  1. This is weird and awkard. Fortunately on Amazon, they show great reviews then the not-great reviews. My review: ordered an X-series line on sale from S-Lines as it was supposed to be similar to the "black rope" I typically ski. It was on sale, great customer service and quick shipping for a total of $87. I stretched it pre-ski then took 4 sets on it while Msscoke skied a set on it. She didn't ski that great and didn't say much. My buoy count was down about 4 buoys as the rope was way too stretchy. It was rough. Went back to my black rope, back to baseline. Thought maybe it was my rope so I tried another skiers X-series rope that has been skied. Same exact results as too much delay on the rope. Not a good thing. Msscoke spoke up later and said the rope didn't feel good and was too bouncy, springy and spongy. That rope, if you are a bigger guy (more then 180 lbs) you probably will end up skiing with bad habits. It's almost like simulating a ski that is too narrow. You'll get too deep out of the buoy, too delayed on the swing etc. Buyer beware. I ordered 2 new ML black ropes last week and am already skiing on them. Also, X-series rope for sale. Has a total of 5 sets on it. $13 or ship me a 6 pack of voodo ranger IPA and you pay shipping on the rope. OR i am going to throw it in the trash. Similar in nature to the this thread and post on September 8, 2022.
  2. Strong set in the books last night after digesting my coaching video, back on track For today: I’ll sponsor a skier at the $35 rate using the BVCS coached by Mr. Fred. No catch, no trick no bs. I believe in entrepreneurship, coaching and people bringing value to the market. Which this system and the coach does. We’ll work out the payment details as I can reimburse or I’ll pay John directly. The first baller that says “I’ll take you up on it”, the spot is yours. Two little caveats: Have to be right foot forward. Can’t ride a deniali. Let’s make it happen! Get your free/sponsored set and post a review after.
  3. Good news, no pickelball in my immediate future. This was some of the best spot on coaching I've gotten in a long time. I've got immediate action items to morph into my big rocks and things that are holding me back from running actual buoys. Steal of a price at $35. Anyone else considering it? Does not matter how early you are in the season it is, worth every penny. Thank you John and Mr. Fred.
  4. Sold. I didn't realize you could just pay by credit card without having a paypal account. Looking forward to seeing what Mr. Fred has to say. If he says "take up pickball mate". So be it as i'll quit posting and start posting on pickleballsoffun.com.
  5. Sign me up. You have a dedicated slalom I can use? I'll bring my own rope and vest! IPA's or gas cash too.
  6. Since your free-skiing and not behind zero off, wouldn't something like a Senate Pro Carbon type of ski be much easier to ride and more forgiving? And much cheaper? I'm looking to order one of these in Large or another brand for my weird height and weight. Just struggling to get video of anyone actually running real buoys besides from the manufacturer. Just lots of words and promises.
  7. Your 24 second spray outbound to buoyline is part of my mental model: your left elbow your left hip your handle with two hands, bent arms out to the buoy line. your straightening your legs to keep your com neutral balance point on your ski as you swing connected. So curious how I could execute better from your eyes. Seriously. now your “out of” 24, that’s a different story haha
  8. You still doing the $10 thing? I’ll give it a try!!! im a Luddite so I might have to pony express you a check.
  9. @VONMAN great to hear and that’s a lot of words. Since no video, for context: what speed/line length are you running? Cutting the rope? what boat and single puck or dual puck? thanks.

Saturday I was very sad. Msscoke wanted to water ski at Okeeheelee so I loaded up the boat, checked the battery and made darn well I had a prier (props to teammalibu), whacker and yardstick to adjust my boots for the water temperature. Before we left, I asked a skier what the water temperature was to make sure I could block off an hour moving my boots before I skied. Maybe even retaping my ski as I move my boots every set and then make fin changes between sets based on the dew point vs humidity vs octane and UV index. The skier sent me this pic, i couldn't make heads or tails of it, the units baffled me. Then I checked my ski log as I couldn’t figure out what to do as I’ve never seen anything like that!! So we stayed home, ate a pizza and was semi-sad.
  11. That’s a smokin deal and amazing since the skis have been only produced for a few weeks it seems. what is wrong with the ski or why didn’t you return it and get your money back?
  12. Any updates from boat video from anyone on this new ski? Is there a trial period for this ski like most manufacturers?

For Goode brand skis and the southern states, as the water warms up move the boots back 1/16 and maybe 2/16 Depending on the skier. and vice versa. For most of the Goodes, there is a sweet spot, 64-72: 72:82: 82+ So initial setup of your ski matters greatly as where you are standing on the ski in regards to the water temp.

oh shoot. Forgot about that. oh no, I mixed 87 octane with 93 octane. my boots are in the wrong spot, no wonder I am squatting a pulling across the boat and a 4@32 off skier!!!

That’s a valid point. yes most goode skiers who run real buoys have it down and don’t blink at moving the boots fwd/aft with water changes. I’ve seen a few D3 guys make the change too. maybe more skiers need to do the same? related note “why”. As the water warms or cools, the ski changes the way it sits in the water. We are losing our balance point like a teeter totter. We need to move our connection point to be back of the balance point and all will be well. if you never think you are on the balance point, that’s the first step in the process. Jam them forward until to plows at 135!!!

A few brand of skis, one rule of thumb applies. For every 8 degrees of water temperature change and a range move the boots about 1/16 or nearly 2/16. Being April, if folks have been skiing, it's time to make the change. Some brands of skis you want the boots far forward to the feeling of forebody plowing at 135 as a righty, then move them back 1/16.
  17. Sounding like this could be the breakout ski of the year. what is the lead time in shipping or are they made to order? Anyone have video from the boat of the ski in action? @VONMAN @BlueSki
  18. @VONMAN Did you get closure or success with the numbers for that ski? Any video as I remember you are over 6' and are a bigger guy? I'm interested in that ski as I saw two of them at Okeeheelee this weekend.
  19. Running 35’ from the whitewash as a turn in point due to drifting on the gate while behind 6..2L engine with single pick zero off but can’t run 38? Uhhhhh. Something smells. the video or pic you posted looks like an older Malibu with probably perfect pass yes? got video from the boat?
  20. This thread is probably the most bizarro backwards technical information posted on here. For the guys standing up during the boat is in the greens or looking at the greens in the glide:
  21. I'm interested in September. Sounds interesting as we've been wanting to get to northen Itlay. Fly into Milan? Have airport pickup or need to rent a car? Looks like decent flights Miami-Milan. In your title you used the word "Free". Do you mean "Open" spots or it's a free trip to Ballers and just need to get there.?
  22. Ditto. All I see is FEARRRRRR. DON'T CRASH! The current path is of a very long journey of being a 15 off at 34 mph skier as an accomplishment. Then one day a break through and ending the journey as a mid-pack squat and puller with an average of 4@32 off on a good day. Why not learn and break it now? Upgrade the ski to something like a Senate-C, practice lean drills per the Britdudes videos linked below my post. Try, learn, take some spills and recognize you're not going to die. Repeat. Get over it.
