@wettek69 ,some backing info: I have worked in the industry for quite some time (and have zero relation to environmental groups or activism), and the commitment to replacing diesel with hydrogen and electricity is in most of the plans and reports from the largest players. Companies like AngloAmerican are investing in green hydrogen production, they see this as a good income source as well. Comverting a diesel engine to hydrogen is easy and, in many geographies where mining is present there is or there will be excess solar power capacity during daytime, so hydrogen will be very cheap. On electrical mobile fleet, in a mine it is easy to install a trolley system in the fixed parts of truck movement, so battery capacity is less of an issue. Many large scale trucks are already electric in their drivetrain, fed by onboard diesel generators (this make more efficient truck in high geographical altitude environments), so the conversion is also easy. Many large shovels are already electric (and have beeen for a while). Just as a side note, in large scale comminution mining, diesel is not the main energy source, electricity is. Mining companies see getting away from oil as both a way of lowering cost and also keeping their right to play in the market, as License to Operate is their main concern.

@Jody_Seal , large scale mining operations will be switching to green hydrogen and electricity for their mobile equipment fleet before 2030. Just in case, these same machines move around the same amount of earth to get the materials that are needed for building regular cars.

I believe the “I always drop, period” option should have been listed. In man made lakes, not dropping will usually mean less than perfect conditions.

Attaching small fin with double sided tape helped a lot mine to get up and start crossing the wake. After a short while, just took it out without telling them.

On the pair of skis, looks like few kids start with two trick skis now. Where I live, none. My two girls started with one, and straight after tied small combos.

One comment on in or out of both boots. RTP skiers are always in only one boot during a fall. What you should try to avoid in a setup is the risk being out of your front boot and not out of the rear one. Which is also what happens in a front binding pre-release.

@liquid d , fast chargers are being developed by some non-car makers, like ABB, ChargePoint, BP and Shell (the last two being kind of indicative of the future trend…). It should not be an issue.

Lithium is abundant in the planet. China is not at the top of the list. The largest ones reserves are in South America and Australia. But abundant enough almost anywhere. There is not a big risk of a geopolitical play/squeeze on lithium reserves.

If I were you, I would do 1 28, which you will run 100% of the time, 2 30s, 2 32s, and 1 34 (or 22 off @ 32, depending on your top speed) on a good day where you run your 2nd 32 or both, or 3 32s. JMHO.

@Bruce_Butterfield , the market is driving electric vehicles. Tesla is leading the pack not because of subsidies, but because people line up to buy them. Because, among other things, you can own a car that can go 0-60 in 3 seconds without being a millionaire. Where I live (when not in West Palm Beach), solar and wind are now 25% of the electricity generation because they are cheaper. Not because of subsidies.

The main environmental concern with oil, natural gas and coal is the CO2 release when burning it. Many forget to mention that an electric engine is a far superior alternative in terms of efficiency (over 85% of energy used is converted to mechanical energy, vs less than 40% for internal combustion) and much lower maintenance cost.
