  1. @Horton I think the only ski school boats that pull tournaments would be pulling tournaments at their own sites, Swiss, Fluid (Action - Dealer), Travers, McCormicks. These boats rarely leave the site of their business to go pull other tournaments, but these sites are responsible for a number of tournaments in central Florida. It is their business to pull skiers & tournaments are a way to promote their site/business.
  2. I already have 15 tournaments on the books and more than likely will add another 5-7. I normally go to around 20 a year. Things in the south seem normal so far. @Horton the Southern Region pushed back on being forced to compensate promo owners with an hourly rate. We agreed there should be compensation in different ways (hours, entry, food, hotel, travel $) but that should be negotiated between the LOC & the owner, not mandated by the AWSA. @The_MS as much as you complain about the issue at your site have you or any of the other guys on the lakes looked into becoming a promo owner or going in together on one?
  3. @RazorRoss3 Mitch, praying for you and your family. Your dad was one of a kind and I was lucky to have met him!
  4. I use the selfie camera on my iPhone 8 with no issues on a Wakeye.
  5. The advanced search function on desktop has gone away too.
  6. @CollinSpradlin There are a number of things that come to mind. What is fin flex or the micro-just just to get things rolling.
  7. @lpskier Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens comes to mind as well. Pro Tour stop back in 2005. Heard that place was nasty.
  8. Some discussion on the topic here: https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/comment/385166
  9. All slalom scores were thrown out by IWWF. Even though not all skiers drives were out of tolerance. I hear it was a snowball of many factors. @scoke I owe you beer.
  10. @OSSKI would it be possible for us to be able to pick our own date ranges. I do not see any need to compare my early season lets say in march/April to sets in August & September. To me the data gets skued by the earlier season slower speeds & longer lines.
  11. @ral that may not be true. I was told you can’t do that. The powers that be are looking into it.
  12. When the IWWF went to this new model it allowed them to reduce the amount they charge hosts to have the different Worlds. This will allow those events to be held at much better sites. The skiers on the world list are usually trying to obtain the ranking needed to ski in their respective worlds. The skiers will be helping to fund their events. Y’all are complaining over $25 not $250 not $2,500! Don’t go to Starbucks for 2 days. We have taken the L list for granted and have gotten by for decades not paying to be on the list. We have E in the US and can ski in that class which is easier to run than L but is still held to a higher standard than C. Pay to play or shut up and ski.
  13. I think there are a number of German & Russian skiers that have had great success in both. I do not think there are any cable 3 event sites in the USA. Mainly jumpers come to mind. It is very much a different sport in how the rope/line tension can be manipulated but there are for sure some crossovers. @KirkLee is in this video.
  14. Continue to consistently workout in the offseason Seek out more Pro Coaching Go out of my way to ski with those that are better than me
  15. E is not included in the IWWF fees. It has dropped in use mainly used at Regionals and Nationals in some divisions for national records. We may see a resurgence in skiers skiing in E. But it’s only $25 I don’t see may people flinching at this.
  16. The Dealer/Factory should never let that happen. Protect your brand people!
  17. @AdamCord Ha. 6 more years at it..
  18. It does 360° in 4 seconds. So 180° in 2 seconds and it takes a skier roughly 2.5 seconds from buoy to buoy. I think it would make it to the first buoy fine but I think after the quick turn it would not be able to keep up. Looks like their app uses facial recognition so not sure how that would work from the boat to keep a skier in the aspect ratio that we desire. I think the tech is for sure getting there, but right now it seems limited based on the motor speeds they are putting in these devises. They are usually looking for a slow controlled pan and zoom. I had a ski friend who I think tried to use a Soloshot a few years back with not great success? I can reach out and see how it actually went. https://soloshot.com/collections/soloshot3 I bet the guys at the TWBC @TonyLightfoot are keeping their eyes out for a product to make their lives easier while providing good footage.
  19. I heard Marc is in the hospital with a brain injury. Sending prayers out for the Shaw family. If someone knows more again let’s us know.
  20. @The_MS have you seen Cole or Jeff ski on it?
