  1. I ski in a radar but had a similar experience with HO when I was still on one. It's nice to hear companies standing behind their products. Good for D3!!!
  2. I used to launchon a sandy beach because the lauch was twisted and barely useable. Needed 4wd. It did get a little soft after repeatedly using the same spot. I helped the truck with the boat giving a little push when it got too soft
  3. You can put zero off in the lx back to 2007. We currently use a 08 with zero off. I prefer the wake to the nautiques but that's my opinion. If I was buying a boat for a public lake I would be happier with the malibu. If I was buying one for a private lake I would go with a nautique
  4. @ToddF i was on an A2. Couldn't do anything on that ski. I came off an A1 that I was very happy with
  5. I do put more emphasis on my improved skiing than the ski
  6. My experience is, I've had skiis that have made me perform worse, my vapor is the best I've had, but I think my improvements in it are from a better easier to ride ski and technique. I did pick up a fu pass on it
  7. Hoping he's going to start skiing in big dawgs when he's able, should really push those guys
  8. Just wondering how boat speed would play into this, I'm in m4 and ski at 34 vs a young guy who skies at 36 or a young kid who skiis at slower speeds
  9. Anyone know where I can see the results
  10. A1, then my green vapor
  11. @horton you should've waited for a calm day to post a pick of your boat
  12. I am generally a 35 off skier with the odd shot at 38. I had a really bad out the front crash this week on an older Reflex system. I hit my face in the ski but the binding released no problem avoiding a bad Achilles tear. I love the system and the safety of it
  13. If cost is the factor getting something set up like this IMO is the key. Like someone else has said, Jody has given us the details what a ZO boat will cost. But it would be nice to see what @horton can come up with
  14. I have skied a few times into 38off behind zo boats. But regularly train with a zbox pp boat. I think to get people started a pp boat would do and you really don't need a zo boat till you get to 35 off. As long as you have the ability to take a few sets behind a zo boat before the tourney.
  15. @kpickett. Sorry I always forget that other lakes aren't as "good" as mine. We are on a fairly small shallow lake. The water levels from a drought to a flood might change 2 feet and we don't really have a ton of boat traffic. Really only factor is the wind factor. Couldn't ski there today! I do understand what your point is
  16. Not sure why you can't train on a public lake?? I regularly do, the conditions aren't consistently as nice nice as a tournament site, but I free ski on the bad days and work on technique more. I also train behind a pp boat as well as a zo boat. Then I go compete at the local tournament site. My public lake and tournament site pb's are within 1 buoy difference (1@38 vs 2@38 34mph). Ski as many places and different conditions as possible!!!!

    marine starters

Tx for the input guys, I found a shop locally that does marine starters so I should be good, they told me will be between 60-140 can so I will save vs buying a rebuild from the usa

    marine starters

Im in Canada so to order one is going to cost me about $300 by time it gets here which is why Im hoping to be able just to get a re-build.
  19. The starter on my Malibu is going. I know they are sealed units. So my question is, can they be re-built at a shop, or would they not be able to seal the unit after. If I have to buy one I will, but hoping o save a few bucks!
  20. any of the junior skiis should work fine, they are all really good. Depending on her actual size, a Radar Lyric is a really good ski that is far cheaper than any of the others in the comparable ability range. My wife is on a lyric and working on learning the course. I think they come in a 63 which should be fairly close to her size. IF you want to save some cash look at ski-it again. If not look on this site sponsors and they are all really good at fitting you with the right size. Don't go with the combo skiis, they don't turn the same as a slalom ski.
  21. The 86 was a slight change over the 85, and didn't ski as nice but it's still worth it if it's not gonna be a money pit
  22. Thanks Ed, i try that. If the cable didn't stretch I guess it's possible the anchors moved. I was told the anchors are actually cork screwed into the muck
