  1. @Than_Bogan Because there is a better one....
  2. On average I estimate 10 skiers per hour. More if its windy. Less if it's kids divisions and they are going 20ish MPH skiing 6 passes. Funny you mentioned that about the "old days" in M3. My first year it was at Bennett's. 60 some odd skiers. We live about a hour fifteen away and I was seeded pretty high. I well remember taking a practice set at home and texting friends in Zachary to see who was on the water (in M3). Worked out very well. Could not do that this year as I think there are 7 or 8 M3 slalom skiers in M3 for SC Regionals.
  3. Connelly Shadow STiletto HO VTX X7 9100 Nano These are obviously from my years in the sport only. Lots of other really great skis. These are the ones that come to mind as game changers.
  4. I just assumed that TCS was driving. If it's a slalom World Record it's usually Chad at the wheel. BTW... What's up with the Hancock weekday tourneys. Wasn't it one of those where Freddy broke the jump record? Makes me want to skip work and hit a tourney!
  5. Congrats to Regina! An absolutely great person who I have enjoyed watching since collegiate times. It will be fun to see her at 43' one of these days...
  6. It takes time and patience. My wife is an excellent short line driver, but it wasn't always that way. Twenty+ years ago she cured any complaints I had about her driving by leaving me in the lake. At the far end of lake 2 at Bennett's to be exact. I have been very tactful with any driving suggestions since....
  7. Stock binding location. Stock DFT with my length and depth on the fin. Straight up the line...
  8. I took the strap off an old life jacket, cut it, and attached either end to the bottom of the passenger seat on either end. The other ends met like a seat belt across the passenger seat. Put the child car seat on the boat seat and buckle in as normal. (when not it use just leave under the seat) Baby gets to watch some skiing... Bruce is right. They usually pass out pretty quick. Do use a shock tube when doing this. We are not a family of handle poppers, but better safe.
  9. Just watched this. As a lefty I have most all of the errors noted. Thanks for sharing...
  10. I been away from skiing a bit. It gives you some perspective. We make this way more complicated than it should be. Just stand up straight. It will feel weird and unstable at first, but commit to it and do it anyway. This takes true commitment. You will have to want to stand up more than you want to turn, run the pass, or anything else. Those things are secondary if you want to truly want to make a change. Good luck.
  11. Why not just re power what ever boat with a new engine and current ZO? I'm sure Jody has put a number on this in the past, but how much would it be for that if I pull up with my (insert boat model here).... Yes. I understand that trick wakes will make a difference for some, but otherwise if it tracks well and has good spray characteristics most skiers are GTG.
  12. The Jones crew will be there. I really like it when we go to new sites/states. Hope the turn out is good.
  13. This is obviously purely and opinion, but it seems that you should be able to buy a base model in the 40k range and load it up for 60k. When I say base that includes the powertrain and cruise control system. No fluffy stuff.
  14. Without clearly defined and consistent parameters you do not have a "sport". If not, you can have something that's fun to do, but you might as well just take a vote on who had the biggest spray and call it good.
  15. (FWIW) I was speaking with a skier from Europe yesterday. They don't follow BOS and were unaware of any controversy. They said that this was an extremely good side where people commonly had PBs and the high scores were not surprising.
  16. "That is a lot of nonsense to fix what wasn't broken..." Spot on
  17. Golffjy It's never too early to make a statement on the internet....
  18. From a distance I see a lack of consistency vs. a lack of big scores. I've skied against these guys for some time now. The number of missed 38's after trips to 41 is what sticks out. Some (most) of the top guys just don't miss that pass...
  19. Ladies and Gentlemen, I can't thank you all enough for the help that you have been. Adelaide has had some local businesses that were able to make bigger contributions, but the vast majority came from people giving $50 to $200. Our base was definitely "a mile wide". There is strength in numbers. Don't ever think that when opportunities like this come up that a small amount doesn't matter. It does and I thank you....
  20. I can't thank you guys enough! Just so you know, in the last 24 hours she has received right at 50% as much in donations from the BOS crew as during the entire time since her first post 6 weeks ago. Way to pull through in crunch time! We have 12 hours left.....
  21. Last call guys. My girl has put in some work over the past 3 months. Any help in finishing strong is appreciated!
  22. What he is doing is really amazing. It's not that there are not other amazing skiers out there right now either. He is just at another level and consistently so.
