  1. That's a great looking boat. I am trying to close on a house next week and need to think of a way I can convince my wife that by selling my current paid-for boat and financing that one we could afford more furniture. I'll need a little time to figure out how to pitch that one.
  2. Which engine is in your boat and how many hours do you expect to have on her by Oct. waterskigirl?
  3. The "pickup" boat is the one that pulls Women's "B" Tricks at a college tournament. Trust me on this one.
  4. Hmm. I don't see anything in my BOS inbox. Maybe the PM didn't go through.
  5. MS, PM me a phone number for the rep or e-me @ jjackkrash @ me .com. I am not in a position to do anything this second, but might be more towards end of the summer/early fall. Thanks.
  6. Anyone heard what a used '11 promo Carbon Pro might fetch or ballpark what the promo guys are asking?
  7. Update: I took a little swipe off the rudder with a grinder and it had little effect. I am going to get a little more aggressive and try again.
  8. Shane, that's not my experience, but maybe the sun doesn't shine as bright in Houston as it does in Dallas. :) Regardless, that black sure is awesome to look at.
  9. Wow, those are sure pretty, but man-o-man don't lean on the black boat during the summer in Texas. It would take a spatula to pry you off.
  10. Hehe. Most of mine don't appear all that original any more. For the geeks: "Mr. Crusher, Engage." For the Caddyshack fans: "Welllll, we're waiting."
  11. Enjoy: http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/2192/carbon-pro/p1
  12. I drove the boat Yesterday and had my grinder handy but I had some kinks with Stargazer and my electrical system and I didn't get to the grinder. But I noted that the rudder is dead neutral and the boat floats a bit in the course so it needs to happen. I'll probably take a pass at it this weekend. The boat also lists a bit to port when under power with even weight and I am wondering if a little rudder torque will help with the list. We shall see soon, I suppose.
  13. Hmm, I can do that, but I will need to bring the aircompressor and generator to the lake.
  14. Thanks for the tips. I may break out the file today if I can work up the nerve.
  15. I'd like to add a little rudder torque to the Am. Skier--its pretty neutral right now. Which side do you grind on for a non-nautique (port or starboard side)? I have heard conflicting reports so I'd like to hear from someone who is 100% sure. Any other tips before I start grinding? Thanks, Jack
  16. When I was competing "approved speed control" meant you had a rated driver; the jumpers always checked to make sure all the barrels of the carb. were hooked up; you needed a guy with a stop watch to make sure your speed was in tolerance; "adjusting the fin" meant drilling holes in it and filing it; and if you ran 38 that usually meant you had finished the game because unless someone had specially ordered the rope, there was no 39 and a 1/2 loop.
  17. I think that Carbon Pro looks bad-ass. I'm not usually a fan of red boats, but that black really sets it off.
  18. I dropped the American Skier in the water at Broho last night for a water test and it ran like a champ so i called Tim White this morning and the Stargazer is on its way. I am pretty stoked to get back on the water. Thanks for the input fellas.
  19. Thanks guys. E.Tx.Skier, so, because I have am American Skier, the throttle linkage on a used unit might not work? It seems like the length from the hammer to the engine on a mid-mounted boat would be pretty standard. Shoot, I am thinking I'll just call perfect pass and pay the money.
  20. I need to get speed control for an older mechanical-throttle boat. There are a lot of used Stargazer systems out there for DBW boats. Can these systems be made to work for a mechanical throttle with the purchase of another piece of hardware, or are they totally useless for a mechanical throttle? If so, what additional piece of hardware do I need? Thanks in advance, Jack
  21. Mike robertson is pretty good. For core training I like heavy squats, standing overhead press, good mornings, and the powerwheel. http://www.fitnesslifeline.com/product.php?productid=2 Just holding the push-up position (planks) for time is great as well. For skiing especially, the core is a stabilizer and that's the way you ought to train it.

I think they only make these things to fit chicks and Christian Bale when he starred in The Machinist. I need to get down to 171 lbs. to get to the largest size they offer on their size chart for 5'10". The last time I hit 190 lbs. I was sitting right around 10% bodyfat. I haven't been under 171 lbs. since 9th grade. I guess I need to keep shopping for wetsuits at Thornton Mellon's Big and Fat shop. :)
  23. Hehe. Now I am going to see if I can dig up some pictures. I think your dates are off or there were three barns. :)
