  1. My family had a great time at the River Ranch Great job! The evening crowd and pants fall down guy at the Embassy was priceless. The San Marcos river was a great place to cool off. To bad the streaker skier tripped over the tent stake during that intermission of the Big Dawg final, I guess those sanburrs were a better omen of judgment :) I was so confused on which boat I was gonna pull him behind there were so many nice ones the purple K-state boat was my first choice but on the wrong lake. I really liked the hospitality tents they were awesome. Thanks River Ranch see ya next year.
  2. Wilmington weather forecast. Looks to be nice and cool
  3. Fri Aug 1 80° 58° Isolated T-Storms Chance of rain: 30% Wind: NW at 6 mph Details Sat Aug 2 79° 55° Isolated T-Storms Chance of rain: 30% Wind: NNE at 8 mph Details Sun Aug 3 79° 57° Partly Cloudy Chance of rain: 10% Wind: NNE at 7 mph Details
  4. @GAJ004 I know during Nationals bikes were not needed due to shuttle bus. We have been told bikes are a nice option, no shuttle.
  5. @MattP I would think that would cause more confusion > not sure. We deal with that on practice also. Just saying looking at flat calm water one day knowing the next day during the tourney will be gail force winds is depressing. Ins. is always tuff to handle maybe not doable in this case. This website is a very good communication channel for idea's to be checked by actual accounts good, bad or other options as you and shanH have given.
  6. @shaneH that is an option and we do have a very good EVP. I would rather have the power placed in the LOC and appointed judges. This would be more flexible instead having exercise communiction channels for something I feel would better handled locally.
  7. @mattp To my understanding we cannot alter tournament dates in short notice due to waiting period on sanctioning. Could there be some sanction pre-approval for clubs that meet the AWSA rule criteria. This would allow clubs to change a date without waiting on sanctioning or being locked to a specific date. AWSA website has provided tools such as online entry status that would allow clubs to contact people if a schedule change is needed. Example 1: We had a tourney sanctioned on Sunday. Saturday (practice)the wind was 0 great skiing, Sunday the wind shifted out of the North and blew the tourney out. We could of changed to Saturday but we were not sanctioned for Saturday. All knew the wind shift was coming but our hands were tied. Example 2: July 4th flat calm practice was great, we had all the judges, drivers etc. to put on a class C tourney. We were sanctioned for the 5th and 6th, the wind blew both days out. We could of started the tourney on the 4th everyone would have had 3 good rounds of skiing. But no we were locked to the sanction dates. In our state xxxxx we have very good Seniors, Regulars and Assistant judges that follow the AWSA rule book and are onsite during all functions of hosting a tourney. If they had the flexibility to start earlier, later or change a date for Class C tourney to optimize skier performance due to weather or size of a tourney would be more enjoyable for all. I am not saying changes for L, R, Regionals, Nationals and State> JUST CLASS C. If someone uses my proposed change for their own advantage would NOT be good. In the end they would be exposed in a Regional or National tourney I would think. They could bump someone thru the rankings I suppose but hopefully with flexibility all will get the best conditions possible to up their ranking.
  8. @shortstackIf you really want impress the ladies put a potato in the front. But not like @MS with in the back:(
  9. @shortstack Do not buy elastic waist band looking cool is important. Most board shorts will balloon out on ups…huge load tweaks my neck. There is elastic type Hurley not sure brand I can look tonight but they never balloon>very important even over looks but these are cool.
  10. @AdamCord love orange koolaid but hate how much it cost:(. My future is looking bright though. The wife is ready for another ski which means her and both kids will all be riding it...IE traveling with one ski instead of 3:)
  11. @shortstack Don't overlook the Goode vest with zipper. For looks No1. for me, my son has one improved his looks:) over the Guru. Not sure of the quality only one season. I have several Guru's they are very good quality and work well. I feel the Goode makes you look thinner:) not sure it would float you or any of the vest you listed if that is a requirement.
  12. @Horton How about a Mfg's challenge Nate on a Goode with snitz and Lapoint making adjustments.
  13. @adamcord I know nothing about carbon, you do. It was told to me by Dave who said flexing skiis in reverse direction is bad. Not sure if Dave was refering to the Carbon, epoxy or what??? You being in the industry know far more, mine is just one mans opinion not even my own just hear say. What I do know Dave makes some very good:) skiis that are proven by all the championships. I have had very good experience with them, I own 5 of them with no problems. Let's have a match race and turn Nate loose on one and see what happens:). That would be fun!
  14. @ilivetoski Sorry to hear about your bad experience Goode XT. Adam gave a very good explanation of what breaks down in skis. The quality of workmanship (sealing/bonding) doing the resin part is huge for all ski Mfg's. I believe D-3 and a skier named Nate used a ski for better than 6 years and set multiple records. Sun exposure, reverse flex and structure damage (usually transporting) cuase skis to break down. I shared a 9800 with a guy for 6 years, I did notice the final year it was not as fast thru the wake. What I have noticed with carbon ski/fishing pole, if you get a good one it last along time provide you take care of....Not saying there are not bad ones as many have had bad experience. More than once I have witnessed drive X miles walk in x miles first cast the tip breaks on a Hi dollar Loomis....Not me though still use the St-Crouix my wife bought me 15 years ago. I have beat it to death thru brush rock many of falls at night caked with ice just saying :)
  15. @thager Dave quoted that very record when Rodgers went back to a very old ski.
  16. No but he did give us all T-shirts which was cool.
  17. I was told this year by Dave G that his skis never break down. I was shocked and so were others. It would not be to his advantage to say this, it was quite a large number of skiers he said this to. This does not include damage or reverse flex which he said was worst thing for carbon fiber.
  18. @scarletarrow Why do they schedule the same weekend of the MWR. Promo guys skiing and having family skiing at the MWR are really put in bad situation.
  19. How are clubs handling protecting your lake from infestation. Would this be something the AWSA could set policy or not.
  20. Thanks Fellas, Did you guys change your exhaust out.
  21. Any suggestions, Recommendations things I need to do not do. Any dealer recommendation in the Midwest area.
  22. Back in the day when when we were young bucks. There was a air of seriouness, all stood at attention when a couple pranksters played this. No laughs that day but as time passes we laugh about around campfires. Please no offense intended to our nation or military who pay the ultimate sacrifice on the alter of freedom.
  23. Just got my new In-Tow handle with the head guard, kids loved it. Brenda had knotless ropes way before others. Changing loops is so much easier than the twine we got at Nationals that did not last 1/2 season. Overall quality is really noticed when you compare side by side. I wish more tournies would use them so you could see the colors more defined. I have seen tenders forget to change, with better visual tenders, skiers, drivers and spectatures could see line length.
  24. @LeonL We have used snow fence and it does work somewhat, It is a eye sore. Depending on how much you have to do. We had 1/4 mile x 2 to do on both side of the lake, so only one side got done so the rollers just bounced off the other side. I used PVC pipe for stakes with cable ties to secure, I also double rowed it still let some backwash thru. My permanate fix was water lillies (justicia Americanna). They are highly recommened Kansas Wildlife and parks. They are using them most lakes in Kansas. The lilly will only grow to certain depths, they are very hardy and easy to plant. The lilly can take huge fluctuations in water depth and survive. The lillies will spread rapidly, each branch is a rhizon you just stick a branch in the mud or rock and it will grow. You will have to secure them at first if you are hitting them with boat wash. Once you get a plot started then you can harvest and plant them in other locations for quicker coverage. Find a lake that has them to harvest. You can pull them or cut them, keep em wet stick em in them mud. In about a week they will be secured. Make sure you are not harvesting from a lake that has zebra mussels. I have lots of them and lots of snow fence you can have but I am in Kansas. Cat tails are very invasive and can take over your lake. They will not grow in muddy water and if you do not already have them chances are your lake will not grow them.
  25. @grab3go use a easy up handle. Ups will come in due time don't waste valuable time & energy on ups. I used 67 inch skiis till 23mph, I was concerned about tip dive spooking them crossing the wake.
