  1. Here is my "unofficial" and likely incorrect bracket for the 16. I made this from hard to read sheets so don't give me grief, I'm no Marc Shaw.
  2. Are you guys putting on the Vectors when they are dry or do you dip in the water first? I have to use a plastic cutting board as a shoe horn to keep the heel from collapsing when I put them on. My foot is at top end of the size range.

    bimini

http://www.gmitopdesign.com/first-e.html Nice bimini, good price. They are Canadian, shipping price is not bad but look for a small charge on the credit card for currency exchange. I bought a black one and it is great even in the Texas sun.
  4. Jerry Goodson was skiing against Kris and fell near where we were sitting. Jerry walked out of the water and tossed his Big Dawg ski bib to a 12 yr old spectator. It was a great moment. This was that kid's first time to ever see a ski tournament. I bet he sleeps in that bib tonight.
  5. Marc Shaw has nice results spreadsheet that he updates during the event. MarcShaw.net there are 2 sheets - one with round 1 scores and 1 with Sunday's bracket. Great skiing today despite the rain. There was a 5 way run-off for final 3 spots. Cold 38s. Joe McCreary - 5@38 Jeff Kepchia - 3@39 and rolled onto the shore Tim Huston - 4@39 Bruce Dodd - 2.5@38 Mike Dehlinger 2.5@39 Favret missed handle in round 1to score 1.5 @ 35. He had to beat 1 @41 to get into 16 so he made 1.5. Matt Brown did not ski round 2, he was in 16 with 2@ 41.
  6. It has been over 100 degrees but the weekend will see a high of 91, winds SSE at 6mph. Looking forward to attending both days. I heard the wait list is down to 1.
  7. I tried a bunch via Web that were all too short. One was known as the Dallas Cheerleader vest. Finally went to Eagle for a custom fit.
  8. Might try themalibucrew.com forum too
  9. H20smosis shows Eagle on website too. http://www.h2oproshop.com/ No experience with it or the Elite. Overton's offers it and the similar O'Brien Elite. USA Waterski members get a 10% discount coupon from USA WS site. Overton's has the Elite vest on sale at 50% off http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=HO-Syndicate-Point-Vest&i=613033&r=view&aID=600H1C&cvsfa=2587&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=363133303333&s_kwcid=goobasecontent_goobasecontent_filler&cID=SHOP
  10. I contacted Goode and they say: "The material used by Goode and Overton's should be pretty similar so the fading should be the same. The Goode buoy domes can be turned inside out so that you could use both the inside and outside of the dome if there is any fading. The replacement cost for a single dome would be $20."
  11. Are they more or less prone to color fading than Overton's ski balls? How do they fare against tubers and boarders? Do they require more up keep?
  12. and can't find the yellow loop? Get some board shorts...Those swim trunks came from the 1978 Eastern Regionals.
  13. This is a nice alternative to crutches for those with ankle foot injury. http://iwalk-free.com/
  14. Wow - 2 comments while I was crafting my response! What a forum!
  15. If the cable if properly mounted at the helm - Maybe you need to tune the rudder? After installing a new steering cable in my Ski Nautique it had the same issue. Not only was there play in the wheel but it was difficult to maintain position in the course. The boat's adjustable rudder tab appeared to be in the normal position. I took off the steering wheel and made sure it was put on in the correct way. Steering/Tracking was very annoying. I loosened the adjustable rudder tab and re-positioned it. Now there is pressure on the steering with zero play. Problem solved. My previous boat was a 97 Outback and it did not have an adjustable rudder. If that is still the case and you decide to tune your rudder by grinding - then do the proper research and take very small steps.

  17. Thanks Than. BTW - this is for the resident ski goddess. My handle is a cut down barrel of a Louisville Slugger, strung with 3/8" galvanized wire rope.
  18. Is Connelly the only company making a small diameter elliptical 12" handle? Their Proline Prophecy is the perfect sized handle but it only lasts about half of a season before the rubber wears down to the core. Using Amara palm gloves. http://www.adrenalinewatersports.com/proddetl.aspx?ID=710&CatID=10&SubID=83&pg=0
  19. Be careful throwing dye packs out from the shore. A neighbor's yellow lab saw LakeOneSkier throw a dye pack in the lake. The dog retrieved it and ended up with a blue tongue.
  20. The magnets we use http://www.skiertoskier.com/ float naturally in water with North pointing up.
