  1. I stumbled across the new product line on the web and I figured you guys would like a look :). Most of the pics are of the actual product but unfortunately the Strada appears to be computer drawn (I didnt let the whole image load as I am on dial up. Anyway, enjoy the sneak peek!  http://www.squareoneco.com/dealer/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=6&Itemid=2
  2. Bill, the clubs stay in the garage. They already know their place :). Bruce, thanks for the tips. I'll try and get my rear knee behind the lead knee. I've actually found somewhere I can ride a course so I think I will give it a go next season. What do you mean even with the boat?ÂÂ
  3. When the RTP was moved closer to the front binding on my ski my rear heel issues were pretty much solved. I had a lot of trouble keeping my heel down and now both feet are pretty well always completely on the ski - it was a drastic improvement. So as Horton suggested check your binding placement and maybe see if you can get them a little closer together.
  4. I played golf about an hour after that ski. I shot 103... I try not to think about it. Funny, I've actually got a Radar MPD laying right beside me, it is just waiting for boots :). I'll try and get a better clip when I ski next weekend. Marco, will do. And thanks for the lead.  rod, certainly is a honeycomb. My dad bought it new for $250 way back in the day and he has been skiing on it since... he hates skiing behind the Glastron too. Oh and haha. I either use that or hook the rope up to one of the hooks on the side of the boat lol.
  5. Here is a short video of me skiing form yesterday: If you think you can make me better by mentioning one of my many technical imperfections please point it out or just laugh and hurl insults my way. I showed this vid to a friend of mine and he gave me shit because I was getting barely any air :). You can also see why I posted the thread for a new boat as that wake is big enough to launch off of and barely fast enough to get me my 36MPH. I am also skiing with my 70's Jobe. Anyway, I just thought I'd share.
  6. Yeah the lake bed has a good 6 inches of muck on the bottom in our bay. I really appreciate the tips Gern. What is draft? Marco, if you think the boat has been taken care of and is in good shape I'd like to talk to him. ÂÂ
  7. Lost the deal on the 01 Response. But I have been keeping my eyes on onlyinboards.com, boattrader.com and ebay.com looking for one of the Malibu Response, Malibu Echelon, or a CC 196. Seems like all the good deals are on the east coast and that is just way to far to drive and at the rate shipping companies charge($1-$1.50 US per mile) way too much to ship too. I made an account at themalibucrew but it wouldn't let me start a thread... I figured it had something to do with the account being brand new so I'll try again tonight. I wouldn't mind something with a wedge or ballast... when the afternoon rolls around and the lake is full of boats/jet skis there is nothing you can do but board. That is why I was leaning towards malibu. But I just checked and the depth at the end of the dock is almost exactly 2 feet so if water went down I'd be hooped /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif.
  8. My dad has been looking into picking up a ski boat so we don't need to ski behind our massive I/O anymore. He's found a 01 Malibu Response Lx close by, it has 360 hours on it and is overall in excellent shape. At $14,500 I think it is a great deal, no? Anyway what I am wondering is what kind of depth at the dock do these boats require as it is rather shallow for quite aways out into the lake in our area. It has a single axle trailer, at around 2500lbs is a single axle ok for trips? You'd think it should have a tandem axle, but I dont know.  Are there any tips you could provide to a first time buyer? Questions to ask or things to look out for.
  9. Definitely will davemac. Hopefully I can get them here before the season freezes over :). I skied today and the water was still nice so there is hope!
  10. Hm, mixed thoughts. I'd probably be going up an entire size though, as I fit almost anything in an 8 length. It is the width that pushes me up an extra size. Interesting how everyone is using superfeet though.
  11. Ok, I have basically decided to go with the RS-1's. I am just unsure about size. I almost always wear a US size 8 length shoe but my foot is pretty wide which pushes me to an 8.5 quite often if an 8 Wide is unavailable. I am a little concerned the boot will be too tight if I go with an 8. But I am also worried if I go with a 9 I'll need to cinch my laces down too much for my foot to eject properly or they will just feel loose. Keep in mind I have never tried either size on. Do people go a size up without problem in the RS-1's? Do the boots fit smaller or larger than the average shoe? How is the width? Will molding the liner make wearing a 9 fit nice and snug? WIll molding an 8 make room for a wide foot? I understand from Square One that the boots might fit small but the fellow I talked too didn't seem too sure.
  12. I talked to Darren Wiley and he was very helpful. He told me that I would definitely need lube to get into his bindings and that is not something I want to be doing. So now I am leaning towards the RS-1 bindings. Still concerned about sizing so I will make some calls tomorrow.
  13. Yeah Horton, I don't ski tournaments. I am currently talking with the sask. resource management to see if they'll let us stick buoys in the lake though. I've narrowed my choices down to the Wileys and the Radar bindings. I think the price will be comparable for both set ups. I think the Radar Source binding in the rear would be really nice because I'd have a lot of mobility like a RTP but my foot would stay in position and it would be comfortable. On the otherhand I've been riding a closed toe none adjustable front binding like a Wiley all my life and I've had neither comfort or support issues.   I guess I should get a plate to adjust the bindings if the Wileys don't mount well all the time.
  14. I've ditched the RTP idea and decided to go with double boots. I just want to be a little more locked in.  I've sent email in regards to both the wileys and the animals. LiquidEdge wont ship to me in Canada but I've found another place with a comparable price we'll see what they say when they get back to me. I am still 50/50 in regards to these two for rubber bindings.  I am actually kind of interested in trying something new though. The FM's look sweet but I don't really want to shell out that much on boots. A local shop says they might be able to get me a good deal on some Radars as their distributor is clearing them out. An RS-1 combo seems to be a good buy. My biggest concern with these is how easy they are to put on though... I wipe out enough that I don't want to be messing with the boots in the water. :) I am also a little leary with sizing on the RS-1's size I am an 8US  wide so the question is if the 9's would be too big and the 8's too small... or even if the 9's will fit.
  15. Hey guys, I pulled the trigger on an radar MPD with the gold fin. I realize it is an elite ski but I am hoping I can work it. No bindings yet but I have decided I am going with double boots.ÂÂ
  16. I am actually leaning towards the Wileys. I have read great things about them and they look to be pretty well the same thing that I have on my current ski from the 70's - I just wasn't sure if I should take a step up with technology or stick to old rubber faithful. The animals look good too, like you guys have mentioned they are made to be comfortable but I've also heard they aren't very durable.  Maybe I'll even buy a rear boot and try the dual boot setup. I have some trouble keeping my rear heel strait so that might help.
  17. If you've read my thread you know I don't know much about ski's so I'll leave that to the other guys. But I have read from a couple people that they have had a hard time getting the right fit/size on RS-1 boots. So it would be nice if you could try those on before you bought them.
  18. JJ, I appreciate your advice. I am not at all familiar with modern equipment, I have basically skied in a bubble :). What sort of temperatures would be considered for the water to be "cold water"... although I live in Canada and not Florida so I imagine I ski in colder water haha. Is the MPD also a really stiff ski? I've read reviews saying the ski fits well with skiiers of many skill levels but I think it was made to be an elite ski.ÂÂ
  19. First of all cheers for all the tips in regards to finding a new ski.  Now I'll need to find a way to keep my feet on the ski. :) I am looking for a left foot forward binding and RTP for the Radar/HO/Obrien hole pattern. I wear a size 8-9 shoe. I am looking for something that is easy to get into and comfortable but proper support to ski hard is necessary also. Preferably something that comes out in a crash but again not a requirement. I don't want to have to guess my binding size so something that fits a small range of foot sizes would be nice.  I'd like to be able to adjust the bindings forward and backward on the ski, does that mean I need a plate? I don't really know what the plates are for so if someone can fill me in there that'd be appreciated.  I've been looking into old school looking wileys, radar rails's, HO Amimal and the Obrien Bio... I have no idea which is the best RTP... I'd do more research but the season is winding down and I still want to get on the ski this year so if you could help me narrow it down to a couple options and feed me some pros/cons I'd buy you a drink when we ran into each other on the water. Cheers, Mike.
  20. Hi Corey, I'm in the process of sending you an email. I am actually dealing with someone right now in regards to a Radar MPD but I'll keep an open mind, maybe pick up both and see which fits me better. The system 8 probably fits my skill level a little better than the MPD but I have heard good reviews on the MPD from intermediate skiers so who knows.  Thanks. ÂÂ
  21. Cheers Brent. I've emailed the seller so we'll see how that one turns out. I've also come across a couple Radar MPD's at sweet deals so I've read reviews on them and apparently they are forgiving, reviews saying they don't accelerate very fast seem a little off but it looks like people say good things otherwise.  Thanks for the heads up on shipping with USP, I'll be sure to inform potential sellers that I'd prefer other companies.
