  1. I do think there should be some sort of age range. I'm all for opening it up more than just the current 2 years(which is stupid), but I don't want to drive an hour to get somewhere where they've got a jalopie of a 92 Malibu with 2500 hours to ski behind. Say 5 years from current model. That'd include a LOT of boats and would give people the incentive to buy something new.ÂÂ
  2. I guess my thought was that your plan adds $30 to the price of a 3 round tournament. Unless I'm misunderstanding. Thats about a 40% increase. A lot of the skiers in my area have families that ski. The husband, wife and 2 kids all enter. That's a $120 increase in the cost of a tournament and I don't think that'll go over too well.
  3. Now that's an interesting idea, John. Although I think $10 per tournament set might be a bit excessive. $5 and the gas would be more like it. Require 3 year and newer. You'd have people falling all over themselves to provide boats.
  4. Damnit, now I'm cleaning up the coffee I just spit out of of my mouth, TW!
  5. I used to drive to Austin and Shreveport from Houston when the pro tournaments came there. But that was way back in the mid to late 90s. I'd probably still make that drive if there was a solid pro or invitational tournament with a top rate entry list.
  6. lkb, The SC is a very forgiving and easy ski. It doesn't punish you. It's got the stability of the D3 skis, but the speed of the RS1(almost). If you're late and you stomp on the front end, it turns hard but doesn't stall. It doesn't carry your momentum past the apex like the RS1 does, but it carries it a lot better than a Goode. It's very much a new school type of ski, IMO. If you stay countered behind the boat, have good counter rotation at the ball and keep your head up, you'll love it. That said, what makes you think you want to ditch the Warp? Is it not forgiving enough? Not stable? Just curious.
  7. I'm a big fan of the RS1's. Love em. The loser I've run them, the better i ski. Before the RS1's I tried Obrien Bios and absolutely hated em. I set myself back half a season trying to make them work. Big mistake.
  8. Got about 10 sets on the Senate C so far. Damn this is a nice ski. It really rolls up hard on edge at the finish up the turn with the tip way down. On every ski I've skied on I've had to run the bindings forward. Not on this one. The RS1 feels like it carries a bit more speed through the finish of the turn but the SC really puts me in a nice position.
  9. There's definitely an art to getting a pullover vest off. First time I wore the oneil a few years back, I didn't bother to read the instructions. Damn near strangled myelf with my arms stuck above my head and the jacket pulled up over my head. At a damn tournament in front of everyone. Geez, I must have looked like a complete moron! hahaha
  10. Absolutely. Pictures of the attachment points and hardware would be great! Thanks!
  11. I never thought of having the zip in windshield. I'm gonna have to have my upholstery guy add that for me!
  12. I almost hate to say it, but my favorite boat to ski behind is the 02 American Skier Elan. Now that boat has to be the worst, most dangerous boat to ever have to drive. But it has a sweet wake. The new Response feels like it has a 4 ft tall wake to me. But my tournament pb is behind it. I hate to drive them though because you sit so low in them. I feel like I should be on the streets of Oakland, low riding it with my MAC10 next to me. LOL My favorite to drive and ski behind is the current generation of CC 196.
  13. Super Dave! After skiing on the Senate C, I'm probably going to get rid of the RS1. It fits my skill level right now better than the RS1. Plus it sure takes a lot of the strain of getting out of the water off that torn muscle. Give me a shout this week at 281.686.4272.  Shane
  14. Ed, The RS1 is faster and lighter than the MPD.ÂÂ
  15. My new Senate C w/ Annex Graphix showed up yesterday. WhooHoo. Hope to get out this weekend to try it beside my RS1. After tearing a ham in 05 and tearing a rhomboid in my back last year, I wanted something that was a bit easier on me. I love the RS1, but the 67 RS1 is noticably harder to get out of the water(which is where I feel both injuries the most) than the 68 RS1.
  16. Another thought is that by limiting boat usage to awsa tournament approved boats, you've effectively limited boat draft to 24-28". This is a big consideration in a shallow lake. I've seen some lakes who's HOA rules specifically allowed current and former AWSA approved towboats, not just the current towboats.
  17. Damn, you be old! ;) Happy Birthday!
  18. John, I love topics like this. There's no where else on the net where you can have this cross section of skiers discussing things like this. The average skier can learn a ton just by reading what some of you guys throw out.
  19. Very nice, Adam. Very cool to see Andy explaining the design of his ski as you did. When are you going to have production geared up?
  20. I put the schnitz slot fin/mini wing on my RS1 and love it. It definitely helped me with my toe side turn.
  21. I find the RS1 very forgiving. It is easily the fastest ski behind the boat, turns wicked hard and carries the speed on my toe side. Keep your mass over the top of it and it will just turn and go. I had a tendancy to stomp on the front of the ski before. I can't do that on the RS1 because that's the one thing that will cause it to stop. So really, it's kind of helped to cure one of my bad habits.
