  1. The move at the pull out for the gate is a move I try to copy of a JB transition/pre-turn move.
  2. Well said in the past...... "A skier can apply force at any time, and in many possible directions, and so has significant control over the path taken." This pic should not be mistaken for his gates...
  3. @ob can be seen at the pull out for the gates and 3,4,5 and 6 pretty clearly. .
  4. Yes these are the types of settings I have used since about '99 when I learned from some pro's. I also run my bindings back as well. I usually don't miss 35 in tournaments.
  5. Andy, I hope you reconsider. Almost every skier in the universe wants to watch you ski. As a skier who watched you run 4 @ 43 in Charleston @ 34 and finished second to you by 14 buoys, it was one of the best days of my life as a skier and I will remember that day for the rest of my life. If nothing else, please ski tournaments at M4 to show the world what is possible at 34 mph. Chris
  6. So, after a few years with my bindings back of stock, I tried to put them to the stock setting. For me, the ski was less responsive and harder to handle. Everything felt more difficulty and it felt harder to apply technique in the transition, pre/turn and turn especially. I usually don't miss -35 @ 34 Where do you run yours and why? Have you tried binding placements and what are your results?
  7. . If you get blisters, before they pop, applying bleach to the blister will cause the body to remove the fluid and it will heal flawlessly most of the time..... . I use a Bic Metal razor to remove thickening skin or calluses as stated by 303skier. I swear by it. The skin comes off fast and smooth. . I use liners, gloves, and I hold the handle in my fingertips most of the time. In addition, I use a 1.09 or largest handle I can get from Brenda at in tow. . Most of the season my hands look like I work in an office....
  8. about half of the top ten men slalom skiers in the world ski a toe plate
  9. his fibula is 5 inches off the ski so he is on his tip toe for sure Nate Quote: "Well I learned to ski with a rear toe plate. I have not tried double boots. But the advantage that I think there is with a toe plate is that I am able to lift my heel up which allows me to get on the front of the ski more in the turn. If you watch whatever video you have of me you might be able to see that my back foot is up almost all of the time."
  10. for Nate it does.... Nate Answering my question - "Well I learned to ski with a rear toe plate. I have not tried double boots. But the advantage that I think there is with a toe plate is that I am able to lift my heel up which allows me to get on the front of the ski more in the turn. If you watch whatever video you have of me you might be able to see that my back foot is up almost all of the time. "
  11. . What are you doing to prepare for a new PB this year? .
  12. @ haines ZO is perfect for slalom. You go, the system goes with you to compensate. Use the PP switch to compensate for you going. You go, the PP switch will go with you to compensate. Run plus and or plus plus to help emulate the newer stronger boats. Use up to 40 on the switch to be sure the boat can keep up with you depending on your strength as a skier. You can't run soft settings on PP and think that will match ZO. ZO keeps close to constant speed. @ phil "very little" is absolutely unacceptable. If you want to match the power of the newer boats Put a smaller prop on to raise the RPM and that will give you more power like the newer boats.
  13. Why would any of you risk running a system with a history of surging. I would never EVER ski star gazer under any conditions. Use the original perfect pass with a switch for a ZO like pull. .
  14. . Knees bent is a result of countered body position and not bending your knees. It is a result and not an action I run between 1/2 to 1 inch rear heel lift to get my knees closer together. Knees closer together allows for better countered position, especially on the off side. .
  15. What does this mean to you? "A skier can apply force at any time, and in many possible directions, and so has significant control over the path taken."
  16. SO well said an important secret that almost all skiers do not understand "A skier can apply force at any time, and in many possible directions, and so has significant control over the path taken."
  17. The real question and the missing piece : Maintaining your direction as you leave the second wake will allow you to swing wider, and therefore higher on the boat. That, is the most important part of carrying speed, How do you do this? That, detective is the right question.
  18. I LOVE this video and the comments.......
  19. Well stated Lieutenant Dan. At that time I was running 38 at 34 mph and he was running 39 at 36 mph and winning pro events. Other than asking questions and taking notes, I shut up and tried to understand what he was telling me. If you improve you position over the ski in the transition/preturn, this will allow you to carry more speed.
