  1. SCARY ALERT ! Cheater/Brake/Fins not allowed in Tournaments, are you taking the Mickey, thinking this is a wind up !
  2. Tfactor gives great Lateral Support, but there is easier movement fwd and aft, the fwd movement allows easier ankle flex the aft movement helps reduce tip rise..
  3. Love the Tfactors, use them as they are, pull them tight, never failed to release when needed. Basically adjust them to what you are comfortable with. Caviat: all bindings carry a risk factor
  4. @swbca I think you will find that D3 in particular will produce skis with a fairly similar flex pattern, the like's of Freddie Winter may try a couple of skis, but, I would suspect, four sets and maybe a little adjustment, the ski would be close to what he was on, you never know it may actually be better. Question is, was the ski, gradually getting weaker to the point of failing or did it just fail at that point, I only ask because, I would of thought a Pro Skier might of noticed if the ski was going off. I do know one Ex Pro Skier who hurt himself when the ski had a sudden failure after travel on a airline, he said it was his fault because he always used to check the flex by putting the nose and then the tail on the ground , then pushing on the ski, the one time he didn't check it, it failed. He broke his ankle, so maybe something to remember if you travel with your ski.
  5. @MDB1056 if you want to highlight the issues surrounding this thread and bring awareness to this community of the need to protect the vunerable. 31.6K Views is a pretty good result. So I have to disagree, this thread, has achieved so much more, than what the originator was trying to get across.
  6. The thought of perverts among us, disturbs me, unfortunately they do not walk around with a badge declaring that they are a pervert, they are cunning and experts at disguise, they could be your best buddy, next door neighbour, the most unlikely of people, are you going to be able to spot them, the likelyhood is no. Education of youngsters and people at risk has to be the key, they have to feel that they can come forward and state their concerns. We have a designated person who fills that role and takes the responsibility, I think most of us understand whats is appropiate and what is not with or without a course or exam. The biggest enemy is when people walk on by, see things and say nothing, the nicest Man/Woman in your community, could be the biggest monster out there, do not be afraid to question other peoples actions. Do Not Walk On By.
  7. Hook the Handle, like a rock climber, there are other benefits as well typically if you hook the handle it is harder for you to pull your arms in, straight arms is like eating a Strawberry Sundae, Nice !
  8. I want to give a BIG ! shout out for Jack Travers and his team, what a fantastic site, I cannot think of a better water ski site that is more suitable than Travers, great viewing for spectators and competitors, the whole setup is made for it. Have a Fantastic Event !
  9. Anybody tried the 2022 Vapor Pro @32mph, I have been told that it shuts down quickly, is this correct, is that a good thing or a bad thing for 32mph ? Or is it the same old story @32mph keep them hands with you as long as you can.
  10. Maybe a Retailer selling last year or even the previous year ski at a discount, don.t be afraid to ask for the discount, they do not want old stock.
  11. @Dicedme do try and demo the ski before you buy one, you could even consider a used one off of "Ski It Again" Get somebody to set the ski up and then just work on the basics. Less Is More Stand With Even Pressure On Feet, More On Front Is Better, Than Pressure On The Back Flex Your Ankles Forward, To Stabilise The Ski ( ignore comments about bending knees, it will destroy your body position) Good Body Position Let The Boat Do the Work Point the Ski Across the Lake, Be Strong, But Do Not Add
  12. @Jody_Seal we wanted to change our steering cable on a Bryant 200, seemed like the impossible task, how did you get around the end fitting inpingement problem, we were worried about invalidating the warranty if we started cutting the pedestal about, also do they, still cable tie the cable down the internals of the boat ? Does Nautique now have a recognized procedure, for this task ?
  13. I have always stated the rules are the rules, but this image, does demonstrate that a rule change, might improve the viewing angle for Judges, nobody likes to be called out, everybody wants to do a good job, so it makes sense to make it easier on the decision makers and eliminate such errors.
  14. @skialex, thankyou you are a diamond, where I am, we live in the world of metric, so generally unc or unf has to be ordered online, most hardware stores have metric. Thanks again for the info and thankyou to the Ball Of Spray.
  15. @Horton, Ok just thought somebody here would have a quick answer, but you are right, I would think that it,s got to be UNF or UNC. Thanks for the input.
  16. @Horton standard manufacture fin, just really needed the thread spec for the grub screws and I can sort it out myself, it would be nice to keep the adjustment screws for the fin to sit against, if they were a tiny bit loose, I can deal with that. I would be happier to just re-tap the adjustment holes and free them up just a weeny bit. Unfortunately I have the Grip of a Gorilla.
  17. Can somebody please ,tell me the thread and size of the Fin Block Adjustment Grub Screws, I have realised that when I clamp the Fin the screws are effectively trying to clamp the grub screw as well as the fin, two of the clamping screws are close to the grub screws, after some discussion it was decided to tigthen the fin block a little without the Grub Screws in, and then re-tap the grub screw holes, this would ensure good clamping of the fin, and prevent over tightening and stripping of threads. I know probably nobody else, has had this problem and it is particular to me, however I feel the design of this fin block does have a flaw and can be improved, by re-positioning the Fwd and aft positon of clamp screws furthe away from the adjustment grub screws. I am not having a go at anybody and will not name the manufacturer, but there is room for improvement.
  18. I was thinking more like a VR Headset, skier with headcam going through the passes at different line lengths and a selection for speed, so that you could train your visuals through the winter, even the possibilty of different lakes, I guess that would cost loads of dosh, with little return.
  19. It,s a Dance ! if the skier and driver are in rythm, driving within tolerance is easy and requires very little input, the more relaxed the driver is, the easier it is to strike the rythm, Understanding propeller rotation direction, helps , if you have setup correctly, a very small, I mean very small, correction may be required on one side, depending on boat manufacturer.
  20. Can it make a difference ? left foot forward drive within tolerance more to the right(offside) or to the left for right forward (offside) allowing the skier to utilize their stronger onside. In saying that until you get right down the line, say 38off and below is it going to make any difference at all,
  21. @Horton That,s what it feels like, but I have friends on a 67 that are lighter, they are running short and deep with the boots a fair way back, I have a ski buddy who is heavy for the 67, he runs short and deep with his boots way forward, he is happy with it, but it doesn,t flow, when observing. Currently sitting in front of a plate full of lettuce leaves and Tomatoes, I am thinking 175llbs and a Vapor is going to be just fine. It,s going to be hard, I like tasty food, I am not a muesli type of guy.
  22. @jjackkrash anywhere between 180llbs and 187llbs, I think the 2020 and 2022 Vapors have a slightly bigger weight range, I will work to get the weight off this winter , one of the issues I have with 68 is that I am 5'6 tall, in saying that some people are starting to talk about not describing skis by length but more about describing them by surface area, after all, the bit at the front is just there to add balance.
  23. @scoke, basically on most skis my offside is better than most , on the senate it will not turn for me. I have tried them boots back/ deep and short, boots forward long and shallow every combination. I guess it,s just not for me.
  24. @scoke I know it,s not the ski, all the people that have let me Demo their Senate, absolutely love them, I didn,t get on that well with the HO Omni either, might just be a wide ski thing, Radar, Goode, D3, HO, Obrien standard skis no problem.
