  1. thinking of flying down from Canada to watch worlds. we usually get to Charleston to watch Malibu Open, but can't swing it this year. Wife really enjoys Charleston's downtown and great restaurants etc... What's appealing to wives near Groveland? any advice where to stay, etc... @The_MS I will have cooler full of IPA's and willing to share...
  2. Try great lakes skipper.com
  3. @Laz and @Horton I too recently moved my bindings forward 1 hole, or approx 1/4"-3/8" but also changed my fin to WF Pro, which does allow the tail to slide more. so far, I really like the change, with a bit more ski in the water and an easier to slide tail. Other notable differences include: the water temperature has dropped about 8 degrees Celsius, and I ski on public water, so conditions vary set to set. 67" DRG r1, 55kph, and also practicing 'chiropractor bait' style...
  4. eControl ECM to convert my 2007 lxi to zero off. as it seems the 2021 txi isn't getting great reviews, so hoping for model refresh, and understand 2022 isn't the year, so hoping for 2023...
  5. @lpskier as a Canadian you’re not incorrect, however @Jody_Seal comment above is truly Canadian. ‘Hold my beer… watch this’
  6. @jhughes thanks. Was hoping for 2022 model change but I don’t think one is planned. Not a fan of the new nautique, so either wait for 2023 model year or go with new prostar.
  7. @The_MS What year? I’m looking for a new txi, so is the 21 worse than previous years?
  8. @teammalibu I have DK's contact info, as I bought my boar from him. I didn't think they could get new ecm required for zero off upgrade. if so, I'm interested. thanks
  9. if you find one, please post. I don't think you can get the 'new' required ecm. i don't think they still make them. also think Doug Moss sp? is pretty knowledgeable with this upgrade.
  10. @jhughes me too. I’ve got 2 daughters that ride in the bow all the time (except when pulling a skier), and Mastercraft bow is too small. Never really took to the look of current txi. Really looking forward to a refresh.
  11. Anyone have insight to the new 2022 response txi? Based on previous model refresh, 2022 would be the year for an updated boat. Seriously looking to buy 2021, but would prefer to see new version, if one is being introduced. Thanks
  12. Congratulations. I don’t know Joel other than online presence but sounds like he earned this! Good story, and more inspirational and believable than the guy that runs into 38’ off in first season or two.
  13. @Killer I remember the boat. A good friend had one and it literally made him one of the coolest guys in high school. We were about 10, and would run down to the dock to see it cruise buy buried to the gunnels with about 8 bikinis on board. Just ran into the new owner last week and he’s talking about a restoration project. I also belief it was built for the 1979 world championships in Toronto. We attended and watched Joel McClintock win the overall title. Oh ya, and bought a 63” Taperflex Apex with the ‘wet boot’ binding. Great times
  14. @andjules I have some older radar rs-1s, and a 68" d3 z7 PM if interested.
  15. Thanks @slow I haven’t found any luck finding a lake either. Mtn bike will be fun plus some snow time. Kids have been doing Hintertux camps and yes, they have a blast.
  16. Staying with the alpine ski thought. We always back off the din (spring tension) when we lay them up for the off season. But… don’t forget to re-tighten as I found out the hard way.
  17. Anyone have any knowledge of ski lake near Saas Fee? my daughter is heading there this summer with her alpine ski team for training, and they need chaperones. Of course, I'm interested, and would love to squeeze a few sets in while there. thanks for any suggestions.
  18. is there an archive of today's finals to watch for those that missed it live? thanks
  19. I also have a 63" D3 x5, in black and pink excellent condition.
  20. Spent a lot of time behind one of these. I think they we're for the World's hosted in Toronto. I remember watching Joel McClintock win the overall, and bringing home a new Taperflex Apex ski with the 'Wetboot' high wrap, size 63". I recall this was the ski Joel won on. amazing how things change.
  21. @Bruce_Butterfield thanks, appreciated. Would moving binding forward help, or moving body by flexing ankle?
  22. 28' cold water, and really baggy shorts, that look like dragging butt behind. thanks
  23. @Than_Bogan I can only find a short clip on phone, but it won't let me upload. apparently wrong format. what format is acceptable? thanks
  24. Is there such a thing as being too fast behind the boat? one of my ski partners suggested I may be going too fast behind the boat. I don't think there is such a thing. I do acknowledge that an early edge change and maintaining handle control are critical to width, and cross course speed does assist. thoughts?
