  1. MSRP ice GS22 $154k; GS22E $313k. :o
  2. Regardless of what the politicians do, it would/will take a few generations before gas stations start to become obsolete. I'd like an electric boat...no winterizing alone would be a win for me. We did test a Plaid a few weeks back, just to see, as the dealer had one from a trade. Not much space on the Tampa streets to get stupid with it, but it will pin you to your seat in a big way. The EV overall performance just didn't connect with me though, so we went ICE as originally planned. There are many visceral things the EV just can't replicate for me. Nice to still have options though (for now) :)
  3. All I know is I saw some angry folks in very long charging lines last week in FL. I don't how some of these random EV mandate dates will not get pushed out? Where I live, Kwik Trip and Casey's are putting up new gas stations left and right. Apparently they're not preparing for this EV future.
  4. You're right and neither is global warming actually. There are/were opinions on both sides. Well, I'm out. Taking my 8mpg TT V8 out for a ride now >:)
  5. John Coleman founded the Weather Channel didn't believe in man-made climate change. Nice to have options, whether ICE or EV, but I just don't want it forced on me due to something political. I grew in the 70's when global cooling was the "scientific consensus" after all:)
  6. But as long as vehicles need body panels, tires, electronics, dashboards, seats, etc. they will be tied to oil. An inboard ski boat is a 20' petroleum product whether the motor is ICE or not :)
  7. The earth is not running out of oil. We're over-populated with people who don't want to drill for it.
  8. 1994! EFI, great wake, sports car handling and just cool looking. I downgraded from a '15 Prostar and couldn't be happier, although I don't ski as much as I used to. Obviously the '15 was a better tug, but the '94 is way more fun to drive, and I spend more time in the seat these days.
  9. Just stumbled on this on our local c-list. Seems like a good deal, just remove the tower:) https://eauclaire.craigslist.org/boa/d/holcombe-1997-mastercraft-prostar-190/7451089263.html
  10. My family had a '92 205. Great slalom wake!
  11. I wonder if high used boat prices are here to stay? I'm not sure new boat prices will ever come down, as I've never seen it happen, and that's clearly driving used prices up. Ha, I remember when I first saw a ski boat hit $40k and thought, we've hit the ceiling in this market!
  12. Guys like me are adding to the crazy market. I have a perfect older boat that I wouldn't sell today for double what I paid for it, as new/used replacement boat prices are just way too high. After a dozen or more new boats purchased over the years, along with a handful of used ones, little did I know my current Prostar could very likely be my last boat ever.
  13. I ski RRF, but LFF for everything else (skateboard, snowboard, surf, etc)
  14. What a great looking boat! It'll sell quickly I think. Sucks about your situation. I slipped on the ice shoveling last week and broke 2 ribs, bruised a few others (whatever that means) and tore some abdominal muscles. I'm 48 going on 84...may have to resort to surfing:(
  15. That time is catching up with my body :s
  16. I'd be curious to see how many prior new boat buyers now consider themselves priced out of the market? Myself and my family used to religiously buy new boats, but we're out now. I don't expect a $40k tug, but no way I can personally justify 6 digits. Like the famous Seinfeld episode, "I'm out Jerry!" :D
  17. I struggle with my own definition of GOAT. Andy is no doubt the greatest when it comes to podiums, but Nate is the best ever at skiing a course. 25 -41's this year is unbelievable.
  18. Be forewarned Firebird is very thick salt water. Don't go out the front on that lake!
  19. Lose the rest of my added covid weight.
  20. Whatever comes to market, I just hope it's better than what we have now. Sure buggy whip makers are gone, but the car was leaps ahead of the horse and buggy. But also, GM can do what they want. I have no interest in their car offerings anyway. When there's still a demand for ICE boat engines, someone will fulfill it pending no gov intervention. Maybe Toyota marinizes the Lexus V8 again:)
  21. Exactly @Keith_Menard ! When the tech is ready, and the market demands it, not when some politician thinks it should be ready.
  22. The Volante would be way more "family friendly", as that Bu is really tiny. But like @andjules mentioned, look out for soft or rotten wood stringers (both those have wood btw). I also agree with @LoopSki that seeking out a Prostar 205 would give you everything you want. You'll definitely pay more than $8k, but it's the complete package with great resale down the road.
  23. That boat would look fine on the water, with green below the waterline.
