  1. No idea on the format, I know that you can post via Instagram and YouTube.
  2. Short answer: I do not think so. Long answer: what is your heigth/weight? Post some video. If you are in a very short ski for your size (unlikely if you are using a 67”) you might have some issues. But video would be the best tool for getting feedback here.
  3. Camaros are not difficult to take on and off, but they are VERY delicate.
  4. My deepest condolences Marcus for you and family. A big loss for the sport and the world.
  5. + 1 for EZ Fin. Very useful as well for measuring depth.
  6. Reflex makes an adjustable RTP. I know it is pretty good for small feet, not sure about bigger.

    Lake dye

Thanks! So what is the ideal dosage for Sentient? Really effective for weed control? We redid the bottom of our lake and, with the pandemic, grass carps are scarse where we live. So looking at alternatives.
  8. The ION is an “evolution” of the EVO, which is a traditionally shaped ski as well. For sure a much larger (69”) ski will launch more at the wake. Shape of the EVO and ION are very similar.
  9. The ION is a traditionally shaped ski. It is designed to have a carved turn (wider R2 is designed to have quicker turns). It should not have any particularly strong mid and frontal support. I have not heard anyone mentioning D3s have a hard wake (or that concept applied to any other ski).
  10. What are the products used out there, and what is the annual cost of using them? Thanks!
  11. @swbca , tournaments. Not training. Did not mention anything about character, just training plan. BTW, if you are driving them regularly thru the course, don’t they pull you as well?
  12. Falling a lot while training (slalom, tricks is a different animal…) is something that does not show the intensity of the commitment but a lack of a reasonable training plan and focus.
  13. @mike_mapple , thanks! I will email you.
  14. Question from a foreigner. What is the rationale behind regionals being required?
  15. How do we get the BOS discount?
  16. I would argue against 15 off being counterproductive. Hips up, very difficult to do by just going for it. Hips are not going up if you load the line early without allowing the ski to turn (buoys 3 and 5, where the ski is behind you, see the effect of this at the wake crossing). One of the good pieces of advice I have heard (besides @scoke ’s octane suggestion) is to “split” the turn into stages: 1) turn 2) grab the handle 3) get into position and 4) start loading, when you “feel” the boat is there to support you 5) work behind the boat, and not at the buoy. When, instead of staging it you do all of the above at once, you might get a really good turn now and then, but more often you will not.
  17. It is more than 1mm for sure. It used the same holes, with a much taller lug. I did swap many back in the time. They had a kit to replace the old one.
  18. Maybe a newer setup might fit and close in an older Silvretta, but the angle would be different.
  19. They moved it up by making it taller and beefier. I woud say it is around 1/3 inch higher, but I haven’t seen an older one in some time…
  20. First of all, I would recommend all Reflex users to either have a lot of experience in setting them up, or get help from an expert (I was a Reflex dealer for a number of years). Second, Reflex changed the height of the boot back tab where the binding touches the boot when the Silvretta 500 came. They put it higher. The one you are using in the video is the newer one. Compare the boot that works OK with yours and see it the other one has the older height. After that: Although I cannot be 100% sure about the amount of pressure you require to apply for closing it from the video, it looks like too much. If you are putting on the binding woth your boot on, you should be able to close it with one hand. Neiter with just two fingers nor with both hands. Looks like you are using the old atraching system that has two small pieces with 4 bolts on each side of the Silvretta. For a number of years, the alu one that allows a micro-adjustment in the release unit position has been used for precisely being able to better adjust the closing position. Boots are different and wear our and get looser in the binding with use. Many of Reflex’s related accidents and mishaps are because of a poor setup. I would not recommend to use it unless you are 100% sure it is correctly fitted.
  21. 42” should work for them. Take in account that they need to use the same front foot if they want to share it.
  22. So you want something that prevents your arms from being straight when going from the buoy to the wake??? I am not an expert, but I do not know it something that limits your elbow ROM would do any good to your arm when resisting a boat pull. A jump sling (not that you would wear one while slaloming…) uses a totally different mechanic, limiting the elbow distance from the body, not the elbow ROM.
  23. I do not have any issues with runoffs. They are actually in line with @Than_Bogan ’s initial idea, and one of the exciting parts in a tournament. An extra pass for every skier will make things longer, more painful to watch, confusing and slower that runoffs (all get 1, not just the occasional tie for qualifying and first place).
  24. I have never spent any time thinking about it. Whatever is in the dock, usually cheap dishwashing soap, diluted or not. Most dishwashing soaps are promoted as biodegradable. If you do 30 sets per day, at a generous 10cc per skier, it would be 300cc per day in a 100,000+ m3 lake. 100,000 m3 is 100,000,000,000 cc. I would be more worried about the gas and oil the boat puts in the water.
