  1. @BraceMaker‌ - if you buy the house there are no skier fees. ;-)
  2. John, If we're still here in the spring come on by! Towards the end of summer Matt (@supersonicus‌) came over for quite a few sets. Always glad to have fellow ballers on the water. Clay

  4. Drive to IN in the weekend traffic, get up early trying to beat the wally's to the good water, or ski in your own backyard anytime... which would you prefer? :-) ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Real_Estate&postid=30559
  5. Pulling the buoys this weekend and then making one last grasp at summer with a ski trip to Houston next weekend. Then that's it for the year. :-(
  6. I'm curious... why use surgical tubing? They had it on the course I now ski at and I replaced it with 1/4 bungee after my first year here. The surgical tubing seemed to get pretty slimy and would come loose fairly easy when hit by the weekend warriors and their tubes.
  7. Based on the south Chicago forecast for the next week I may be breaking out the dry suit this weekend. Last weekend was perfect, skied my butt off knowing the season is soon coming to a close. Set a season PB on Saturday and backed it up Sunday.
  8. Last night was back to school night, my son said he had a surprise waiting for me in his art class. This picture made me very happy...
  9. @BraceMaker‌, that's Five Oaks. No course, no wind protection, and only one guy with a boat. $600k to million dollar homes, and a not so good school district. There is a single lake site north west of Five Oaks and another single lake site just south west, neither has a course at this time. I'm on the two lake site 3.5 miles west of Five Oaks. There's Waters Edge about 20 minutes south west. And Ninovan Estates right off 80 about 25 miles west. Lots of sites in the area but not many skiers.
  10. I live in Sunset Lakes which is in Manhattan, IL, about 10 minutes from Orland. Shoot me a PM, I'd be glad to give ya a pull during the week. Waters Edge is down in Wilmington (30 minutes form Orland).
  11. Got an email from a old neighbor in Houston a few weeks ago, said the water temp was 93. We haven't even had a 93 degree day yet this summer!
  12. Some of the crowd.... Regina after the win... src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5017617/uploads/editor/89/7s47j3u2ewfy.jpg" alt="" /> KC getting some support from Brooks... (at least I assume that is Brooks)...
  13. After 3 years of not skiing very much my wife has finally been able to get some time on the water this year. Last week she made all 6 and promptly put on her 'Baller' shirt and took a picture that made her happy...
  14. We made it over Saturday just in time to see Freddy's last jump, Ryan Dodd taking the win, and then some incredible skiing in the slalom finals. (also got to watch Nate at the midwest regionals on Sunday) This is the 3rd Malibu Open site I've been to; Bell Aqua in Sac and somewhere in MI (Quake on the Lake in 2008?) were the others. This was by far the best setup for watching a tournament.
  15. GAJ0004, the entire neighborhood around the lakes is paved. The only thing not paved is the road/berm between the two lakes.
  16. Interesting opinions... I grew up skiing in California and this was always a requirement on public lakes. Thought this was the norm and it worked as others have described above. Not a big deal. I now live on a private lake in Illinois and would love to have a little orange flag so I could a) let my weekend warrior neighbors know that I'm on the lake because they're not bright enough to figure it out on their own, and b) poke their eyes out. (just kidding, but it would be tempting :-) )
  17. Any ballers here live or ski at Waters Edge?
  18. The only thing I use the open bow for is to store the boat cover when the boat is in use. Next boat, if I ever justify the need for one, will be closed bow. Preferably a CP. :-)
  19. Nor I, and it will be at least 3 more weeks before I'll have a chance. Maybe the weather will consistently be above 50 by then. :-(
  20. I think @Joey22 is a bit confused as to what team he is on and what manufacturer he drives for. :-)
  21. @zman, you didn't keep that house very long! Smart move though as the ice is still 16 inches thick.
  22. Are any of you Baller's a member at Victory Lakes? I'm heading down to Jacksonville at the end of April to check out the area, hoping to stop by and check out Victory Lakes too while I'm there.
  23. When I come around the island I think to myself.... 'yippee ki yay mother fuc&*@!' Every pass. Don't know why. :-)
