  1. Mine clicked and inspection showed that my neck washers were pretty well worn out. I went a different route w/ replacement, and got stuff from Mcmaster-Carr ...no more clicking now, and presumably the delrin washers will hold up better. Take a look at post #12 from this thread....  www.proskicoach.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1787
  2. I'll take a stab at answering that one. We had SS at a clinic this spring. At end of day I was in the boat while he free skied at either 32 or 35 off. After he dropped, a girl in the boat asked him what changes do you make to convert that to 15 off...to which he replied....let the rope out and I'll show you. There was plenty to learn by watching him ski 15 off...much more than you'd get from any scrapper.
  3. open this page, and you should see the -pdf link to the instructions in the top right corner www.radarskis.com/boot_tech.html
  4. Not sure where you live, but If you ski in cold water, the closed toe Strada are worth the extra coin. Both are very comfy.
  5. Chef....I have same issue as you. As was recommended to me here...standing ski on its nose when checking dft will help.Â
  6. rq, I can't verify how current or accurate the following info is, but I found the following from a tech file off the Radar website... 7. I've had zero problems w/ Strada and RTP, and am very confident in the release characteristics (much more so then w/ prior Animal). This has been touched upon in other threads, and I honestly don't recall hearing anyone voicing unusual concerns.  As has been said a multitude of times...just don't crank down the bungees.Â
  8. I didn't think that the Theory came w/ an adjustable fin block?
  9. See there....now that is the helpful & prompt customer service I was referring to. BTW, absolutely love my Eagle vest (from of the customized group buy Tadd set up awhile back).
  10. Animal... sounds strange. I have a 43 chest/34 waist...my XL Eagle (Bird of Prey) fits great. If anything, it may have stretched a bit since I got it. I think you might be somewhere nearby (I'm in N.H.).  Be glad to let you try mine as comparison if so.  I've found Eagle's customer service to be very  helpful and prompt to reply. Don't hesitate to call or email them for sizing advice.   Â
  11. My Flip Ultra HD zooms in? My guess is the most important feature when filming from the boat is the "image stabilization". I recall reading on another site that there are different technologies/types of stabilization....some far superior to others and not necessarily more expensive.Â
  12. Hey...glad to assist, Laz...(especially after your laparascopic hernia repair advice salvaged my Spring/Summer).   Yup, that is how I ended out owning both boots...ordered the Vector last summer...at the time not thinking about cold water ahead.  Late season, I bumped up to the Strada boot (which is my preference of the two) and put the Vector on the wide ride. Although I'm a RTP guy, one warm foot is better than none.
  13. At 185 lbs, consensus would be you'll probably not want to go longer than 67" in the Strada.  Best buy on caliper would be the 8" digital from Harbor Freight for $30 or so (take the battery out after to use to prevent it from accidentally turning on and running dry). Else, spend more money and spring for the slot caliper.
  14. Hey Laz, I own both, Strada mounted on a Strada...and Vector on a Theory. Both are sweet boots...I've not had release problems w/ either. Obviously there is plenty of support out there for the Strada.  As I believe you are located up north, if you are indecisive between the two, you might want to let the closed toe warmth benefits of the Strada be the deciding factor (something easy to overlook now in the middle of summer). Coming off the Enzos, there will be an adjustment period, but in the end you should be pleased. Take it easy the first couple times out. Initially, it is difficult to trust to run them loose, and the urge is to crank down the bungees. You'll quickly gain the confidence to progressively run them more loosely...as intended. (edit to add) one consideration (good or bad?) is that you can step right into the Vector and go. The Strada may require some tinkering....heat molding liner, customizing fit w/ different insoles, etc
  15. Is the bottom of the ski still green? (If so, along w/ the red & silver, its going to look like a Christmas present)
  16. My big toe is a bit cramped out of the water, but I don't notice it once I start skiing. Try different insoles. If your foot will accept it, using a higher arch support will essentially shorten the length of your foot...and may give you some relief. I used Paul's method of pre-stretching the liner, and for whatever reason, had better success then using a "toe cap" when molding.  Sorry I can't figure out how to link to the video, or the thread (perhaps someone will help).  Currently on page 4 here , there is a thread entitled  "has anyone had their boot liners shrink after heat molding" . There is a link to video in the 4th post.
  17. In a perfect world, we could drag his ass back here, and offer him to TW- for use as a guinea pig for head through handle studies. Â
  18. I've been pleased w/ the Radar Ergos...primarily since they don't bunch up in the palm.  While the lime green color can fuel the occassional wise ass comment, it also makes them super easy to find in your boat....  "Function over Fashion" in my book. I'd also like to give the Storms a try.
  19. Budman, Oddly, I had a similar experience w/ my Strada liner, and also had a large toe cap on, looking for a bit more length in the toe box. Post-heat shrinking was confirmed by the way the Strada footbed (which is not heated during the process) is now "bunching" to fit, to the point where I even needed to trim a bit off the tip of it. I occassionally stick a cedar shoe tree in there when it is wet, hoping to try to stretch some length back into it (but any suggestions for a  long term fix would certainly be welcome). My concern is that re-heating it now, might cause it to shrink even more. (edit)...replaced my liner 6/10...having much better success w/ new one. Also had good results w/ Paul's fitting technique (below). Thx Paul.Â
  20. Is it fair to speculate that this "Strada 55" will be next season's updated version of the Senate C ?
  21. Update...just back from hospital after having laparoscopic repair done on "moderate" inguinal hernia. Let the healing begin!!   This was a far different experience than the open repair (scalpel) I had done on the other side 18 years ago, when layers of stitches felt like a ski handle was buried under my skin. Thanks all (particularly Laz) for the advice.
  22. Is duct tape not effive at holding down that piece of fabric? A small piece of duct tape has held up perfectly fine on mine.
  23. Thx again, Laz. Following your advice (and the others who said not to delay).. I've got another surg consult Mon w/ what I hope is a "wizard of laproscopy", who comes highly recommended from a heart surgeon wifey works w/.ÂÂ
  24. Thx, Laz. My umbilical hernia is not a concern at the moment. Based on the location of the inguinal one (half way point between naval and "little dave") surgeon felt scalpel was the way to go. Good advice on the excess fat....I'm not carrying much at the moment. Spent the last several months doing P90x and getting down to my fighting weight of 185 in anticipation for a good season (best shape I've been in years)...which now makes this all the more frustrating.
