  1. He probably verified the chart at his home course in Dousman, Wisconsin.
  2. I need to pull out some photos. My memory is shot. She's about Gidge's size but I don't think its Gidge. I'll pull out my photos tonight, I gotta head out and chase some balls.
  3. Schroed, I swear that's Denny Q and Liz in that picture. I need to pull out some old photos.
  4. I think that was Chico State's team boat.
  5. I had an 03 206 and loved it, so did others in my ski club. It pulled like a tank; tracked great; was well built; and the wake was indistinguishable from a 196 (imo) once the rope hit 28 off on down the line. It also had a very good trick wake. The biggest knock on it was wake size for slower/lighter skiers. One girl in my club weighed about 95 pounds and skied 26-28 mph and she complained about the wake. None of the shortline skiers had any complaints.
  6. 40/40 isn't that big deal with ice-breaker gloves, double boots, drysuit, and wetsuit hat. The biggest issue is cramping feet and hands. I've skied in near freezing water and air temp with that setup and a hot shower on board (when I was younger and dumber), but its a real kick in the crotch if you crash and come out of your boots.
  7. Mine came last week. I'm very impressed with it.
  8. Squat, deadlift, overhead press, bench, BB row, pullups, push prowler, run stairs, repeat. Question: what do you "cardio" advocates mean by "cardio"? Jogging? Something else? I just don't see how steady-state cardio is going to help you much in a 16 second pass (and steady-state cardio tends to strip rather than build muscle), but staying lean/losing fat is a big plus. High-intensity interval training, sprints, etc., would seem to me to be better for ski training.
  9. The repower is the big one, other than cosmetics, which you can see looking at the boat. Replacing an interior of a boat can be pretty expensive but the interior will either look worn out or it won't. Are you going to drop in Bob Tail or something less of a repower? IIRC a Bob Tail pretty much covers all things mechanical.
  10. Barbell Squats; Front Squats; Zercher Squats; Deadlifts; Barbell Standing Overhead Press; Planks (side and pushup position).
  11. FSR (fiberglass stain remover) works magic on mineral stains and rust. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/WestAdvisorView?langId=-1&storeId=11151&catalogId=10001&page=Gelcoat-Maintenance#.UZAlRuCGbHM
  12. There's lots of ways to skin a cat. Personally, for me, when I want to cut, I use Carb Night Solution, and when I am where I want to be and want to stay lean, I run Carb Back Loading. The guy who runs this site, and who wrote CNS and CBL, John Kieffer, knows his sh*t, IMO: http://www.dangerouslyhardcore.com/ Calories play a role, but insulin manipulation plays a bigger role in fat storage/muscle generation. Last year after a year of sitting on my ass and eating way too much crap, I was too fat to ski, and when I decided enough was enough I cut from around 255 to under 200 in about 4 months give or take on CNS and a basic weight training routine.
  13. Horton, it sounds like you really like the Prophecy. I may give it a shot, I'm partial to Connellys anyway.
  14. At the boat show two years ago, when there was only a few in production, the factory rep told me I could get a new base model for $40k without haggling, but that the price would go up shortly after production ramped up. Mid $40s sounds consistent with what the rep told me then.
  15. Thanks, Mateo, yes I did get a deal on the 2011, it was a lot less than a 2012. But I don't want to pinch pennies and be unhappy forever either. Where did you set your bindings? Mine are dead center now, I am wondering if back one would help.
  16. Chef, I've heard good things about the S2. I may give that a try. I also think I want to try the 2012 Prophesy. Mateo, how much do you weigh? 67 seems pretty short for an over 200 pounder. Jay, adding a different fin seems like another variable I don't need. I also wonder how the ski would respond to moving the bindings back a notch. That's where I've always ran my Connellys.
  17. The F1 is a good ski, I really don't have any complaints. I just wanted to try something new, I've been on it for a while. I picked up a new 2011 68" Strada at Wiley's that I can exchange in the next few weeks if I want to. I am using the same RS-1 bindings I used in the F-1. I have a few passes on it, but I have a hard time on my offside with it. Its very stable and fast on my onside, but I get stuck a bit on the offside and head down course. It might be my offside form, I tend to break forward at the waste a bit wehn I make a mistake. The guy at Wiley's told me to put the boots in the middle and leave the fin at its stock setting. I am wondering if I wouldn't benefit from some fin adjustment, but I am not very knowledgable on these things.
  18. I can't remember if these run big or small, I'm a 9.5 do I go with 9 or 10s?
  19. I'm feeling like I want a new stick. I'm on a 68" Connelly F1 that I like just fine, but I think I'd like to try something new. I'm currently 5'10, 204 lbs. as of this morning. I'm a 34.2 skier and spend most of my time between 22 and 32 off, but hopefully some 35s are in my future. I was thinking Prophesy because I have had good luck with Connelly's, but is there anything else I need to take a hard look at? Also, does the model year matter that much? I'd prefer to not pay full retail of I can avoid it. I have Radar RS-1 bindings that still work just fine and will probably stick with then, unless there is something out there that is a significant improvement over these bindings that I should try. I'm curious what the Baller's think.
  20. My recommendation is for Steve Maxwell's Encyclopedia of Joint Mobility DVD. Its worth its weight in gold. http://www.bodyweightbasics.com/products/maxwell_jointmobility.html
  21. Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicooooooooo! Damn. I wish I could go. Have fun, fellas.
  22. "Its a ballet, not a wrestling match." Also, words of wisdom from my dad teaching me to slalom: Me: What happened? Dad: You fell. Me: Well, what should I do different next time? Dad: Don't fall.
  23. The Carbon Pro is a lot lighter. The website says its 2100 Lbs. http://www.centurionboats.com/boatbuilder/carbonPro_CarbonPro.html
