  1. Well that stunk. Nobody wanted to put their money where their mouth was. How about Round 2 and end result? I'll even lay odds on the situation. 2:1 etc.
  2. Surprised nobody stepped up and wanted to actually commit to choosing 3. We can narrow it to 2 if you’d like. Dirt was the closet to the commitment but he must have been flying as his reading skills about adding a third were lacking. I like the crown though and would commit to my 2 vs his 2. Anyone else confident to step up and commit? Crown?Ipa? I’m flexible.
  3. @BS74 Shall we play a game? 1) choose a 3rd and it can’t be B Carter 2) whoever has 2 in the finals wins 3) if it’s 1 and 1 we push 4) it it’s a 1 and 0, that’s a win. IPA? Any other challengers?
  4. Ok they are only taking 2 open women's skiers. It's been a battle so far and exciting to watch. Top 2 scores from either round advances. I've got continuing on: 1. Brooke Baldwin 2. Paige Rini Brie Carter as my backup #2. Who have you got and why?
  5. @epnault This is fascinating. What other sports do you have as hobbies? What speeds/line lengths do you typically start at and run? What's your tournament PB?
  6. Apologize if I missed it, does a skier have to ski all 3 events (unless they come qualify at the first event)? Meaning, can someone show up at stop #2 only? Any word on Jamie Bull?
  7. Well, according to the thread below, you are doing everything right as your shoulders are tilted greatly at the turn and your arms are bent across the boat and you're not running 41 in practice. Maybe you need to swap your ski out with one based science? Otherwise, I got nothin. https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/25209/reinvent-my-onside/p2
  8. Two 13" masterline handles and 1 Intow Handle. Not partial to who does them and what method!!
  9. We've got 3 handles badly in need of restringing. Our winter go-to gentleman from Colorado sadly passed away while our backup option also passed away. Does anyone have any recommendations for their favorite handle restringers? Any options out there? If you don't want to post, please send me a direct message as we've run out of options! Thank you.
  10. Attended a tournament this weekend (Sunday). It was a class C. Hat's off to them as they voluntarily hustled to buy a Surepath system, survey their course and have their drivers familiarize with it in advance. On Sunday, they completed the process and had it running in WSTIMS scoring program live and in color. It worked, well. Very cool to see it working as well as a compliment to their dedication when they didn't have to by any means. They didn't have to do it but seemed they knew it would make everyone across the board better in some capacity. If someone is not on board with something like this, then there is something not quite right. We should be asking why not?
  11. Well I was wrong, the water temp is actually crossing to 80 degrees yesterday evening. If you're in Tampa/Orlando or other and looking to ride a few skis, it's an option for you!
  12. @brettmainer hopefully if you’re not skiing you’re making money! Just got word, Martin will have the full range of skis with him. I’m tempted to try a wide ride or a fresh 68” revolution carbon core. Water was 75.8 last evening according the weather station. Our boat had 76 ha If you’re considering coming, plenty of options!
  13. Okeeheelee is skiing great. Water is about 76 and should be warming up for Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of folks skiing all day. All three lakes have been ski able in the morning. If anyone from out of town is thinking of driving in to test a few skis, you are more than welcome to ski behind our boat. (2019-200, 6.0L). Send me a message or get in touch with me and we'll see what we can do.
  14. @Drago Not sure what you are talking about. Could you please post "the list" or details from it you are referring? I was just looking at the scores from the tournament compared to typical scores.
  15. It’s refreshing to see two guys step up on lost bets. Still have 1 Welcher outstanding. Let’s go double or nothing! Your definition of systemic is different then mine for sure. How about prediction on over/under on scores that were officially downgraded or adjusted at that tournament? Let’s set the over/under at:13 scores got adjusted. I'll take the over. That sure sounds kind a very high number with a tournament with no major systemic issues doesn’t it? My favorite comment in this thread is “eating our volunteers”. So now accountability, integrity are to be frowned upon while looking at data and agreed to metrics? Sure smells like an ol boys drivers club feeling threatened. versus being open, supportive, taking a breath and saying we have to get better.
  16. As it stands today, 3 people welched on bets. If ANY of the records would have passed, those folks would be squawking about me paying up. Which I would! (shout out to a bottle of wine I owe to a okeeheelee skier on a lost bet ;) )
  17. Being from southern Canada, wouldn't it make sense that you start on the water training now?. @swbca maybe there is a skier that has relocated from your area to somewhere much warmer like Milton Florida. Ski Watch is a great place and very accommodating. You should start skiing there. Is there someone that posts even in this thread that skis there?
  18. I like this website. But damn it’s gonna be a long winter in southern Canada, Minnesota.
  19. @wettek69 Your opinion and position is very curious to me. Could you share more details about your experience? What starting speed and line length? What’s your height and weight? Thanks mate.
  20. Surepath for a non-techie: The box arrived as planned straight from the UK. Very well packed and self-explanatory. Youtube video link was great too. Setup: The unpacking of the box took more time than the actual setup of the system in the boat. It appears the majority of the kinks have been worked out and this is an established product. We took a small mesh bag and loaded all the components in it then hung the bag on the pylon. We used a cell phone charge pack, about the size of a deck of playing cards, and put that in the mesh bag for the puck power source. This method made it a self contained system with no wires running in the boat. Four days (Thursday – Sunday) I ran the system in our boat. For communication, we used an Iphone (Verizon) as the hotspot. Didn’t have any issues as we just made sure the system was ready to go for the next skier. Overnight I charged the Iphone. We didn’t have to charge the Surepath phone or the battery pack for the GPS. Sunday evening I put everything to charge ready for weekday skiing. Easy system to use from the setup side, especially from a non-techie person! Driving perspective, within 3 sets it was worth every penny we spent on it!
  21. Easy fix. Some guys "Squat and Pull" meaning they bend their knees, drop their ass back and pull across the boat with bent arms. They'll never own any real buoys. There has been thread after thread on here and videos of guys skiing that way. incorrectly. Other batch of guys "Pull but kinda lean". They roll the ski on a nice edge, their shoulders are pulled back 1 notch but their arms are bent and they are "pulling" themselves across the boat. That's you. Therefore you are "arm skiing" the entire pass versus using your legs and ski as a pendulum. The arms should be part of the connection, not the system making things happen. You are artificially swinging versus using the energy of the boat. Owning 35' will be near impossible at 36 using your arms. Freeze frame Nate, Freddie, Will etc. at the first spray and through centerline. Just focus on their arms. Now do the same. You'll see their arms are straight so the load is transferred into their lower half, thus creating swing energy. Until you change your approach of your arms, you'll be putting a band-aid on a broken leg.
  22. (place holder) I'll post something meaning full when i've got time to find my previous links. Watching your videos and then your previous post, the issue is not "get your butt up" but it's your fundamental thinking of what position you are supposed to be in. All these coaches are telling you the facts but your mind is fighting it and refusing to commit/believe/comprehend/over come objections. You can have another 15 people tell you the same thing, it's not going to help. The issue is your core fundamental theory of skiing is built incorrectly on "squatting and pulling" versus "leaning with your frame".
  23. huh, I was going to go the other way: 1) Don't be frustrated when you are minus 6 buoys when you ski tournaments or behind zero off. Go ahead and chalk up 2@35 as your score if you're training behind perfect pass. 2) Skiing behind perfect pass is like playing tic-tac-toe while skiing behind zero off is like playing chess. 3) if you're serious about tournament skiing, invest in a zero off boat. If not, you'll be wasting a year of skiing then asking yourself "why didn't I do that earlier?" But since there are guys in this thread who run PB's after skiing behind PP, saying train behind PP and ZO will be easier due to your speed, none of my theories from above hold true and are all incorrect. So disregard them! We'll really see about 8 weeks into the tournament season though.
