Spent the weekend winterizing the boat and boarding up the lake house for the winter.

Forecast calls for 82 degrees today. Thanks Mother Nature for making my first day of winter depression even worse. :(

I would tend to agree with @dchristman .. if you are NOT skiing on a v-type/vtx, bolt the new Syndicate Hardshells to a HO Direct Connect adapter plate and mount the plate to any ski.

@Shakeski, come south a little bit (Essex) and you can give them a try. I've only been able to get two sets on mine so far (thanks again @savaiusini!) but love'em. Now that tradeshow season is over I expect to get quite a bit of use out of them.

They fit great, quality is top notch, and they work as advertised. :)

I didn't mention this on the call, but I'm a long time HO customer (Phantom, Monza, A1, A2, A3 (my son's) and multiple pairs of Animals over the years) and have never had an issue with any of your products. It's great to see that when I do have an issue you stand behind your product and offer such great customer service. Thank you.

I'm looking forward to putting a new VTX under these new boots next spring. B)

Last month I finally switched from 15 years of Animal bindings to the 2016 HO vMax bindings. I went to my somewhat local proshop not expecting vMax to be at the top of the list, but they were. Tried on vMax, Radar Vapor and Connelly Sync bindings and chose the vMax.

Obviously different than a 5 year old worn out set of Animals, I did not know what to expect on my first set but they felt good right away; out of the buoy and cross course control was greatly improved, which was my goal for new bindings, and I could feel the potential. Skied them for 3 more weeks (maybe 10 sets?) and they were great. Overall comfort, feel, control was excellent. I was surprised how easily I adapted to them and was skiing season PB's (in practice!). Could not have been more satisfied with my purchase.

Then... I stuffed the tip and the mounting bracket broke:

I knew this was a problem when these boots were first released but according to posts by @savaiusini they made a change to a stonger plate to correct this. Since I purchased the boots 4 weeks ago I thought I had the 'new and improved' stronger plate. Apparenlty not?

@savaiusini, before I move on and try other binding options how would I know if I have the latest and greatest, and if I do is this just a design flaw? I've had people say 'yeah you can modify them with a large washer so the tension is better distributed'... but I really don't want to have to 'modify' a brand new $500 pair of bindings.

I'm curious to see what the new 2017's are. I was on Animals for 15 years (3 different pairs) and made the switch to the 2016 vMax boots last month and wow(!), should have switched off the Animals years ago. I knew there were issues with lateral support but man I did not realize how much. The control over the ski now is crazy. Who knew my offside turns and transition back to and through the wake could be so good!

Not much talk on here about the latest Vmax boots. I tried on the HO vMax, Radar Vapor boots and the Connelly Sync bindings and the vMax just felt the best, they are very comfortable all the way around. They felt great the first set and are just getting better.

I'm confused (perhaps from too many barefoot falls last night?)... does the VTX replace the V-Type R in the line up?

Is the VTR (old v-Type R?) now the women's line or is this a new ski too?

As for the 'new boots too' comment, are they new? They look like the 2016 vMax boots I bought last month.

10+ years ago I made the move from a private membership site in Sacramento (Stillwater Ranch) to living in a private lake community in Houston (Lago Santa Fe). 4 years ago I moved to a private site in the Chicago area.

@supersonicus, we were down there last week and now we all have new bindings and a Calvin has a new ski (outgrew the old one).

Doug said Wade Cox will be back in a few weeks for another day of coaching. We should check that out.

Looks like your friend pulled the trigger on the new Mastercraft.

Beautiful boat, we saw it down at Liquid Edge last week. My wife kept telling me to look at it but I thought it was just there for service. May have to go back and check it out.
