  1. @Horton, this is a classic example of a rule that fails to achieve its intended purpose because of its poorly crafted wording and execution.
  2. He will now. PanAm rules mandate at least one Overall athlete in M and W.
  3. Yes. The run-off was due to Olympic/PanAm rules, where a maximum of 2 athletes per country can be in the Finals.
  4. @Horton, looks like there is a PanAm video app. Not sure if it shows all events.
  5. Nope, as it will be in open TV.
  6. If you made all passes just after your second attempt, leave the ski as it is.
  7. @water_skier1, what is a normal training set in the course for you (speed progression and number of buoys in each pass)?
  8. You enjoyed this tv commercial… RPReplay_Final1689421510.mov
  9. Interesting… Everyone here shares this view? If so, I might thing testing something other than B.
  10. For sure the Miranda family have been and are a cornerstone of it. But it is also the combined effort of several families and actors. When I see comments on our sport dying and that someone should do something (especially that rules for tournaments should change…) I always think about what we have achieved in Chile, by doing rather than waiting for something to be done by someone else. Doing in our sport is teaching kids (and adults), helping and judging in tournaments, building lakes. Anyone can do at least some of that, and if many do, the results will show.
  11. Congrats to Team Chile for the 2nd place, showing that, with hard sustained work, a small and remote country can compete against the best.
  12. @Horton, that is tempting. Only USD 10 per Panda!
  13. Too early and not enough coffee sounds awfully like aftermath from what @Bruce_Butterfield mentions.
  14. 41 off is an approximate number (10.36 m). The exact number is 10.25 m. It goes from 38 off every 0.5m: 11.25, 10.75, 10.25, 9.75 (43 off) and then 9.50 (0.25m).
  15. Leave them in the sun, and they will do crazy stuff.
  16. @Horton, I love the analog Mitutoyo. A work of art. I also almost only use mechanical watches. Got to love them! @ColeGiacopuzzi, compare apples to apples. Digital Mitutoyo are more precise, accurate and consistent than analog Mitutoyo, which are probably more consistent than a USD 20 digital caliper. But for sure USD 20 digital calipers are way more consistent than USD 20 analog calipers. Analog calipers have advantages in some conditions, like high magnetic fields, or extreme temperatures.
  17. Pre-relasing for a kid under 1000 points would be very unusual. When I say early release, it is a fall where the trick gets off but there was no injury risk. Annoying for the skier, but safer I would say that most likely releaser was on the slow side, and/or too strong a grip on the release rope for your friend.
