  1. Stay on the long line till you reach max speed. The long line will teach you to ski wider and connected to the boat. If the rope is dropping in the water you are skiing narrow and at the ball. I feel if you shorten the rope it will increase bad habits of skiing narrow. Also causing load out of the ball breaking your form crossing the wake which is the most important.
  2. @ral Sorry dude but gates matter at any level. FYI my daughter won midwest regional and placed 2nd at Nationals, like wise the boy placed 4th at MW and will contend for two more years in boys 10 and under. You are not even at my wifes level we are looking for more advanced advice like skibug gave. Skibug gave the right description, up on the balls of your feet...I used toes which was not correct. Last night was the first time we have all skied. I was toying with different stances in the gate. I felt I came with less speed and more angle at 1 ball when I was on the balls of my feet. I watched some video of wim and looked more as you described skibug. We always coach the kids with basics...hips up elbows in behind the boat is most important. The girl is now needing all the little things to advance. I would post video but I do not own such equipment to do that.
  3. For one hand and traditional gates > Question should you stand tall up on your toes then drop the hip in.....Or bent knees weight up front. This question is from 26mph to 34 mph skiers kids, adults, rear toe and double hi wraps.
  4. @KcSwerver......B Many years of fishin over the mason dixon line you coax a mud-duck. Here is the gist. Ski courses attract fish, the direct drive whine really buzz the shad which attract fish and the mudducks trying to catch the fish. All can be a big happy family in some isolated cove. Downside is a mud-duck always uses fishin line that exceeds 20 pound test, tied to a over size chunk of lead with some wierd bait from ass pro that some gandy like Brent Chapman recommended....That can be hard on the gel coat & skier if the mud-duck does not fully understand why he likes fishin by water ski courses. Moms in AZ so I am headed back to the river to spread more doom and gloom of no fish on the river this year.
  5. @gregy Is the peeling stuff a wood finish....if so sand it. I forgot mine did 2 from my previuos failures with starbrite. Bring it down to bare wood best you can. Mine was not perfect and still worked fine.
  6. @gregy No prep just took it to Line-X told them to shoot the top and sides, cost 60 dollars. No problems or Maint in 4 years. Real grippy, no damage to skiis. Got the idea off Sanger barefoot boat. I think it looks good, others questioned when I did it but now like it. I have noticed no fading. My platform before was trashed.
  7. The Rhino look after 4 years...Not the best shot but all I have, blow it up.
  8. Ya, the kids were safe. I had all the precautions, inner tube, rope & life jacket. Must be control issue eh!

  12. Not a tweeter but your son really rocks. Most dominating string of national champioships going today. Best thing Chad is a fine young man. Not sure why he does not get publicity others do, because he has accomplished more than anybody.
  13. My wife drives like she is following a snake. She has 2 speeds fast and faster. I can hardely ever get her off the couch to go to the lake. All she wants to do is watch soaps munch on chips and down a 2 liter. Keeps me in great shape trying ski behind her driving. How could I be so lucky he he he.

  19. Than, We just installed those wally sinker buoys & boat guides with very lettle air. I saw my daughter clock at least 5 now a edged ski and she skiid right thru it. The rap was they do not fade & contestant do not affect you as regular contestant. I wanted to buy the bubble buoys but what I heard was you have to kept puffing them up and the floats get miss aligned. All simple fixes but just saying I am glad now we went with ole Wally. I did see some bubble buoys on ski-it-again for a cheaper price.
