter may last a year or two (or five), but the recommendation is to change every year.
  13. Could be that the low pressure fuel pump needs replacing which is very common on the GT-40 engine. Mine went out last fall on my 1998. If that is your problem, then typically the engine will run great until it hits the operating temperature of 160 degrees, and then will either drop to a rough idle or completely cut out. It's an easy fix to replace.
  14. First, with that much play in the steering, fix it immediately; that is dangerous. Second, I have replaced two steering cables over the years, the last being in my 1998 Nautique this past fall. Not too complicated if you take your time, and take photos of all attachments before you start taking things apart. (I needed those photos for the rudder arm/cable connection adjustment.) Never replaced the part under the helm attached to the steering wheel; not sure if that is your problem. $1,000 might sound high, but if several new parts are being installed plus the labor hours needed, it might not be too far off. It seems any dealer repairs to these boats are expensive because they have a lot of overhead to cover to stay in business.
  15. Ordered a Lithium Senate today. Thanks for letting us know about the sale.
  16. Looks like there's a new Goode in Korea at least.
  17. Congratulations. I am starting to look around to upgrade from my 1998 SNOB. You have a nice 2005.
  18. @Cumby85 Nothing noticeable for me because the tight ski vest helps keeps the water out.
  19. Just like @epnault I have a long-sleeve separate top and shorts, plus another top that is short sleeve. Easy to adapt to varying temps and I rarely use my shorty these days.
  20. Just purchased the Bucket of BABE'S. I hope it keeps my 1998 SNOB looking almost brand new (as it currently does). Yes, most people cannot believe my boat is 19 years old.
  21. @ErikBerghiller The suits looks good and warm. In an earlier post you said you will try wearing the 5mm neoprene shoe in your rear boot. Have you tried to see if it will fit into the boot yet? Do you have something else to wear on your foot for your front boot?
  22. I still like Buoy, or maybe Green Buoy to be a little different. But Onside or Offside are possibilities.
