  2. There are 15 boat permits per lake, which is about equal to or a bit less than the avg for ski lake communities (at least the many I have visited over the years). In the year I've been here I've not waited any longer to ski than I did at LSF for 5 years. There are currently only a few off waters homes built and about 1/3 of the on water lots have homes. Of those on the water that do not have boat rights, some are retirees and the others just do care about boats and skiing (there are people like that), they just want a nice neighborhood to live in. For the immediate area, this is one of the nicer neighborhoods.
  3. I'm currently building a home in Sunset Lakes, have been a lot owner for the past year and a half. There have been no tournaments here to date, not enough hardcore skiers yet. Are you looking in the area?
  4. @rodltg2... I don't remember those 3 bullet points in the 'For Sale' ad for yours... :-)
  5. I paid $150 2 years ago for O'Neill to replace the leg and wrist seals on my drysuit. Last week both a leg seal and a wrist seal ripped, season over. I expected more than 2 years of limited use out of it when the original seals lasted over 12 years with fairly regular use. Now thinking about an Eagle front zip suit for the spring.
  6. You may want to find a 'good' chiropractor. Not one that wants you to come in 3 times a week for 8 weeks, 2 times a week for 6 week and then weekly after that. Find one that will work with you to understand the various stresses placed on your body from skiing, and will show you how to properly stretch specific muscles before and after skiing. I skied 5+ years with pain not too dis-similar to what you are describing. Went to a Chiro (who I later determined was a quack) that a friend recommended, and it did not help. Relocated and found a great Chiro that helped me figure out the issue (my supraspinatus muscle needs to be fully stretched before skiing) and I've skied pain free ever since.
  7. Is Steve Hornsey still skiing? I used to do a lot of work with his program, great group of people.
  8. Quite a few posts on themalibucrew.com regarding this boat: http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/index.php?/topic/39538-new-australian-malibu-response-lxr/page__hl__response I'm going to convert my LX to an LXR this weekend, got a 12 pack of beer and a skill saw ready to go. :-)
  9. Shortenit... if you're at all interested in the Sunset Lakes (or Five Oaks) area let me know. You're welcome to come down for a pull anytime.
  10. A few weeks ago I skied on my ski partners 66.5 A2. I’d only skied a handful of times the past 9 months and didn’t expect much out of the set, I just wanted some time on the water. After 2 passes my feet were killing me from bindings that were too tight and I almost bailed on the remainder of the set. I had a borrowed ski, borrowed gloves, borrowed vest, borrowed rope and borrowed handle. I just wasn’t feeling it. But I stuck with it and now it’s going to cost me. :-) That ski was phenomenal! I ended up skiing into 35 off and within 2 buoys of a PB. So now it’s time to ditch my old A1 and move on up to an A2. My question is what size. I usually weigh 185-190 during the ski season so I’m right on the cusp of a 66.5 or a 67.5. I can get a great deal on a 66.5. Should I go for it or would the 67.5 be better? Are the A2's sizing up or down?
  11. I lived there for a few years, actually just north of The Pitt in Cranberry Twp. Just across the 80/OH boarder, in Lima maybe(?), there is a private place. Good people, but can't remember the owners name. If I find it I'll PM ya.
  12. As long as we're all sharing... :-) http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Real_Estate&postid=16465
  13. Sorry, misread that. Still a good deal. :-)
  14. $1800 for a family membership that includes a boat sounds like a good deal. I was a member at Stillwater Ranch from '01 to '04 and was paying at least $2000 annually for a family membership and had to use my own boat. Agree with Jim; I skied there quote a few times and it ski's great and the members are a lot of fun to hang out with.

  16. Do you have to rent? And do you have to be on the north side? There's a new home being built in our 'hood: http://www.redfin.com/IL/Manhattan/24213-Bay-To-Bay-Blvd-60442/home/40278056 Also quite a few lots available: http://www.sunsetlakes-lots.com/Sunsetlakes-lots.com/Home.html I work downtown Chicago/Millennium Park area, it's about a 50 minute train ride from Sunset Lakes.
  17. Rod, Sent you an Im via this site, not sure if you received it or not. Lost your email address. Clay
  18. Rod, I've got your new home. Give me a call. :-) Clay http://search.har.com/engine/131-Lago-Circle-Dr-North-Santa%20Fe-TX-77517_HAR20777089.htm
  19. Not sure about north of Chicago but there's a cluster of about 5 ski lakes (all within a 5 mile radius) about 40 miles southwest. We're moving into Sunset Lakes, a two lake site. They say they're still skiing, we'll find out next week! :-)
  20. Thanks for the responses guys. I have an auto transport guy lined up, supposed to pick up the Tahoe & Response today.
  21. Next week I will be relocating from the Houston area to the Chicago area. I'm looking for a company to haul an '04 Tahoe and '01 Response. Both need to go on a trailer for the trip. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any good or bad experiences? I've gone the UShip route and have not had much luck.
