  1. wider is better, and an aluminum fin is better than plastic
  2. Expecting 2014 Curve mediums in mail tomorrow, and will report back on fit. Still steaming at myself for driving off w/ my beloved (medium) Radar Boas on the car roof Sunday (rushing to get sick daughter home from lake). I just can't mentally deal with paying $89.99 to replace them. ***Update (7/9)...gloves arrived. Sizing (M) seems true, and about what I expected. If you have "sausage fingers" these are not the gloves for you. Now I just need to get them wet...
  3. In support of what @Razorskier1 said...I had a 26yo friend at the lake last week who is a very good athlete. He had previously skied on two skis years ago, and got right up on a nice set of new $200 67" combos. The next day he wanted to try slalom. To my amazement ...and relief, he nailed his first deep water start (deep V training handle may have helped) on the slalom ski from the combo. I let him ski a little ways, then dropped him, and promptly had him put on a backup 67" Radar Senate w/ Vector boot, that I keep on hand. Despite the tail being a bit narrower, he got right up on it first try again, and said he was amazed at just how much more stable it was. He was pumped to be introduced to the world of slalom. Next day I got the obligatory text from him saying "my everything is sore".
  4. @Ed_Johnson‌ , Since I believe the Eagle Platinum has extra floatation, could you compare it to the Camaro as far as which floats you better? Thanks.
  5. @Deep11 Agreed, tried it for the first time yesterday w/ iPhone 5s...same issue, grainy and wavy. Please post if you should find a solution. It is a great concept in that it does not engage/film until gps senses the speed you dictate.
  6. @BraceMaker, easternadaptivesports.org Correct, the heaviest would be the very large/stable sit ski with both the skier and support person riding it. Thanks.
  7. My daughter and I were helping out with the local Adaptive Watersports program yesterday, and the director mentioned he needed to find a source for "quick release(s)"....primarily for use with the sit-skis. Any suggestions? Thanks, in advance.
  8. I'm 5-10", on my '03 RLXi I put close to a 3" spacer on the driver seat rails...and still use the flip up bolster 90% of the time. I love the boat, wake, tracking. Gripes would be limited to the driver ergonomics, windshield design, and bow can be chili dipped if not careful.
  9. Here is another shot that shows a couple different ideas for the "cap" if you want to use bungee to fasten an iPhone down, etc. Also, you can see the "noodle" that goes inside the cap
  10. I've made a few of these things. Its pretty simple. The key is getting the right width of the "groove" that the rope rides in. It needs tension to move properly with the rope, and varies some by the type of pylon and also type of rope (knotless don't work as well). The few I've made have a piece of slightly oversized Styrofoam noodle stuffed inside to help dampen the vibration.
  11. @efw...if you could only stretch it to be a 67", I'd grab it at that price.
  12. a helpful video explanation of what @Marco is talking about (at 3:00 mark)
  13. I've dropped down to about 180 lbs, and find my XL is now a bit loose on me (bought last year, lightly used, excellent condition, guaranteed pee-free...you wouldn't want to pee in these). Anyone have a Large (in similar condition) they want to swap w/ me? Else, I have paypal if anyone interested in purchasing...say $110 (can email pix). PM me if interested
  14. Does 67" length sound right for 175-185 lb skier (34mph)?
  15. Went Tuesday for annual. Biopsies from both ears came back today negative (phew). Apparently was residual cauliflower ear (from being punched or something earlier in life). Doc says I should avoid pressure to ears...try to use speaker phone and not sleep on side (...yeah right). Get your checkup!!
  16. @chris_logan‌ thanks. I think I misunderstood what @Fatroll meant by plastic spacers....I assumed he meant the thin plastic WASHERS to which you refer. The "threaded neck washers" sometimes referred to as "shouldered washers" are aluminum. I would contact Radar if you are in need of some of the them. They do wear over time.
  17. not sure if the plastic spacers (washers) are even necessary...they are very thin.
  18. ...and as a long distance customer of @waterskigirl ....I can attest that her customer service rocks!! Its also nice to support the sponsors of this site when possible.
  19. @ral yeah, I just grabbed it out of your recent post, and cropped it down to hopefully show the RTP. With full credit going to your buddy....I deleted the cropped photo from above post, and here is the entire photo (as the father of two girls....I can appreciate the value of the full pic)....
  20. @eur0sport ....yup, that is what I'm looking for. I spotted that recently (but they only have S or XL). There doesn't seem to be any Mediums or Larges around. I'm not sure if Connelly is still making them.
  21. Thanks for "planting the seed" of a good post @MattP . I hope the dialogue includes theories on whether spacing and placement should be the same regardless of foot size. I've often wondered whether peeps with size 8 feet should follow same measurements and spacing as those w/ size 12+.... Also if foot size has advantages or disadvantages....since a large footed skier's feet can contact/control 20% more of the ski
  22. Thanks @dave_n I was actually referring to the RTP in picture of the worlds (3 posts up)...the one that looks to have an aluminum silver plate. I am familiar with the HO fixed plate...only wish for one with a bit more thickness and contour to the foam bed (I've got some high arches). Ideally looking for something like the bed of the Radar ARTP without the adjustable strap.
  23. Well below was the pic from the Worlds a couple weeks back. T-Factor front boot, but I'd love to know what type of RTP that is. It looks like the footbed has some contour to it, but the strap is fixed....just what I'm looking for. The only contoured footbeds I can find are the one size fits all ones with adjustable/bungee straps...which I do not care for. When kicking in, the tongue just flexes forward...making it tough to get a tight fit.
  24. @MAD11, cool, thanks. So to confirm... you mounted the "micro-adjust" gizmo at the "mid point" insert fastening slot, and presumably "dremeled" or milled out the fixed screw holes near the heel...thus allowing plate to "slide"... before fastening the micro-adjust down?? Any issues or tips w/ dremeling/milling the carbon plate? Thanks, again.
