  1. Excited to see the new boat. If it skis as well as our 2016, I couldn't care less if it says Centurion or Supreme on the dash. All 4 manufacturers supporting three event skiing should be commended for continuing to innovate in a very small market.
  2. I bought my yellow before the blue hype started. My favorite D3 of many, including the X5, a couple of Fusions, and the Helix H2. Didn't raise my PB but it increased the consistency of all my passes dramatically.
  3. @cragginshred - thanks for the video. Definitely a number of good additions to the cuff workout I have been doing since my dislocation last season. I love the addition of the one leg on a stabilization surface.
  4. Congrats on an awesome boat. I'd be shocked if there are no lights. In fact, I checked the build sheet on my 2016. There is a no cost line item for navigation lights (91A). Can't imagine they would build one without them. One potential source of confusion is that the plug for the white light is up by the glove box. I think based on length they aren't required to put it all the way at the stern. I seem to remember my Supra Comp was the same. If there really are no lights l think overtons used to sell so kind of flashlight that could be mounted to the bow with suction cups. Surely there is a more elegant way but you'd be drilling and running wires.
  5. Interesting, I went with the smaller ski because I thought the 63" was huge for him. He only weighs 70 lbs. I'll try him on it to see how things go- I have 2 bigger skis for him if things aren't better.
  6. I just bought my son (10) a new (used) slalom. 59" O'Brien Elite. It came with the semi-hard shell bindings they made, they look non-releasable. My gut is to mount his Wiley's and rtp on and toss the double boots in the shed. Is there any benefit in putting him in double boots?
  7. @jhughes, I agree Eden is sweet. Now if only someone would build a lake exactly between Eden and McCormick's off 75 we'd be all set... @rawski - sorry I missed you down there
  8. Just came back from a week in Venice, FL. Took three trips to Eden. That place skis great! Ultimate is nice too, but Eden is really nice and Arthur is great.
  9. I had this problem too. Super feet inserts didn't work for my feet, and after lots of PT it looked like custom orthotics were my only answer. I was in the process of having molds made when I tried "sole" footbeds. They have worked phenomenally for me. I now wear their flips exclusively and footbeds in just about every shoe I wear including my hard shell bindings. It's been a good 5+ years since with no pain.
  10. Great season for me. My oldest son (9) really started advancing and running multiple passes. Next year he will be chopping the line for sure. My younger guy (7) mastered deep water starts on slalom and is on his way to a full pass in 2017 for sure. My first year as a promo guy was a lot of fun as well. The Carbon Pro was well received throughout New England and it was a pleasure to represent such a great product. I was skiing pretty darn good too, tied PB a couple times in practice after a few years of not getting near it. No big tournament scores but a couple of "something at 38" which beat 2015. Ended a bit early with a nasty shoulder injury in early September. Aggressive rehab and anxious for spring 2017!
  11. I'm coming up on a personal deadline to sell my 2016 promo or run it another season. I need to either make it happen by early November or hold on for next season. If anyone is interested it has 163 hours, fantastic condition with a 6.0L engine upgrade, all the skiing options. Boat skis, runs and tracks awesome and will be replaced with an identically equipped 2017 Carbon Pro. Located in the northeast, winterized and I'm happy to store it for the new owner until spring, but it is coming off the market early next month if not sold. Lots of pictures available, pm me for a great deal.
  12. We leave ours in- just replace what is broken in the spring - ice never moves them
  13. Here's our 2016 Carbon Pro promo- 6L slalom machine. Lots of PB's set behind this boat in 2016, there's still time to make it your tug for 2017!
  14. Just looking at the promo section on ski-it-again.com shows very little change from August to now. Maybe it is down one thanks to @jhughes! Skiers just need to pass the handle on that old perfect pass tug and get a fresh promo. No one is getting rich off selling their promo, just hoping to order next year's boat so they can be "first to arrive" and "last to leave" at the events we all enjoy. All 4 of the tournament boats on the market are amazing machines that will perform incredibly well for years to come.
  15. @BuoyChaser we need to try this at that pond behind your place. We can use my Jeep and your boat...
  16. @scotchipman and @escmanaze - Agree completely. I wonder if having multiple 6" systems would have the same effect as a larger one? I assume our market is not large enough nor do we have deep enough pockets to justify manufacturing something not otherwise commercially available. At one of the sites I ski I think this might work to dampen reflected chop, but I can't see it allowing someone to run -38 with a loaded surf boat running on the other side of the barrier though.
  17. I've often wondered about whether these would be effective for breaking up backwash. It seems they absorb the energy by rotating the components. Probably too small for the application but it would be interesting to try. No idea about cost per foot. http://www.antiwave.com/products/antiwave-maximum-6-inch-racing-lanes
  18. @jcamp I have Ed Brazil lined up for an ice install this winter. I'm sure he'd love to have a project in Vermont as well if he is coming north. If you can leave it in permanently I wouldn't mess with a floater at your depths.
  19. I once had an issue with a wire that had worn against the motor mounts and exhibited similar symptoms on my mastercraft. It's a shot in the dark for sure, but worth a look. This will be a super easy fix if that is your problem.
  20. Anxious to hear what you think. I was planning a little glove comparison test this September but some unscheduled downtime happened. I'm trying Radar BOAs and HO Syndicates, both non-kevlar. Ironically the box was waiting for me with both pair when I returned from a season ending crash. Looking forward to getting them wet in the spring!
  21. Great site @Horton! This site has helped my skiing tremendously. @Cent congrats on the new ride, you are going to love the it. Hope I'm still chasing buoys in another 30!
  22. I use docs pro plugs. Not a tricker but I've perforated my ear drum multiple times. Never while using the vented plugs though, just when I get lazy and stop wearing them. They work great, just thread the lease through the tag on you vest and they are always there.
  23. Buy a promo with a warranty! There are 4 great boats on the market now. Higher hour boats/older boats probably warrant a mechanic's inspection. Lots of options across the price scale.
  24. Mostly Carbon Pro or 08 196 6L. Occasionally a 200, 2012 197, or a sport nautique 200. All ZO boats. I have an 05 197 with ZBox/PP at my family's place. Just 1 set on it in 2016. Tough to evaluate because the course is widely off and the boat typically pulls kids so it was set to "feather". I certainly don't ski like a feather! We did run this boat at my normal ski site last fall and it performed great. I ran a bunch of 35's on it and things felt reasonably normal.
