  1. thanks guys, that's what I was looking for. Jeff
  2. I know this is a slalom board, but I found an older set of connelly trick skis (team 2 in vintage purple) and plan on screwing a wiley high wrap and rtp on one to try something different between slalom sets. I am not spending $ on a new trick ski as this will be just fine for my lack of ability. It's 42" and I am trying to determine where to mount the front binding. Is there a rule of thumb? I will place the rtp where it feels comfortable but would like some advice for the front binding. I suppose I could mount close as possible to the existing bindings which are adjustable and very floppy and need to be replaced. All suggestions welcome, thanks.
  3. ok, where is the best place to get the sequence plates in Canada? thanks
  4. we don't paint them, but do give the new ones a spray of 303 aerospace protectant, very quick and simple and they fade much much slower.
  5. one 55m rope and some cement blocks with rope and pre gate balls attached. works fine and it's simple.
  6. thanks guys and I have been talking to Paul and I'm going to order a 68 today. one of a couple of leftovers from last years 'regular' Z7s. I also heard the X7 will be released at nationals and be an option in their top of the line skis. can't wait. When I demo rode a z7st it was a bit small for my weight as is my current x5. I was nice and smooth, but the conditins were a bit rolly so I didn't get a reall good feel for it. BUT when I returned to the x5 I immediately missed the z7 and realized the physical effort was less and the speed between balls was much improved. funny how I missed it more, than I appreciated it in the first place. thanks everyone and cant wait for the new ski...
  7. thanks Bruce, I'm sold. Any opinion on z7 size re: z7 compared to x5? I'm 212 lbs or so, and am on a 67.5 x5 but think I should be on a 68", any thoughts? thanks
  8. Horton and jtm, I'm also trying to move from an x5 to a z7 or z7st. there are better deals on the z7 as it's last years ski, have you tried or have any experience re: the difference between the z7 or z7st? thanks
  9. Thanks guys but I'm 215lbs so I feel my current ski is a bit small, don't you agree? Thanks
  10. I was too slow and missed out on JD's ski, so I'm looking again. anyone know where I can get a deal on a demo or slightly used 68"z7st? or make a case for another ski to try. I didn't care for the connelly or ho too much and the radar aren't that east to find for a demo. I'm currently on an x5 67.5" but am a bit heavy for the ski at 212lbs. I did demo a 67z7 and liked it, but realize I should get the larger size. skiing at 34mph working on cleaning 32off. thanks Jeff
  11. I'm inquiring about the z7 compared to the x5. Not interested in the Goode skis. I am interested in the x5 to z7 and maybe the strada if anyone has made a similar transition.
  12. thanks guys, I'm quite interested in JD's z7. I rode a 67" as it's all that was local and need the 68" as I'm over 200lbs. didn't notice until I got back on my x5 but it's a bit easier to hold on, I suppose this is what Dave was talking about? If I can sort out some deadbeat tenants (by the way, never get into landlord situations if you can help it, it truly blows) I will buy JD's ski. Just wish there were some local stradas to try out but there are not. I like the z7 because it feels comfortable first set due to riding kd and d3 for the last few years and I'm in Canada so demo's are not easy to come by. Anyone try a strada from D3 esp. X5? thanks all
  13. x5. not listed yet. I'm thinking of moving to z7 and if it sells that will force my move to z7.
  14. not much help, but I have an 06 x5 67.5" available. Definitely cheaper....
  15. I change the fuel filter in my malibu monsoon each year. It's a $2 part and it's in the pump in the tank. It is a pressurized system like the mastercraft but they're simple to do. (only work on cool engine) First follow the pressure fuel line to the back of the engine, look very closly and you'll see a shraeder valve similar to a bike tire, remove the cap, and with a paper towel and your finger or maybe something smaller like a nail, press the valve in and you will depressureize the system, the paper towel will gather the spilt fuel which is really only a few drops. Now back to the pump, on the malibu I have to remove the snap ring at the outgoing fuel line, ( I don't have to pull the pump out) once the snap ring is removed, I can lift it up enough to remove and replace the new filter. Have a few rags handy as there will be a bit of fuel spillage from the old filter. The filter in the monsoon is a wix 33048 and is about the size of a bottle of white out or nail polish. Not sure what the MC uses, but I would bet it's similar. Also this is the only fuel filter on the 2007 and up monsoons. Hope this helps.
  16. JH, nice hockey shirt, too bad they won't repeat with olympic gold this year, I think ... I mean I know it's Canada's year to take the gold./vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif
  17. thanks OF, we'll see what we can do to make it work. It's really appreciated. Will do on the return if it doesn't work. I'm as excited to see the new ski as it will force my ski partner in the lake in mid 40s water temperature so that will be worth the price of admission alone. thanks again!
  18. awesome, thanks OF. You and any other members of this site have a place to stay and ski if you're ever north of Toronto...
  19. thanks OF, I can order the servo from PP themselves as their in Canada like us. Let me know how much? I also think you're a buddy of zippy zappy slappy and I think my ski partner bought his old A1, maybe we could ship this in the same box...
  20. trying to find a used pp for throtle cable 99 malibu response. Any version, doesn't have to be stargazer or 6.5, but it would be nice. A ski buddy needs it so we'll ski with him. Anyone have an old setup on their workbench looking to get some $$$. thanks
  21. I understand my ski partner bought the a1, as I sent him your way as he doesn't lurk this forum. The bad news is he'll have to take it for a rip before the winter and we're below zero degrees (celcius) at night so the water will be in the 40's so I get to try my "brass monkey" skiing! We should have snow flying in the next week or so...
  22. I got my lxi from the promo team director at malibu and he told me that he gets all the promo team boats dialed in with very very minor adjustment to the 3 fins and he personally hits the rudder with a grinder to make it drive just right. (even though they have the small adjustable tab to load the rudder, the grinding is a larger surface area as well as I think it's his 'old school way' that he is comfortable doing). Regardless, the result is a straight as an arrow nice driving boat. The other thing he changed was he added some spacers (like small hockey pucks) to the seat mounts so it's about 1.5" taller, and makes the seating position much better. Both nice boats, but our club members agree this is the easiest boat to drive straight. My boat doesn't have the loose steering feel at all, in fact if you let go of the wheel you're in an instant power turn... I agree that it coasts further than the MC or 196, so a small lake may prefer the 196.ÂÂ
  23. own one and ski the other all the time, both are very good boats and get past the wife if you need to pass it as a 'family' boat as I did.
