  1. Heel lift does allow further off side counter rotation if thats what you want. to achieve similar position as your on side this may even be necessary.
  2. @Horton I would never coach it, however I would suggest all skiers to at least try loosening their rear binding. I skied for 10 or 12 years with what I call technique and it wasn't until I put new velcro on that I realized the huge mistake a clamped down rear heal was... At first I suspected bad Velcro but that was not the case... It was the inability of my heel to lift up... Andy uses a relatively long edge through the wakes which would explain his heel only slightly raising in his transition. It is most apparent when I have a super early transition and hit the second wake or trough that it is very pronounced.
  3. @Horton I haven't skied as much as I'd want the last few years, but I still run 28-35 skiing no more than 2 (short, 4-6 passes) sets a week. 1 set a month in the winter in skiing months when I ski winters. I skied three sets since July of last year. One a month ago, 40's water 50's air ran 6 - 28's Saturday I skied with Cory in SRB ran 4 28's. The Last set was 2 28's and 1 32 then 5 @ 32 heavy tailwind. @OB and myself have a longstanding friendship and rivalry for many years... Tournament average was 2@39 first couple years in M3. Since then I only ski for fun but still compete when I feel like it or not enough participants to support skiing I can't seem to edit my profile. says multiple people with same email... I ski a 67 Prophecy now but only skied maybe 12 - 20 sets the last 3 years since I got it. I love that ski... Andy's heel comes up a bit on the video above Is there a way to search and see what I have posted in the past?
  4. I did not realize it until I started ripping the plate off of the ski in the back, especially during real early transitions. It happens when I transition at the first wake, as the ski passes the second wake and I roll from edge to neutral. That's when the heel would come up. It started with new velcro. I use a shortie rear hard shell that will release the heel up like a RTP now.
  5. @OB lacking your sponsors..... I stopped begging for your buddy passes to be your wing man a couple years ago. I'll never forget the last time... I only slalom so no jumpers for me 6 28's thanks @TylerR
  6. @Dano @Horton When you haven't skied in 6 months, you run down to the lake when you see someone is out riding jumpers... thanks @BCM @skibrain
  7. I skied today for the first time in about 6 months. Water and air were C O L D !!!!!!!!! What do you guys wear to cover your face? That was the only really bad pain.
  8. It's not just arms. It's a combination of swing, lower body, core, upper body and arms. It's dynamic and not a single "thing". It is there in varying techniques and motions in many skiers. It's about gaining width and position by adding power. It's about control of the line, handle and position.
  9. Yes he is pulling himself up on the boat in the transition. He is also getting into better position with more power with 2 hands. Nate does it as well and it is most easily seen from the shoreline... It's there and it's clear if you are looking for it JB used to make this a clear move too...
  10. Knees to your chest and KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT
  11. I use Hot Shot Foggers/6 on my porches, garages basement, storage sheds and roof on the dock, the product lasts for the entire season as long as 12 months for me. No gloves, glasses or any protection necessary. It's cheap and it's available at Home Depot, Lowes and Wal Mart. Look for the green box. I suggest using generously and buy plenty. If I see any signs of ants or any bugs I just hit 'em again... Use of the product has completely changed outdoor living for me.
  12. carp and copper sulfate lake coloring helps if there is no water flow in and out
  13. Any slalom skier setting a world record is always happy with a 1/4 buoy score. This score earns them world record bonuses from sponsors and the recognition of a world record with the ability to do it again with a similar performance. Getting to 4.5 is much more attainable then getting to 5 ball. I'm sure Nate would have been happy with 2.25 so he might get 2.5 later with a similar run (if that ever happens).
  14. Thanks for your opinion and honesty. Very few of us have the opportunity to test skis like you do.
  15. Does Nate use one? If so, which one.
  16. George it's about kids, newcomers, new skiers, new sites... We need more participation... It's not really about skiers at your level
  17. It's a great idea. Please pass it. For kids, newcomers and one round tournaments this would really make a difference. I have NEVER, EVER missed my gates but it WILL help those who might be at their first big tournament and are nervous at a new site. No tournament is won from someones opening pass.
  18. All weight matters. The ski and bindings travel a longer path than the body, so 5 more pounds on the ski will have a greater impact on performance than additional body weight.
