  1. Certainly there is more load, but I believe a fair bit of the stress/work is self inflicted. Recently a Sr. boat judge and I were talking after a tournament. She mentioned to me how much my body language changed from pass to pass. 28 and 32 very chill. A bit more intense at 35. Way more intense at 38 and then ramp that up even more for 39. (Horton may not remember this but he noticed something similar in Destin 25 years ago) Anyway. I thought about this a great deal as I had no idea that I was doing it. I've purposely told myself to chill out with each pass in practice as the line shortens and it does make a difference. Yes there is more load at shorter rope, but the fluidity of the movement matters. (Sorry if this is off topic)
  2. I suppose painting one yourself is out of the question???
  3. Skied behind it at a 6 round weekend recently. I was in for the first round, then on the trailer for the rest of the tournament...
  4. I was thinking that she had been into 41 before.
  5. I think we have a 64" Radius in the rafters that was my wife's back in her Jr. Girls days... Very cool
  6. A good man gone too soon.
  7. The Reflex one doesn't really stay on worth a flip. Better off making your own as suggested.
  8. Stay with the kicker on back. Wish that I would have years ago...
  9. If this is a change, get it checked out. I was anemic and had really low thyroid function found in my bloodwork. Eventually led to the diagnosis of Lymphoma. Not trying to scare you at all, but you do need to pay attention to things that are out of the ordinary. I ignored my issues just chalking it up to "getting older" for way too long.
  10. Can you apply for en exemption from the public water designation given it's surrounded and has no public access?
  11. I may try the pro gear, but if they are similar to the Miami gloves it will likely be a no go. I know this sounds crazy, but in our lake the Miami gloves feel "slick". When I'm at other lakes they feel fairly tacky, but at home it feels like there is no stick.
  12. I've use Tail 41's since they came out as the Rossi Pro Model back in the day. Didn't notice much difference between the red and yellow versions. I did buy a pair of the new Tail 41's with the ribbed back at Nats. I have only one set on them and hated the feel after the first pass. The back makes them feel much looser and I could feel them sliding on my palm. The voice of reason (my wife) said to give them a few passes. By the end of the set I had forgotten I didn't like them..
  13. It cut the back and built a bondo footbed that mimics the one that Reflex sells. Regular black boot. (I'm not sure either really matter...)
  14. I read the comment about "every ski I own/owned sits in the sun..." yesterday and started to reply. Got busy and didn't. Thought about it on the dock again this afternoon reminding my daughter to move her ski out of the sun and decided to come back and finish it. I can't see not wanting to care for an investment of up to $2,000 plus bindings. Even if you aren't concerned from the standpoint of it totally falling apart, most of us spend an untold amount of time and money chasing buoys. If there is any chance that my ski getting up to 140-150 deg sitting in the sun will hurt my buoy count I'm bagging it and putting in the shade! This may just be a personal/anal thing for me, but I've been on/off Goode skis since '96 and never had an issue...
  15. I had some green polyforms that died prematurely several years ago. No issues since.
  16. I haven't seen any results in the normal places. Am I missing them somewhere?
  17. We have such a great family sport! Congrats on the addition...
  18. Our entire family is on Reflex including 80# 12 year old. She has probably been on it for slalom for 2-3 years now without issue. They work very well and have a long track record.
  19. I did not know that about Liz Allan. Sweeping a worlds is impressive in any era! It's a bit pointless (if fun) to try to choose the "best" in any event. You really can't argue against Nate for men's slalom, but it would certainly be fun to see what TWinter would be running if the same height...
  20. I have to say it's been a long time since I was interested in riding a Connelly, but seeing people on it at pro events and the Carter girls at a recent record have me curious...
