  1. Using the surface area data and the recommended weight range in the above mentioned Radar brochure you get the following PSI values for the Vapor. Notice how the force drops for lighter skiers. 69.5" >0.503 68" 0.477 - 0.583 67" 0.436 - 0.546 66" 0.352 - 0.506 65" 0.329 - 0.420 63.5" 0.252 - 0.356
  2. The best material I've found is 1/16" Polypropylene, 3400 psi tensile strength and I can make 8 out of a piece that costs $6 http://www.grainger.com
  3. My wife drives for me frequently and never skis but still enjoys being out on the water. Occasionally she asked to have a turn which means swimming or riding around (on public lake). A key ingredient is giving feedback on her driving without seeming overly critical.
  4. @Mateo Vargas your comment about the Silver Strada being stiffer than the Vapor caught my attention. I went back and checked my notes and my 68" Vapor is stiffer than my 68" Silver Strada at each measurement.
  5. I have a 99 Nautique that I bought this spring. Same problem. The prop looked fine but the problem went away when I swapped props. The prop looked fine but one blade was so far out that it couldn't be rebuilt.
  6. @chrisrossi and @eddie_roberts_jr I love a lot of things about my Vapor but one that doesn't get much mention is how it skis in rough or rolly water. I can pretty much ignore the water conditions which is real important since our course is on a public lake.‌‌
  7. I release my binding and get in the boat with it on my foot, then take it off in the boat. For my rear foot, I release my r-style and leave the liner on my foot until I'm in the boat. Something that I've added to my r-style thick liner is a tightening cord. I stole this Idea from David West. It keeps the tongue against the foot and makes the r-style much more comfortable.
  8. Rear binding back, Rear binding rotated toward little toe, Fin forward, Reduce fin surface area. All these will help on-side but with various impacts in other areas.
  9. Lynn, I suspect that what changed was the way you are putting your back foot in. That is, doing it in a way that causes you lean your front foot back. I may be all wrong though.
  10. I improved my Vapor on side by moving the fin forward 0.07 with no hit to the off side.
  11. Lynn, I don't use a rear toe plate but have found that with the white cuff Reflex that I can lean my front foot back far enough to cause the front binding to release. I use the r-style rear and almost always put both feet in on the platform. I have experienced what you are describing when trying to get my back foot in while in the water.
  12. Drop the 15off loop. It's not fundamentally different from 22off. This will get you more attempts at 28off. Slow the boat 1mph at 28off till you make it, then speed up.
  13. The settings that are working best for me are between the Rossi and Reni settings. 68" 30.25 6.882 2.48 7.62 but I agree that this ski will work with a variety of settings. I was able to ski both the factory settings.
  14. Not Seth but did you look at this article? http://www.waterskimag.com/features/2014/04/01/effective-slalom-technique/
  15. I have an eagle drysuit. The front zipper is great, the fit is great, just doesn't keep me dry. I was dry the first season I had it. The second season the seams started leaking. Now (third season) it's close to useless. Ankle, wrist and neck seals work fine. Same thing happened to another skier who bought hers right before I bought mine. Eagle doesn't have a warranty on the seams. I'm looking to purchase an Adrenaline (3 year warranty on seams) or OS Systems (2 year warranty on seams).
  16. I agree with Krlee. The one I use is Ped Egg. Also Overton's has palm protectors with free shipping

  18. @inboardfix can you post a picture of the turnsoft buoy? It looks like OB may have posted a picture or a link but my firewall blocked it.
  19. Rich, I agree wih everything you said but I still think this is a good question
  20. What ski works better than average in less than ideal conditions?
  21. Plus 3 on the Strada. My daughter is on a 2011 that I bought for <$300
  22. @Texas6 I stood next to Nate at the Masters and was basicly looking him eye to eye. I'm 6'1"
