  1. @jhughes or any others that demo several skis. Is the Vapor a drastic change from D3 skis. I've been skiing d3 for several skis now, and am able to order a new one every couple of years and it feels comfortable but improved right from the first set. I don't have easy access to demo skis, (in Canada) but this sounds like a great ski. I'm just a bit hesitant as it may feel drastically different than current d3 skis. I'm basing this on a recent ride on ski partners Connelly prophesy, that felt way way different. thanks
  2. I'm5'11" 205-210lbs, ski 28'-35' off at 34mph, and currently on 68"d3 z7. Time for a new ski. 69" sounds too big, is 67" big enough? thanks guys
  3. the rudder on the new MC at our local dealer comes with a 'factory' grind. it is delivered by MC that way according to the salesman. looks like the photo @scotchipman posted
  4. @Chad_Scott thanks I'll call and book tonight. Looking forward to it!
  5. Heading down from ontario Canada. Week at cobles then Charlestown. Any accommodation suggestions?
  6. any ballers at coble week prior to malibu open? thinking family road trip from ontario, ski at coble, then head to Charleston to see how it supposed to be done. Any 'must see' things to do in Charleston?
  7. Lake Couchiching in Central Ontario is 85
  8. another vote for coppertone sport. works great and applies easier than others, especially on hair covered areas like forearms and legs.
  9. @GK I sent PM re your boat. thanks
  10. I'll chime in. I have an 07 lxi fully loaded and on public water. I'm getting interested in a newer boat, but my reluctance is losing a lot of the features our family uses and really likes. the wedge is great, the bow is the largest of the 3 and actually big enough for wife and daughters, 11 and 13 and basically full size. My daughters ride in there all the time. I have to be cautious on really rough or busy days to not dunk it when coming off plane, but a lot less than 197, or 200, plus there is a lot more room. the rear trunk and sun pad are used a lot. the boat is dialed in and skis great.. just thinking the wake may be slightly improved/smaller at 26-32mph for wife and kids at 15' and 22' off with a newer boat, at 34mph its perfect right down the line. In reviewing this post, I think I may have just saved myself $25k... but getting a new boat is fun too.
  11. thanks, not sure of prop on current 200. it's a member in our club, and not my boat. it's a 2011 I believe. it will be a slalom boat, not jump, but am hoping to not spend as much on fuel. currently have a 2007 lxi and it's great on fuel compared to the 2011 200. We're in Canada, and gas is expensive...
  12. Getting close to getting a 5.3 200, and can't seem to get an answer: what are the rpms at 34mph? we ski a 5.7 200 and it spins about 3900rpm at 34 which is pretty high with lots of vibration and fuel consumption. Can someone put me at ease that the 5.3 is an improvement in this regard. Thanks
  13. How does the txi fit into this thread? I don't have any experience with the 17' and newer hull, but the previous version was definitely a low drag hull compared to the 200 and decent at slower speeds and longer lines.
  14. anyone have a decent 67" ski for sale in Ontario. a new member in our club is looking for something decent and current. thanks
  15. I have an absolutely mint 2007 lxi. fully loaded, with custom bimini, promo mini tower, wedge, heat, shower etc... always stored in a dry boathouse. pm for more details and some photos. very sharp white with a dark blue. Boat was dialed in by Malibu promo director as I purchased from him when it was basically new.
  16. I have an absolutely mint 2007 lxi. updated to latest pp, stored indoors, and every available option. Very nice colors. totally dialed in and tracks perfect as I bought it with under 50 hours on it in fall of 07 from the promo director at Malibu. approximately 820 hours, with oil changes every 50 hours.
  17. my 2007 rlxi has the tab. I purchased from the promo director and it was shaved and was explained that the shave work best compared to the small tab to really dial it in for the course. are there any other changes on the 2018? am interested on the right deal promo 17 or can wait for 18 if they made any improvements?
  18. looking for size 10 vapour, both feet. In Ontario. also looking for decent trick ski for 12 year old daughter.
  19. oh ya, Include the trick skiing, it would be a great addition to this event.
  20. Joel, I agree. Our family loves this tournament, and city. We travel a long way and look forward to it. Kids have a blast getting autographs, and getting excited about skiing again. I was chatting with a jump competitor who is in college, and Brian Detrick in the skiers tent, and he's committed to making this an "event", and as a marketing expert, he may have some great ideas. We were tossing ideas around, and partnering with another event or draw would help with numbers, and introduce to new audiences. Everyone we met throughout the weekend had not heard about the event at all. In fact the only advertising was a simple sign tied to a tree at the entrance of the park, and according to our driver, it was installed during the preliminary rounds. the website, and facebook page were both out of date etc... Let's put together great ideas, and work as fans to make this a better event. Joel, your commitment to a decent webpage would be a amazing start! much appreciated by our family.
  21. I'm packing up the family and trekking down from Ontario Canada, great event, and really hoping the recent events do not effect the open. Leaving tomorrow am. Can't wait.
  22. were on public water daily. Lake Couchiching, and Simcoe. Laz I believe you are from TO and ski in Newmarket. In our club we have all 3 boats, and depending on your time not skiing, we all agree that the open bow in the Malibu is by far the roomiest, and least likely to get swamped. For me with 9&11 year old girls, we almost always have them and a friend or two, or sometimes mom up there as well. with the 190 and 200 this is not possible. As for tracking, the setup is as important or even more important than the boat between the top 3. I know they all have adjustable rudder, but when I got my promo boat it had the rudder significantly ground/grinded on the one trailing side and provides a very positive push and feedback on the wheel, making it quite easy to drive straight. One other consideration, especially with Can $ for gas, is the 200, at least with the 5.7 seems to consume substantially more fuel than the other 2. as you know, they all ski great. when we got ours the 200 was not introduced yet, so it was lxi or 197, I'm a smart husband, I let my wife pick...
