  1. Is that your usual 67"? (BTW, looks like someone stole the sticker)
  2. I'm a bit bias...owning an 03 Lxi, but definitely prefer my wake to the 07 Lxi I occasionally ski behind.
  3. I'd be interested if anyone cares to chime in on if ...and how a "boom" can be useful at this stage....
  4. Digging that orange EP that's holding up the wall....brings back memories
  5. my personal tip...be aware of what might be underwater for the short distance in front of you. Hitting your drag foot on a submerged cinder block can ruin your day :s
  6. I've got a bad case of tennis elbow (outer pain) on my right side (usually its the left). Have been using the flexbar. At @Marco suggestion, I put a strip of my daughter's pink KT tape on it last night. Hmmm, significant relief. Not sure how or why this stuff works. I'm all for placebos...if they work. I'll be picking up some more of this stuff...just not in pink. Thanks Marco.
  7. Wow! I'm be curious how and if an orthotic would help that. I have the opposite issue...a high arch and instep. RFF...without my insole, my foot it flattened in the boot, and the ski only wants to go left. My arch supporting insole resolves this issue. I'm thinking shimming with washers...
  8. Yep, definitely interested in trying...or reading reviews on it. I am curious as to whether it is geared towards the recreational or advanced crowd.
  9. ......drop another $100 and get a second one, and rotate them
  10. Hopefully that $27k gamble pays off for the buyer. It does pique ones curiosity as to how a S.C. registered boat ends up in Pittsfield Massachusetts...without a trailer.
  11. Just picked up a used D3 for my daughter -who is a new skier. Going with factory recommended setting (28") and Wiley bindings, can someone confirm that measuring point should be to the rubber begins at the base of the heel (rather than from the plastic "horseshoe"/base)?? TIA
  12. Agreed...while they are super comfortable, flexible, and warm...lack of durability is the downside. Another buddy of mine recently got the blacktec shorty. He skis in a conventional uscg vest, with three (primarily) exposed belts. The abrasiveness of the belts amost immediately starting wearing through the outer layer of the "forearm" section of the camaro. The USCG vest I occassionally use (Radar X Vest) has the two belts enclosed under neoprene on the sides of the vest......a much "friendlier" design as far as compatibility with the camaro goes.
  13. We had this discussion in the boat this morning. If durability is a concern....BlackTec for sure! My black tec shorty is holding up far better than my buddy's modetec. Black Tec also is thicker. I would presume this makes it warmer.
  14. Being about your size and owning one in the past....(if you are going to be skiing 30 mph and faster) I vote 67". That 69 Senate is a really big ski. I'd be interested in hearing one of the Radar guys chime on on what speed they base that sizing chart on for the Senate...
  15. You may also want to look into a pair of clincher style gloves. They may take some of the strain away from your deep water start woes. BTW...nothing wrong with NH free skiing.
  16. @Zman curious...where in Southern NH did you ski?
  17. I agree 100% w/ Brody (although I'm not the level skier he is). I've been pleased w/ the release of my Reflex. Last month, first day of vaca, got in a bad postion, lean lock and forward over 2nd wake. Ended in a bad.... actually a very bad and violent, OTF. Reflex released as expected like a champ. Unfortunately my face smashed into the horseshoe on the ski...fortunately just below my nose. Any higher or lower and my nose or teeth would have been crushed. Almost four weeks later, still haven't got full feeling back in front teeth. I'll take a smashed face over an achilles injury any day. (gratuitous picture of the beginning of a much larger bruise that filled the inside my mouth and gum)....
  18. I keep one in the boat, and have had great success with newbies using one of these "deep Vee" training handles...that help to keep the ski straight during pull up. I've also found that some of the "newer" style bindings have a lot of "floatation" properties in them, that can be detrimental for those learning the deep water start. overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gladiator-Slalom-Trainer-Ski-Rope&i=839424&r=view
  19. I wonder if the heel block can be retrofit into the current system...
  20. @rq0013 Rob, you may want to refine that link....it brings you to the SIA site...but not specifically to the ski
  21. Did you see this post from the other day.... ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/13793/stealth-boots
  22. My youngest (soon to be 14 yo) daughter is almost in need of a slalom ski. She is a petite 5'-1", 103 lbs, with womens 5.5 feet. I don't anticipate her getting much bigger. She is likely to remain a casual recreational skier. I'm thinking the 63" RTA is a good ski choice for her, but wondering what others are using for bindings? Her foot size translates to a mens 4 or 4.5, which falls below the Radar offerings. Any thoughts or suggestions....
  23. @gregy black VR140-Pro mounted to my 03 RLXi. Required cutting the mounting/horseshoe bar in half to install with the RTS-100 bracket. I also have the Resin CFR-200 bracket that I use on occasion.
  24. Having bought one of these ($50), I will answer my own question (in case anyone interested). Yes, this is a well designed product with plenty of velcro. It does not flap in the wind, and provides good protection for the mirror when not in use.
