  1. Almost anything is allowed, provided it does not move while skiing and is considered safe by the Safety Director. Devices affixed to the ski intended to control or adjust the skiing characteristics of the ski are allowed if they are fixed so that they do not move or change during actual skiing. Skis must be safe. There must be no unnecessary sharp or abrasive (to the touch) metal, wood or other attachments to the ski which could, in the opinion of the Safety Director, inflict injury to the skier should he come in contact with the ski in a fall.
  2. How is the fit compared to the Leverage? Can you ski a long set in warm water without foot pain and cramping?
  3. Interesting to see how two drastically different and seemingly unrelated “mandates” are preceived as potentially having the power to collapse the sport…
  4. On the video posted by @scoke, if anything, I see him trying to show the front of the hat/logo while holding the ski and the trophy (@ 10:23:57).
  5. @lpskier , my point is that “hoping Nate can still walk when he is 35 years old” does not have any logical support, when he has yet to take any major injury-related break, and that the vast majority considers him the most efficient skier out there, usually running 39 and 41 as the rest run 35.
  6. So the answer is none, correct @swbca? I am confident Nate will be skiing and walking without major issues 5 years from now.
  7. @swbca , what pro slalom (not jump) skiers can you mention that could not walk anymore when they reached the 35-40 year mark?
  8. Including but not limited to the surgical extraction of a large splinter in the big toe after stupidly kicking one glove on the dock. Although that one was not exaclty a slalom fall, but my slalom ski was there, ready to be used…
  9. @Bruce_Butterfield Got it. Thanks. U21 Worlds are ruled by IWWF and not AWSA, and there is not a mention of anything that would classify (or not…) a skier in a “Professional” category.
  10. @LeonL , just curious, what does the rulebook says, and which rulebook are you reading?
  11. @swbca , D3 measures are using “flat” caliper measurements. If you do not know what that means, look at
  12. It is not from the release lever, but from the back of the boot.
  13. @BraceMaker , it is not in the 2021 Rulebook, and I failed to find your posting in the 2020 versions I have. Which version are you looking at?
  14. @ScottScott , you can shorten up before max speed as per IWWF rules (8.01), but you are scored at 18.25m until max speed, regardless of the line length. Skiers lower speed to avoid starting at longer lines, but are scored as if they were.
  15. Scoring for 32 off at 32 MPH if top speed is 34.2 MPH is not @ 28 off but @ 15 off, at least as per IWWF rules. @klindy should know if it is different in AWSA’s rules.
  16. After looking at my 12-year old daughter ski the course @ 43-46 k with her 66” ski without complaining about the wake size, I shoved my wake-whining attitude…
  17. You are at the hospital firmly tied to a backboard, the doctor informs you have a broken neck and need surgery, and your first question is how much time off before being able to slalom again.
  18. Reflex, you will not cramp at all and even forget you are using it.
  19. I strongly believe that the forces at 28 and 38 @34 MPH are much more similar than the ones at 32 and 41 at 36 MPH. But maybe just my impression.
  20. Did you thermoform the liner? You can use a sock and an additional cut sock tip to give more toe space.
  21. Always remove it. Not only because of not leaving it under tension, but also to make sure it is correctly attached every time you ski.
  22. Not exactly what you are looking for, but my two girls have skied in a Reflex Wide 66” all the way up to shortening the rope at 32 MPH. The fact of a ski that size being able to turn, cross wakes and perform for 80lb 11-12 year old small girls at 30-32 MPH is pretty darn good IMHO. Construction and durability are top notch as well.
  23. I personally do not see what is the big issue. Worried about the world record stalling? Look at the high jump, latest was in 1993. Almost 30 years ago.
