@Skiphreak GS racing made slalom course skiing come much more natural to me that I think it otherwise would've. Timing, rhythm, the "C" turn thing all play into it. Patience of gliding into the turn is very similar as well. These days I always make symmetrical GS turns while skiing and envision turning buoys. On the flip side (leverage vs glide), flat ski on snow = fast. Flat ski on water = bad:)
I raced USSA for well over a decade, and yes there are similarities between a proper giant slalom turn and rounding a buoy. The stack vs glide phase though couldn't be more different.
$40k is long out the window, but with Chevy able to make a new 1LT C8 for $65-$70k, a ski boat could definitely be on the market for around the same. But with such a small market, it would take the big 3 do to it, and they're not going to bother.
Plycar is one of the best, if not the best. Expensive but white glove treatment. I have a Ferrari broker who can get special pricing with them, if that at all interests you?
I don't think it's a lack of interested buyers, it's pricing outpacing our ability or desire to pay. The herd of buyers is thinning, there's no question about it.

Pricing is just crazy on new boats. Every single friend of mine who used to religiously buy a new boat every year or two is no longer buying…and it’s 2 hands plus worth of friends including myself. I bet I’m not alone in this anecdotal data set.
