Last year Chicago had 1ProStar (which they seem to have every year) and 1 TXI (only because it was new, they've not had one for at least 3 years previous)

Can't recall seeing a Ski Nautique in the 5 years I've been going.

'IF' it somehow gets rescheduled for somewhere in SW Chicago I'd happily volunteer my time to do whatever is needed, I've got a free weekend now.

I've struggled with my skiing this summer, worst I've skied in 15 years. Could be the new boat, could be an adjustment to Zero Off, could be the new ski, could be new bindings, yada, yada, yada. But more than likely it's just me.

Finally got some coaching from a lake neighbor early last week and immediately showed signs of improvement. Felt good, got excited about skiing again! And then a day later... SLAP!... took the nastiest out the front fall that I can remember and ended up with one painful ear.

Went to our GP the next morning and he said the eardrum looked traumatized and noticed blood behind eardrum, and to take a few weeks off. But since this was my right ear (and I only have a 20% range of hearing in my left ear) I set up an appt. with an Ear/Nose/Throat guy.

Saw the ENT on Monday and he confirmed the perforation; a pretty good sized hole from the pressure of the fall. He estimates recovery time, if it can heal itself, of 1-3 months. If it's not corrected itself after 3 months we'll then discuss scheduling a Tympanoplasty (patching of the hole).

So in a split second my ski season is over, no one to blame but myself. It was just absolute stupidity on my part to push for that 'one more' buoy. I was waaaay too late, pulled waaaay too long, waaaaay too much speed, got over the front to slam on the brakes, and there ya go.

Now I'm going to spend the rest of the summer pulling my son on his new passion, trick skiing. Perhaps I'll take that up next summer, the falls don't look too bad. :smile:

Skied my first first tournament in over 32 years this past weekend at @JeffSurdej 's place, Waters Edge. Met a lot of great people, had fun hanging out with my fellow team members, witnessed a lot of great skiing (the newbies were just as much fun to watch as the experienced veterans) and got to meet Jeff.

I skied like crap both rounds but I'm looking forward to doing it again. :smiley:

Our lake in Essex, IL. Start of a new Father's Day tradition, sking with my son. He wanted to ski the course together so we went through the gates, he did 1-3-5 and I did 2-4-6, and both out the gates. It was fun, kind of looked like Newton's craddle. :)

Sounds like a great time, sorry we missed it but we were out of town. Hopefully Doug does this again next year.

5 minutes ago I pulled out my calipers and wing angle gauges, planning to check my fin tonight and also set my neighbors. I was about to search up his settings and saw this post. Good timing!

Just downloaded the app, iPhone 7. Searched up a few different ski settings, works great. Thanks Paul!

I purchased a '16 Response TXi (5.7 ltr/350hp) last month and finally got a chance to do some 'footing last week. Off the boom with a 5' handle, tumbled up, no spray issues to complain of. Have not yet tried long line so can't speak to the wake for that.

As for slalom at slower speeds my son says the wakes at 28mph are much better than our '01 Response LX.
