  1. Having a snow option nearby does not usually bode well for academics for most students. Reach out to the teams, they are more than happy to discuss or host a visit.
  2. Don Joy Bionic Drytex Knee Sleeve Sleeve is better than the Wrap, and usually has to be ordered.
  3. The Jeep Wrangle 4xe is an example to look at. 21 mile distance on all electric, then hybrid option and gas option. Perfect concept for a private lake ski boat. Electric for your morning sets, hybrid or gas for your all day/tournaments. It is only slightly heavier than the big engine Wrangler 392.
  4. @Vernon Reeve why do you think that? I'm curious because in my experience Electric is either Stop, or Go, like a golf cart. If anything I would feel the opposite, it would be harder to alter hole shots. If there were hybrid options, where one or both modes were used, then I think that's an option.
  5. Electric engines don't idle. Just sitting there ready to go. Idle time would not factor into run time.
  6. @FSSPCat @dbaconaz there is no such thing as a mid-2000's 205.....
  7. @DW most of the Vail resorts have not fully opened their terrain, so more people and less mountain is the main frustration. Staying up in the mountains helps avoid the nightmare I-70 has become. Yes, the Vail area has been heavily invested into by Latin America.
  8. @swbca collegiate programs often take the "recreational" skier being referred to, and expose them to competitive skiing, its a common occurrence.
  9. Yea, not sure when/if it will ever "stabilize". These are the new prices. It is cheaper to order a new Jeep Wrangler than buy used right now. For that money I would talk to your dealer about ordering a new boat.
  10. There aren't other options, this is required, creating our own would be too cost and resource prohibitive. For my job in order to access healthcare facilities I must take annual training including HIPAA, BBP, OR protocol, etc all are 3rd party supported trainings that meet set standards and guidelines. Same thing here, SS sets the guidelines, and provides the training that meets the set requirements. Going on our own would not do any of that.
  11. Sheer power on the water, and grace on land. Got to boat judge for him one time in 20mph head/tail didn’t phase him, and I’ve never seen a pylon and driver get worked like that. NTX skiers are very sad today.
  12. There needs to be a differentiation between SafeSport, and the new judge requirements. Unfortunately there is no option around SafeSport. However further requirements for already dwindling judges is not good. Tournaments already run thin on judges, and this will only increase the amount of “ski and leave” participants. What incentive is there to be a judge anymore? This will burn out those who already work too hard to make tournaments run.
  13. Being “inundated with requests to judge” and “plenty of new ones to take their spots” don’t exactly go together.
  14. It will only help. Wider handle easier to grab for spins, and a wider grip will help with flips. My recommendation is to get used to it, and practice your handle passes. You'll notice you don't have to reach as far, and it's right there waiting for you to grab.
  15. It’s not even Jan 1st, and already been deactivated. And they want my demographic information now? Yet another “surprise”…
  16. Again, @scuppers is not an AWSA member, and is only here pushing his political agenda and mentality. Throwing around generalizations about BOS and AWSA members as being "libtards". Who would have imagined the day we would have these terms being posted on BOS and @Horton do nothing about it?
  17. @robert6262 can you give further detail to the direct letters from Congressional leaders and what they were commenting on?
  18. @Killer Why is a previous DUI applicable to one's current boat/skiing driving ability? There are plenty of opportunities to identify if someone is under a substance, I don't see how a past conviction applies to a current volunteer role that needs more volunteers. I know plenty of rated Drivers who have had it expunged off their record. To @NameUnavailable 's point, it's becoming not worth it to do a sanctioned tournament, nor keep up judges/drivers ratings. It's not fun anymore. I am more qualified than most trick judges, but its not worth my time to get my Regular rating, and thus have more work/less fun during a tournament. Drivers sit in the boat all day, judges sit on a tower, trick judges stay after a tournament for hours to reconcile runs. Why would you add more requirements to these roles?
  19. It does seem as if the SafeSport concerns have shielded from the additional requirements. It is hard enough to become a Regular judge, which I am working on, to add more requirements is just another reason to not. As has been said, we need judges to have tournaments, and need to make it easier to become and be a judge.
  20. I love the gesture of $15 off my membership renewal, which I won't have for another 1-2 years. If I do not complete the training and become ineligible, do I get a refund on my remaining membership? Also found this interesting in the FAQ's "Those who do not complete the required SafeSport training within 30 days of joining/renewing their USA Water Ski & Wake Sports membership, will be ineligible to participate in USA Water Ski & Wake Sports activities, including tournaments and competitions, and will have a flagged membership until the training is completed." This reads as if I have until my membership renewal, not January.
  21. Just to note, @BS74 and @scuppers are not members of AWSA and have not been for quite some time, @scuppers going on 9 years. For them to continue to berate, call names, and argue with actual members including board members shows that they are simply using this for their political platform and stance.
  22. People buy whatever the "pro" shops are selling. Couldn't believe there were shred ready's worn at the Worlds.
  23. I'll also add, waterskiing has its audience and participants, it's just too concerned about growing and adding new people rather than sustaining and maintaining current participants. It's easier to retain customers than gain new ones. There is an audience for skiing, it's just being ignored.
  24. Some of the best information yet, thank you for sharing. The over-reliance of volunteers overall is a major constraint. I'd take it a step further, don't even include the course, just get people on skis. Or majorly support public water courses.
