  1. Ski partner just bought a 2021 200 with a 6L. Drives and tracks good, bit of a dog out of the hole. Sea level, running the 668 Acme. Looks like the 422 is the next step up, anyone have experience with this setup? Boat feels like a dead fish handshake compared to CarbonPro 6L on A2, up it to A3 and it felt better but still weak. So is 422 enough or should he go 654 or 1458?

  4. Love my 2022 and was planning on waiting for the release of the 2024. It’s been the best ski for my performances ever and the only ski on which I’ve run 38 at a legit 34.2. Now I’m thinking I should try a 2023 next spring… I’ve been riding the even year Vapors starting with 18… but now I’m questioning - maybe the odd years are the more refined version? I did try some crazy settings on the 22 and went into a mid September slump. Went back to stock long and shallow and I’m right back to the top of my average. Still skiing great in the frigid waters of NH.

  8. Radar gloves- amara with BOA- same as I always use and intow blue bomb 1.094 radius with anti-roll. Probably the 3rd handle I’ve run in that size and configuration- 1st with the blue bomb bar. Maybe that is the issue?
  9. I’m struggling with grip fatigue that seems to be related to slippery new gloves and/or new handle. Is this what all this soap business is about lately? It’s killing my left forearm (LFF- so palm down). Soap, sand, brake cleaner - I can barely hold on - what do I try?
  10. @santangelo - there appears to be a 2921 in the new part number whereas the old one had a 2016. Glad to report she is back on the lift and ready for action tomorrow.
  11. @santangelo - I do not know. We’re still waiting for our new part from Fineline. Allegedly due to arrive tomorrow at the local Centurion dealer. I will share the part # when I have it in hand. @shoeskiman - the DIY was a single post in a Malibu forum. Sorry I don’t have the link but if you google livorsi throttle repair you’ll find it quick
  12. I had an interesting conversation with the Livorsi tech as @ali and I were thinking of getting the old throttle rebuilt as a backup. Apparently the issue is commonly in the circuit board and they have redesigned it with zero failures on the new ones. As such, we agreed it was a waste of $195 to rebuild it in light of the fact that we ordered a new one. There is a post out there on another forum about how to repair this if you are good with circuit board soldering.

  14. Ran one of these for a few weeks last season. Great ski! But then again I skied 5 others that were great too! Right up to my practice average in 1-3 sets on Goode, Radar, Denali and D3. There are some great skis out there right now!
  15. I was on the 20 - silver and am now on the 22 white. The 20-21 are the same except for colors typically, major changes are every other year. Much better offside for me, quicker to accelerate and more consistent. I’m running much more consistent better passes on the 22.
  16. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. @ali - you can just keep filling the gas cans and I’ll clean the boat! I chickened out on the more aggressive chemicals like on/off (due to fear of ruining my garage/driveway floor) and went with Collinite’s boat cleaner followed by their wax. Pretty incredible results, especially with the orbital polisher I borrowed. Waterline disappeared instantly as did the staining up on the main white stripe.
  17. @Skoot1123 - they are definitely stains in the gelcoat. Can’t scrape them off with a fingernail. @PatM @scoke - I’m going to start with the ON/OFF then proceed to some of the things that seem like a bit more work if it doesn’t work.
  18. Another great season in the books for my boat partner @ali and our 2016 CarbonPro. As I’m preparing her for a long winter’s nap, I noticed a bunch of stains in the white gel. We have a lift that makes it hard to thoroughly wipe down, but I suspect these stains are a function of the waterline cover that didn’t dry out effectively most of the summer. Any suggestions for getting the white back to it’s former glory? All the hand scrubbing I’ve done hasn’t done much…
  19. @Chris Rossi - you guys nailed it on this one! I’ve been on (and loved) the 14, 18, 20, and now the 22. By far the most consistent of the bunch. Still haven’t touched the settings from stock. Finally pulled the boat for the season this past Friday but the ski rips even when the water cools off.
  20. Old thread I know, but my patch job on our 2016 CarbonPro didn’t hold up this season. Just winterized the boat and I’m looking to get the “doghouse” back in shape. I bought a kit last year from discount inboard marine and it really didn’t last (probably installation error…). Is there a secret to the surface prep that I missed?
  21. @lpskier pretty much summed up my experience with the C85. I road two for several weeks this summer, medium and stiffer flex pattern but both “mediums” per Denali. Crazy consistent at 35, which I hadn’t run in a tournament since 2019. At one point I had a streak of like 15 sets where I had run right to 38 off the dock. I then proceeded to blow an early five ball (on-side!) at the tournament… I had an extensive demo on a c75 last fall and ran some pretty consistent 35’s on that too, but the 85 was so much easier to jump on and ride. I could run wild passes on the 75 where I’d break at the waist, and suddenly be right back in it. The 85 seems to still have that but I rarely found myself in that position on the ski. It never felt like a radically unique ski like the 75 did for me, it was just crazy consistent. I’m not on it anymore, but I wouldn’t hesitate to grab it and ski a tournament with minimal practice sets. It’s a great ski.
  22. I did mine a 5 years ago, but I don’t think it was as bad as I don’t recall all the bruising. I had some cuff and labrum damage but the recommendation was not to do surgery unless dislocations become chronic. Skied in a shoulder brace for a season or two, but now I use a couple strips of KT tape as a placebo effect or some additional support if I fall that way again. Mine was thankfully end of the season, but I started right back the next spring and am currently skiing as well as pre-injury in spite of this and some other unrelated surgeries I’ve endured. Shoulder sphere helped me tremendously with strengthening for recovery.
  23. I’ve skied the 22 Vapor, NRG R2 and Denali C85 this season. All highly capable, and none you have listed would hold you back I’d bet. I’m currently on the Vapor and really love the way it turns. The Denali had an automatic offside for me, and the NRG was very forgiving on both sides of the course. Ran my best practice scores on the Vapor followed by the C85, but I’m pretty sure if I’d tried the NRG later in the season the gap between the three would be no more than 1-2 buoys.
  24. I train behind one regularly and really like it, especially from 32 and shorter. @jercrane - the 200 6L we have at the pond now has 50# in the nose and skis really nice. He runs it way low on fuel too!
