  1. So I ‘ve been in a bit of a slump. As noted above, when in a slump, check your fin. So I checked my fin. Sure enough it had moved back 10/1000 and the rear set screw was missing. After fixing that, I checked my bindings (which are mounted on a slide.) I’d tightened them up recently but hadn’t checked to make sure they are were they are supposed to be. Well, I’m thinking that correcting a 5/8” slide forward will pretty much fix my slump. I wish I’d discovered and corrected that before Regionals.
  2. There is a dedicated practice lake in addition to the two slalom lakes, the trick lake and the jump lake. Practice for jump will be limited to the jump lake. The practice lake will be busy all week. Typically, you get your ticket, go to the practice lake, put your name on a list and wait your turn. The system works pretty well.
  3. I ran 7* wing angle on the Vapor Pro with a Denali S wing.
  4. So how does he start with a T7F and follow that up with a RT5B? Isn’t the first trick the trick and the same trick in the opposite direction the reverse, whether you are rotating into a wrap or not?
  5. I did switch from a Radar Vapor Pro to a Denali C-85, but not because the Radar wasn’t working. If I hadn’t liked the Denali so much, I might still be riding the Radar. It was great at 32. So I don’t necessarily think you need to switch skis unless you aren’t on the right ski for you in the first place. And while it is a little harder to get wide, it is a lot easier to make space. What you lose here, you make up there.
  6. Make your fin smaller. I took out 7/1000 of depth. Decreases drag.
  7. I think @scoke is in charge of practice.
  8. @LoopSki And how long your anchor line needs to be (3x water depth). MC has a brilliant clam shell cover for its open bow boats. Makes it look like (and repel water like) a closed bow boat.
  9. It should not affect your decision at all. Riding in the bow is a bad idea in any boat, so Malibu is no worse and no better than any other bow rider. For what it is worth, the driver of the boat involved was not skilled and made significant errors himself. He was the grandfather of the child involved, as i recall. Terrible no matter how you cut the mustard.
  10. @susb8383 Wait…, if you’re made of stone, won’t you just… sink?
  11. “Ski on the longest ski you can turn.” KLP
  12. Analog calipers, spare fin, various nuts, bolts and washers (enough to replace anything I might lose or someone else might reasonably need, two sets of wing angle gages and a couple extra three d printed gauges in small angle sizes, a collection of different wings, + and - screw drivers, short and long shaft 5/32 Allen wrenches, pliers, tape measure, centering ruler, $20 (with a story), box cutter, double sided tape and small rubber hammer.
  13. If you can find one, try getting up behind a boat with a tower and the rope attached to the tower. The angle of the rope will be more “up” rather than pulling you through the water. Alternatively, shorten the rope to 35 off. Again, you will get more pull up and less pull through the water.
  14. Yeah. Looks like a racing ski. I’ve never heard of Hustler skis. Probably West Coast specific, as is racing.
  15. Ramp tricks were once popular in trick runs. But they took a lot of time relative to the points could earn, so eventually they disappeared.
  16. I don’t know any of those guys, but apparently having the name “Colin” could be a disadvantage. Two of them on the list.
  17. Lou payed center at NC State under Lou Holtz. Of course he’s not going to give up.
  18. Hey, great news! I found your water. Right outside my camper door.
  19. We lost a M9 jumper to a dislocation yesterday. Poor guy.
  20. @Wish my friend’s mom was so strict, he had to wait an hour after eating before he could run through the sprinkler. Really.
  21. I guess the moral of the story s to watch where you are going.
  22. @owennibley If your feet are too far apart, you can overpower the tail of your ski. A typical spread is between 11 and 12”.
  23. Try really tightening your core muscles as you come up out of the water.
